Chapter 587 The Horrendous Plan

"What?!? Nooo!" Keng shouted. "Anything but that! Why does it have to be him?"

"Calis just got a job a security with the Creator." Halys continued. "He will most likely be one of the people who watch you while you're 'Lee Seng'." Keng continued to grown as Halys continued. "I'm making sure the odds of you being followed by the Creator's men is my men. You'll do what you have to do and figure out what the Creator is up to while you also figure out where Lee Seng is, okay?"

"I would rather turn into a demon than allow that to happen!" Keng shouted. Halys took a step forward and before Keng knew it, he was in a hold. Halys squeezed tight as Keng's air supply was cut off.

"Victoria, do it." Halys ordrered.

"Yes, sir." Victoria sighed. She shook her head as she came over to Keng and plucked something form the air. It formed into a pen. Victoria pulled the cap off and gave Keng a frown. "This might hurt a bit." Halys pulled  the sweater and shirt up and Victoria began to work. Runes burned into Keng as screams erupted from his mouth.

His air supply was depleting and he had an begrudging thought that Halys was annoyed by him and was doing this on purpose. He frantically tapped Halys to allow him to breathe but Halys ignored him. By the Victoria was done writing, Keng's vision blurred.

"Done." Victoria announced, capping the pen. Halys released Keng and took his spot near the door. Valen had snaked his way in and the whole room watched Keng drop to the floor.

"Runic Script: Word of Command." Victoria spoke in Fox tongue. "You will abide by the commands you are getting from your commander. Failure to follow this will result in punishment until you heel and follow it. Death may even happen if you aren't careful, got it?"

Keng coughed as Victoria loomed over him. The script burned across his body as Victoria asked again.

"Do you understand, Keng?"

"YES!" Keng shouted. The burning subsided, leaving him to catch his breath unbothered. He pulled his shirt and sweater down and turned to Halys, glaring.

"If you go rogue, the rune script will get worst than what you're feeling now. You'll eventually die from not following my orders, got it?" Halys spoke with a stern voice.

"Yes…" Keng coughed. He looked down as Halys nodded.

"You're going to get dropped off in a busy area since you didn't want to cooperate. You can deal with the police and the special forces that come after you. Be shipped to the Creator's lab and probably held for a while. That's the punishment you put on yourself."

Keng began to open his mouth to say something when Halys turned and started to leave the room.

"If you figure out anything, contact me." Halys waved. The Fox Spirits left the room, leaving Keng with Calis as Keng slumped to the ground. He could still feel the immense burning on his stomach while he stared at the ceiling. Keng could hear Calis grab the chair, only to find it crumbling into pieces.

"When do you wanna do this?" Calis wiped his hands on his pants. He popped into Keng's view, who ignored his presence.

'Dammit all…' Keng thought. He felt even more exhausted than before he passed out. Halys and the others weren't playing jokes with him. Halys was actually a General… Keng let out a chuckle, instantly regretting it as he clutched his stomach.

Keng was thrown out of the car and into the busy section of the city. It was the shopping district and loads of people were around. He looked disheveled and caught many people's attentions. Whispers erupted as people watched him.

'Fuck you, Halys.' Keng groaned, clutching his stomach. It was cold and his clothes were torn. He was caked with dirt and subjected to surprise punches as blood was put onto his clothes. The Fox Spirits had gone all out on making him look the part.

Keng slowly stood up as Calis broke through the crowd.

"Hello?!?" Calis shouted into the phone. "There's someone hurt here! I need help!" Calis came to Keng's side and knelt down.

'Make you the hero, too…' Keng's face soured. 'It's like they want me to actually hate Calis…'

"Are you alright?" Calis asked. Keng groaned and tried to roll his neck. He let out a shout as he clutched his neck. "It seems like his neck hurts. Could you please hurry it up?" Calis's annoyed face grew. He was good at acting.

'Should've been an actor instead of a squadron leader.' Keng retorted to himseelf.

"What's going on here?" Liz asked weaving through the crowd.

