Volume 2 Chapter 12: Tomatoes!

"What are you going to be making now, Keith?!" Fira tugged on Keith's sleeve. The others were curious as to what Keith was going to cook.

"I'm going to make tomato pasta." Keith didn't say much about it. But the name was enough to get the message across. Keith took a giant pot and poured some water into it. I need to boil them first.

While the tomatoes boiled, Keith diced some onions and sauteed them with butter.

"Butter is the best," May stated. Gus nodded to that. Whenever Keith threw in some butter, the smell was incredible.

"It smells so nice!" This was the first time Fira smelled something so great. May explained, "That is something the young master created. It's called butter. It's incredibly delicious."

"Eh?" Fira tilted her head, "What else did Keith make?"

May started to list off the foods Keith cooked. The latter took out some orc meat and diced it up. It didn't take long for the slab to get minced. He tossed it into the onion mixture to cook it together.

"Gus, watch over the orc meat. Let the two brown." "Understood, Boss!" Keith turned to the tomatoes. He peeled the skin off the tomatoes.

He cored the tomatoes and sliced them into quarters. Once he finished with the tomatoes, Keith wiped the seeds. He was definitely going to plant it again. With how the tomatoes tasted, there was no way he would throw them away!

"Boss, the meat is done cooking." Keith nodded, "Pour it into a pot." Gus nodded and tossed the mixture in.

"Now, I need to do this." Keith created a wind sphere in his hand. He placed it into the bowl of tomatoes. Like that, the tomato started to turn into a sauce.

Now, to pour it in. Keith poured the tomatoes into the pot. He added some herbs as well. I need to emphasize the taste of the tomato.

Keith continued to stir the pot so the cause wouldn't get burnt at the bottom.

As he stirred, the smell started to heighten! May and Gus's expressions were excited as they stared at the red sauce.

"Gus, boil some pasta." "Understood!" Gus got to work. The sauce was enough to excite his appetite. May and Fira were staring at the pot with eager eyes.

"Young Master, when are we going to eat?" "Yeah! I'm hungry." Fira added. The two couldn't hide their excitement as they continued to stare.

"In a few minutes," Keith answered with a calm look as he continued to stir.

"Boss, the noodles are done."

"Good, let me plate it." Keith smiled as he took a fork and twirled it around. He placed it on the plate. And lastly, Keith poured the sauce onto the top.

"Now that's finished, let's work on the others." Tomato pasta wasn't the only thing he would prepare!

...

"Keith, what happened to the garden?" Sophia and William questioned. They couldn't believe it. They saw what happened outside. It became a small forest.

"Well, you see. The vegetables were grown a little too much. I didn't realize something like this had happened. But the vegetables were delicious!" Keith stated with an excited expression.

"...I see." Keith was dodging the question. But hearing how the vegetables became delicious, there was no need to ask more.

"Please bring the dishes in!" The maids brought in the dishes.

"There's three this time?"

"Mmhmm. I made three dishes today. That's tomato soup, tomato pasta, and the tomato itself."

"They all look so vibrant." Sophia smiled. The dishes were pleasing to look at.

"Please dig in." Keith smiled. Like that, they started to eat. Fira sat at the table. Keith handed her a spoon for her to eat from.

"So delicious," Derek stated out loud. He was eating the pasta. The meat and tomato blended together gave a sweet and savory taste.

"The soup is delicious as well." While Derek was in awe of the pasta, Sophia focused on the tomato soup. She tasted it, and it was smooth.

"I added some milk to smooth it out," Keith explained.

"And what did you do to this one?" William pointed at the tomato.

"I didn't do anything," Keith answered. It was a regular cherry tomato. But Keith had cut it in a way to look like a flower.

"Let me try." When William bit into it, it popped into his mouth! The juices from the tomato filled his mouth.

"How were you able to get vegetables like this?" Sophia questioned. She couldn't believe it. She had a tomato before. And this tasted nothing like it!

"Everything was because of Fira." Keith smiled as he pointed at her. The vegetables were incredibly delicious because of her. The three stared at the spirit. Her face was covered red from the tomato soup.
