Volume 2 Chapter 21:  Cookies

"The smell is so good!" Sophia stated as her head turned to the oven! Half an hour passed. And the smell coming from it was incredible!

Everyone stared at the oven with anticipation!

"Keith, are they done?" Sophia questioned. She wanted to eat them now!

"Let me check." Keith smiled as he walked towards the oven. He took off the bricks. They were used to contain the heat. He saw crisp and golden brown cookies.

Sugar cookies.

It was a simple and delicious recipe. Keith would have it as a snack.

"It's-" Before Keith could say it was done, Sophia and the rest were behind him. Keith laughed,

"Let me put them on a plate." Keith moved the sheet onto the table. He placed them on a wide plate.

"Do you guys want to try it?" Keith questioned. They all nodded their heads!

They wanted to try it!

"Be careful, it's still hot," Keith added. It was taken out of the oven. Still fresh and warm. But they didn't care as they took a bite. And when they did, they were surprised.

"So delicious!" Crispy and light! It was something they had never tried before!

"Keith! I want more!" "Po!" Mir and Fira were all excited as they jumped on him! Keith smiled, "Sure." He picked two more cookies for them.

"We need more!" Sophia stated.

These cookies were something no one had ever made or eaten before until now.

Keith had a wry smile, "We finished them all." It didn't last a few minutes as everything was done!

"Can you make more?" Sophia questioned. She was really excited about it.

It seemed she was a fan of sweets.

"I can. But if we keep doing this, we will run out of sugar." Keith laughed as he looked at the sugar. He used a lot of sugar to make those cookies. And if he continued to use it, they were bound to run out in a day.

"I will get to work!" "Mmhmm! I will help out!" Fira pumped her fist as she was ready to grow more pearl beets. Sophia did the same as well!

She was prepared to use her magic!

"..." You guys really love those cookies, don't you? Keith sighed,

"Alright. Also, Michael, I want you to ask Orin to make me something for tomorrow."

"What do you need?! I will make that grumbling dwarf make it for you even if I have to force him!" Michael roared out.

Everyone could see the fire in his eyes as he said this.

Keith explained, "It's easy. I think he could finish it by tomorrow." Keith handed him some parchment.

"Gotcha!" Michael took the parchment and dashed off!

"Also, we still need to finish the resting area." Keith looked at the resting area.

"We got this!"

"You don't have to worry about anything, Young Master! We will finish it by the end of the day!"

"Even if it kills us!"

The knights roared out in unison. With the taste of cookies, their bodies were energized.

"..." I don't think you guys need to do that. But he turned to Sophia, May, and Fira. Those three were still staring at the sugar in marvel.

I definitely need to make more sugar.

Keith sighed. He also looked at Mir, "I don't think you will be returning home for today either."

"Po!" Mir shouted. The baby Samui didn't mind at all. Keith shook his head.

Are you that happy?

...

At night, when he went to sleep, Keith didn't fall asleep. I'm here again. He was sent into the white space!

"Hello again, Keith!" "Welcome back!" Kreye and Hepha smiled as they greeted him.

Keith bowed his head, "Hello, again."

"Is there something the matter?" Keith questioned.

"We wanted to ask how your life is going these days," Kreyes questioned. Keith had a bright smile,

"I finally did it! I made sugar today!" Keith pumped his hand!

"You did?!" Kreye's tone was weird as he said this. Keith nodded, "I think I can make many more dishes with it!"

"That's great!" Kreye smiled.

"Mmhmm, mmhmm."

"And the oven you made is interesting," Hepha added as she stared at the stove. But Keith shook his head,

"I might replace it later." This was a temporary oven. He wanted something that could control the heating inside. That way, he wouldn't have to be worried about anything burning.

"I see," Hepha said. But there was an awkward silence between them.

Keith sighed and said, "Alright, you guys don't need to hide it. What do you guys want?"

"Whatever do you mean?"

"You asked me about my life. But you already know about it." Keith stated. Hepha said oven. He never talked about the oven. That meant she was watching over what he did.

"You guys want cookies, right?" Keith questioned. When they heard that, Kreye and Hepha looked away. And that was a yes.

"...Do you want me to make some now?" Keith asked.

"Please!" "Yes!" The two nodded their heads. Like that, Keith baked for the two.

"So sweet!" "It's crunchy!" The two were in awe of the cookies.

"Can you guys cook?" Sugar cookies were simple. Since Kreye could imagine the ingredients up, couldn't they make it?

"No way!" "It was horrible!"

"You tried?"

"Kreye did. When he tried, the cookies were black!" Kreye could imagine the ingredients up. But skill-wise? That was a whole different matter.

It was terrible!

"Keith, can you send us an offering?" Kreye hugged the kid's leg as he said this. Keith tilted his head,

"Offering?"

"Mmhmm! Mmhmm!"

"I want to eat it the moment you make it!" Kreye's eyes were bloodshot as he said this.

"How do I do it?" Keith questioned.

"You just need to pray to an altar. Imagine sending it to us, and it will teleport."

"Ok. That's doable." Keith nodded.

"Yippe!" "Thank you so much!"

...

Once Keith had disappeared again, Kreye had a dark expression.

"What's wrong, Kreye?" Hepha tilted her head.

"We must not let the others find out about this."

"Huh? Why not?"

"Think about it. If those guys find out, wouldn't they mooch off as well?"

Hepha's eyes widened when she heard that.

That's right!

"We have to keep it a secret from them!" Like that, the two heavenly beings were willing to do everything to protect their food.