"Liz, don't go in there!" Manny shouted. He let out a frustrated sigh as he turned to look at Evan, Ritsuka and Olivia. "I'll go get her."

"Okay." Olivia nodded. She shifted her attention what the crowd was seeing. She looked at Ritsuka and asked, "You know what's happening?"

"No. I can barely see what's happening. I think someone's calling for help." Ritsuka answered.

"What happened?" Evan asked.

"Liz! You don't have to help every person in need! The cops were probably called! C'mon lets go back!" Manny popped out next to Liz, grabbing her wrist. Manny began to pull Liz back into the crowd. When Liz didn't move, he began to complain to her. "Liz, what's the ma—"

p "L-Lee Seng…?" Liz's lip quivered.

"Huh?" Manny turned his attention onto the dark tanned man hovering over another young man. The young man seemed hurt and definitely not dressed for the cold weather. Manny's hand released as he realized who the young man was. "Lee!"

Manny bolted for Keng as Liz followed after.

"Huh? Did I just hear Manny shout Lee Seng's name?" Olivia looked at Evan and Ritsuka. Ritsuka and Evan gave each other similar glances before moving through the crowd. "Hey! Don't leave me behind!" Olivia followed after, apologizing to the crowd as she moved through.

"Hey, what's wrong with my friend?!?" Manny asked, sliding onto the other side.

"I, uh, don't know. H-he came outta car all of a sudden looking like this!" Calis explained.

"Get out of the way. I can heal him." Manny told Calis.

"But…"

"It's alright, sir." Liz smiled at Calis. "He's good at what he does… And this is our friend."

"Oh." Calis gave Keng a look of panic. Keng wanted to smile but the quiet chuckle he let out made his body hurt.

"Ahhh." Keng groaned.

"Hold still, Lee." Manny's hands turned green as the energy washed over him. "Where the hell were you? You just went AWOL for almost two months with no trace!"

"Hey, I think we should question him after you heal him." Liz recommended.

"Lee Seng?!?" Evan, Ritsuka, and Olivia shouted.

'Shit, the whole gang's here.' Keng thought. The three rushed to his side as Calis moved back with the phone against his ear.

"Y-yes?" Calis asked turning slightly away. "Y-yeah, there seems to be a healer amongst the crowd… He's healing his supposed friend… Okay, thanks. I'll h-hold."

"Are you okay?" Olivia asked.

"What happened to you? You left with that guy and never came back!" Manny asked as Keng's injuries quickly faded. The cut he had gotten from Ysa healed, stinging as it disappeared.

"I don't… Really remember." Keng told them. He was supposed to lie and make up a story but he really didn't know what to say. He tried his best to avoid Ritsuka, but Ritsuka made it quite hard for him to. He glanced at him and Ritsuka's concerned look stayed.

'I guess he can't tell the difference.' Keng thought.

"There." Manny stopped healing. He stood up and stuck his hand out. "Can you stand?" Keng begrudgingly grabbed Manny's hand and was whisked off his bum and onto his feet.

'You're technically friends with Manny right now.' Keng reminded himself. 'And none of them remember you. Especially Ritsuka.' The sounds of police sirens came and the group looked around.

"The police are here." Evan announced. "We should probably let him deal with that…"

"That means you're going to the Creator, right?" Liz asked.

"I believe so." Manny sighed. "I'll try to see if we can tag along. He is our friend."

"Yeah, we should make sure he's fine all the way through!" Olivia nodded. Calis entered between Liz and Olivia.

"Do you need me to stay with you?" Calis asked Keng.

'Are you sure you'll be okay?' Calis telepathically asked Keng.

"I'll be fine with m-my friends…" Keng answered.

'They're Lee Seng's friends. It'll be fine.' Keng telepathically replied.

"A-alright… Please be safe." Calis nodded, taking a step away.

"Thank you for calling the police." Liz stepped in front of Calis. She took a quick glance at him, nodding at him. Calis nodded back as he excused himself.

'I'll let the others know then.' Calis telepathically told Keng before moving through the crowd.

"Alright, let us through!" The authorities shouted. The crowd split as the gang watched medics swarm the area with police on their tail.
