Volume 3 Chapter 37: Aria Is Your Familiar

"It fits nice," Keith noted. There was no constriction around his arm. It was perfect. Once Keith paid for his uniform, he turned to Leon and Laura. The two were used as mannequins! 

"Sophia, we must have them wear this!"

"And this as well,"

"Duchess, Marchioness, we have to let them wear this!" May also joined in on this. It was surprising. 

"I'm going out now," Keith quickly left the shop before the three had a chance to notice him. Keith sighed,

"Dodged a bullet." If Keith didn't leave, he would have been forced to do the same thing. But it seemed the two liked it. With how excited Leon and Laura were, they won't be getting tired any time soon. 

"Ho!" Aria sounded as she nestled her head to his face. 

Keith laughed, "Don't worry. I'm fine,"

"Anyways, how about we have some fun," There would be many things changing once Keith entered the academy. 

But one thing he would have to face was Aria. 

She was the one Keith was probably going to miss the most. Aria had always been by his side throughout his childhood. Even when he was a baby, she would stay by her side without a thought. 

But that was going to change. 

"Let's have some fun!" Keith decided. Since he would be away from her, the two should go out and have some fun. 

"Ho!" Aria screeched. And like that, the two of them head off to whatever stores they could find. 

They were finding any food they could try together. As they were doing this, 

"Young man! Is that your familiar?" Keith turned over to a stall. He shook his head, 

"She isn't my familiar. She's my father's familiar,"

"Oh! That doesn't matter. How about you buy an accessory?!" The vendor stated.

"An accessory?" 

"Mmhmm. Check it out," The vendor showed his collections, "I have many types of jewelry and accessories for you to choose from! They won't get in the way of your familiar abilities!"

"Let me take a look," Keith looked at the accessories there. Most of them looked interesting. But there was one that caught Keith's eyes. It was a cuff.

It was  made of silver and had a sapphire jewel in the shape of a rhombus stuck in the center. 

"Are you alright with this?" Keith questioned Aria. 

"Ho!" Aira didn't mind as she raised her wings! 

"Can I try it on her?" "Sure!" It was a simple process as it cuffed onto Aria's legs. 

"Is it alright?" Keith questioned.

"Ho!" Aria started to fly around him.  

"There's also a matching earring for you!" The clerk stated as he showed him a pair of earrings. 

"We'll take it!" Keith didn't hesitate as he handed the coins to the clerk. He took the earrings and wore them.

"Like this, we match,"

"Ho!" Aria liked the idea as she nudged Keith's face. The two of them kept playing until they returned to the estate. 

When they returned home, Sophia noticed the change in Keith's appearance, "Keith, you got your ears pierced," 

The silver earrings were eye-catching. Keith nodded,

"I got something to pair with Aria," Keith stated. They turned to the owl and noticed the cuff on one of her legs. 

"That looks cool!" Leon stated.

"Pretty," Laura muttered. They were in awe of the new items. Keith questioned, "How was your shopping trip?"

"It was fun!" Laura and Leon answered. Sophia and Camelia had a smile as they stared at them. 

"...I see." Keith looked at Eric and the two. Are we the normal ones? While they were lost in thought, William stated, 

"Keith, there's something I want to talk to you about,"

"Hmm?"

"We'll talk about it later,"

"Understood,"

They continued to eat without a thought. But afterward, Keith followed William and walked out to the garden,

"What's the matter, Father?"

"I've been thinking about it. But today made it clear," William smiled, "Keith, I want you to take care of Aria,"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"I'm saying you should make a contract with Aria instead of me," William clarified. This had been on his mind for quite some time now. 

"But Aria is your familiar,"

"Keith, Aria has always been by your side. Can you really call her my familiar?" This was something William understood a long time ago. 

"She had always listened to your commands better than mine." Saying it made him chuckle. That was an understatement of the making. Aria didn't need Keith to say anything. She would do it like that. That was how attuned she was with Keith.  

"But what about the city?" This wasn't about whether or not Aria would listen to him. This was also about the city. 

The blizzard owl was there to protect the city from any trouble.  

"It's fine. We have enough protection," William stated, "And besides, having something that doesn't listen to commands is not a good idea to have." 

"..."

"Don't hesitate. I know out of everyone, you care about Aria the most," That was also an understatement. 

Like how Aria watched him all the time, Keith would do the same. 

"Alright!" Keith nodded. There was no point in hesitating now! William nodded. He summoned Aria. 

"I'm going to break the contract with you,"

"Ho!" The owl made a sound, complying with his thoughts. A magic circle started to form around the two. And the emblem on their hand slowly disintegrated. William turned to Keith, 

"Keith, form a contract with Aria now,"

"Mmhmm," Keith nodded his head as he looked at Aria. It was simple to make a contract. Pass a droplet of blood to the monster. 

And like that, it happened. A magic circle enveloped the two. A small emblem formed on his other hand, 

Keith smiled, "Thank you so much, Father!"

"It's fine." William patted Keith's head, "With this, you have extra protection," Handing Aria to him was the correct choice. Unlike the other three, who had one another to help, Keith was going in there alone.

"Now go to sleep. You have to prepare for the academy."

"Mmhmm!" Keith nodded!
