Volume 3.5 Chapter 58: Day Of The Duel

After class ended, Carolyn and the others headed towards the solitary confinement ward. This was where students who got punished were placed in.

Carolyn spoke to the guard, "Hello, we're here to meet with Keith Freed."

The guard nodded, "He's held in cell number five."

"Understood." The group headed to his holding cell. As they walked through the cells, Arlo questioned,

"Is Leader fine staying here?" It was a prison. From what he saw, there were only the bare necessities.

"He should be alright," Knowing Keith, he could survive about anything.

But what they saw was surprising: a sleeping Keith. It looked like he had no care in the world!

"Uh? Is he supposed to be like that?" Gabriel questioned.

"No," Carolyn's expression turned dark as she banged on the cell,

"Wake up, Keith!"

"Wahh!" The sudden scream caused him to fall from his bed. He looked up at the group,

"Why did you guys have to wake me up like that? I was having such a good dream." He rubbed his eyes.

"..." It's our fault?!

"Dream my butt! Why are you relaxing like that?!" Carolyn roared! Everyone was going crazy, and it was because of this man. Yet, this dude was relaxing like it was another Tuesday!

There was something very wrong with that!

"There's really nothing to do here besides getting some sleep," Keith laughed as he scratched his head.

"...So it's like an off day?" Arlo questioned.

"If you don't account for the fact that I'm in a cell, then sure. You can think of it like that."

"Keith, it's all my fault you're in here!" Sarah didn't even hesitate as she apologized for all of this.

But that caused Keith to tilt his head, "What do you mean? This isn't your fault,"

"But I told you about this and caused you to go and attack them."

"It was my choice in doing so. There's no need to feel guilty about it." Keith had always done things based on what he wanted. And yesterday was the same.

"How are you going to deal with Todd and those guys?" Carolyn brought up the situation.

"Guts," Keith stated calmly.

"Be more serious," Carolyn groaned. If there weren't any bars in between them, she would have slapped Keith.

"There's really no plan. I'm going to go out there and take the trash out." Keith answered with a calm expression. That was the only plan he had going forward.

"..." Carolyn stared at Keith. She took a big sigh, "Alright, but don't hurt yourself,"

"Relax, I got this," Keith chuckled. He added,

"Sarah, can you do me a favor?"

"What do you need?" Sarah's eyes were ferocious.

"Relax, I'm not asking you to do something dangerous."

...

"Woah, there's a lot of people here," It was the day of the duel between Keith and Todd. What surprised Keith was there were so many spectators there!

Keith stood on one side of the Colosseum. Across from him was Todd.

"That's because a duel is something no one has seen for quite some time," Aidiun explained. A duel was something that no one would dare to do. It was lost to time. But someone had brought that tradition back.

"I see,"

"Are you really going to go through with this, Keith?" Aidiun questioned.

"Of course," Keith wasn't going to back down.

"That Principal really wanted to make your life a living hell," Aidiun sighed. He looked down at Keith's wrist. He still wore his gravity bracelets. There was one on each of his arms.

"Grandpa Cadmus doesn't do things without a reason. I think?" Keith laughed.

"..." You think?

"Also, where is Grandpa Cadmus and Uncle Sohma?" Keith didn't see the two of them anywhere.

"Sohma is on security. But Cadmus is-" Aidiun looked up and pointed at the announcing table.

"Hello everyone! My name is Lola, and I'm today's host!" A beautiful girl commented with a smile.

"And I'm not the only one here as we have the Principal as our side announcer." The beautiful girl shouted and pointed at Cadmus,

"I'm glad to be here!" Cadmus waved his hand.

"What the?!" Keith's eyes twitched when he saw that.

Aidiun explained, "We told him not to do it. But the man didn't listen and decided to do it." It was a headache for Sohma and him when Cadmus decided to do it!

"This grandpa is really going to be the death of me."

"It seemed they're calling you out,"

"Mmhmm,"

"Good luck."

"Thank you," Keith smiled as he was ready to enter.
