Volume 3 Chapter 48: Weed Pulling

"Mgnh!" Keith raised his hands into the air as he got out of his tent. It was the next day. 

When he got out, Fira and Aria followed suit. 

"It's been a while since I slept so well in a tent," Keith laughed. Sleeping in a tent was usually uncomfortable. But it was really nice yesterday. Maybe it's because of the monsters. Whenever he pulled out a tent, it was in the forest, surrounded by monsters. 

He could only get seldom sleep before a monster roared. 

"Mngh!" Fira kept moving her head back and forth. 

Keith chuckled, "Fira, you can sleep some more if you want,"

"It's fine. I need to wake up at the same time as Keith!" Keith nodded as he walked over to a well. That was the only source of water. He washed his face and helped Fira too.

"I'm going to make a light breakfast," A simple omelet would do. Keith took out his pan and started to fire some eggs up. After what he ate yesterday, he wanted something light for breakfast.  

He sauteed some mushrooms as well. He folded the omelet, and this was an easy breakfast. 

"Let's eat!" "Ho!" "Yeah!" Like that, the three of them ate their breakfast. It was quick. 

Time to get this done. Keith wasn't planning to train today. What he needed to do right now was to clean up the weed on the island. There were so many weeds. 

Keith got to work as he started to pull the weeds from the field. It was a simple task. While he pulled, Aria used wind magic to slice all the weeds into tiny pieces. It slowly became dust, floating into the air. 

"Good job, everyone." Keith wiped the sweat off his face. They were able to clean up a good amount today.

"Let's have some sweets," Keith took out some cookies.

"Yay!" Fira jumped up and down. Keith handed a cookie to her and Aria. It was good to have some sugar. 

"I guess I need to make something," Keith rolled his sleeve and needed to cook again.

"Fira, Aria, I'm going to go now. Can you guys handle everything here?" Keith questioned. 

"Sure! We'll pull more weeds out!" "Ho!" The two were on pulling weed duty.  

"Thanks a lot, you two," Keith smiled as he left the island, leaving it to their care. He walked to the teleportation gate to go back to the academy. 

When Keith entered the classroom, he realized he was the first person who arrived.

I should start drawing. Keith smiled as he took out some paper and started to design. Cadmus had given him a rough estimate of the size of the home.  

Now, it was time for him to fix it up. While he was drawing on the paper, students entered the classroom. 

"Good morning," Keith smiled as he greeted her. But the student didn't even acknowledge him as she walked to her seat without a thought! Keith scratched his head. 

Guess she doesn't like me. 

More students entered the room. Keith did the same thing and greeted them. But most of their responses were cold. But there were some who nodded their heads at him, showing some acknowledgment.  

There was one who greeted back,

"Sup!" It was a beastman. But it seemed when he did, his underlings were telling him to not speak with Keith. Keith didn't mind as he continued to draw again. Keith was too in the zone. 

"Good! I'm almost finished."

"What are you doing?" Keith turned his head to see that Gabriel and Carolyn were in the face!

"Woah! When did you guys get in?!" Keith was shocked. Were they ninjas?!

"We walked in a long time ago," Gabriel chuckled.

"You were so focused on your work that you didn't even notice Professor Aidiun entering in either." Aidiun also entered the classroom. Keith scratched his head, 

"Sorry about that. I was too in the zone," Keith had been too focused on his work.

"What were you drawing?" Gabriel was curious about it. Keith explained, "I was designing something,"

"That's a good drawing," Carolyn stared.

"Thanks."

"Let's start class," Aidiun  stated as he turned to Keith, "Keith, can you hand out this sheet?"

"Sure," Keith took it and handed it to the students. As he passed it to them, they continued to scoff at him without a thought. But he understood what was going on.  

"I will start off where I left off." Aidiun started the lecture again.
