Chapter 116: Prey Becomes Predator
Chapter 116: Prey Becomes Predator
As the sun was hanging above the sky, Khal entered Shadow Woods with Rubie on his shoulder and walked toward the deepest part of it where the Ghost Spider was hiding.
Cultivators around him that hunted for weak Beasts when saw Rubie on Khal’s shoulder all became shocked, some even confused.
“A Summoner Talent? What Stage is that Beast on? It looks cute though.”
“It’s only on the First Stage. And her owner… Look at him he has… Wait, isn’t that guy?”
As people realized that the hybrid Beast’s owner was none other but Khal, everyone stayed silent and didn’t dare to talk any louder.
Khal was the one holding the Moon Robe and not only beat a Natural Born with two Talents but even crushed close to a hundred Cultivators single-handedly! Fearing that they will give rise to his wrath because they talked trash about his Beast all the Cultivators began to retreat and give space to him.
Obviously, Khal noticed this and could only sigh helplessly, but in truth, this was what he wanted to. Not to be looked down on and avoiding being underestimated.
He wanted to be strong and make others acknowledge his strength and now he reached it, or at least he earned others respect only in Moon Academy. As for other cities or people in faraway lands, it is inevitable to be looked down on, especially if his body didn’t emit any Cultivation Presence.
But this could change with Rubie here. If she was able to reach greater heights in strength others won’t have a single thought he was weak.
A Cultivator with a powerful Beast as his companion? Who in their right mind would think that individual was weak? Only retards for sure.
Walking among the woods toward the center of Shadow Woods, people watched as Khal’s figure vanished from their sight a few moments later.
“What do you think he wants to do there?”
“I don’t know but to tell the truth, I don’t really care at all. It is apparent he plans to hunt for Beasts in the danger zone so anything that happens with him there is only his own misfortune.” exclaimed a guy as he slashed at a Beast akin to a rabbit, chopping its body in half.
Khal walked for minutes in a straight line when he finally arrived where he first met with the Ghost Spider.
About a hundred meters away from him the woods have already darkened, enveloping the whole forest before him into complete darkness.
“It should be here,” said Khal in a low voice as his eyes already turned sky clear blue.
After breaking into the Third Cultivation Stage with his Heaven’s Eyes the radius of his sight expanded from 6 meters to 7 while his vision became even cleared. He even was able to see a bit of thing in the darkness before him.
The Devil Fangs were tightly in his grasp while Rubie was calmly prying their surroundings with her tiny eyes.
Silence filled the air and Khal waited patently, but even after several minutes, nothing happened. There was not even the slightest of sign that Ghost Spider would want to attack him.
“Did it change its habitat after Moras injured it? That should be impossible,” mumbled Khal as he knew that Beasts won’t change their territory so easily.
Raising his fan, Khal poured a bit of Essence into it and swung it horizontally.
Swish!
With a silver light, Khal’s Essence broke forth from the fan, making the top of the trees’ start to shake a bit.
Drop… Drop… Drop…
And just as he thought, the moment he did that small drops of blood began to fall onto the ground one after another, creating a small pond of blood after only ten seconds.
“It is still here.” thought Khal nonchalantly as he watched that the blood was still fresh.
“Chirp!”
Suddenly, Rubie who acted calm and quiet all this time now cried up loudly, her gaze fixed firmly on a tree not far away from Khal.
“It’s coming.” thought Khal as he knew Beast’s had greater danger sense than humans and Rubie noticed the Ghost Spider’s approach.
Weaker Beasts had a greater sense about stronger enemies in their proximity than vice-versa.
Khal tightened his grip gently on his weapon but waited patiently for the Beast to approach him. He acted as though he didn’t notice Rubie’s warning and pretended to be oblivious about the approaching danger.
However, Rubie didn’t know this and began to cry even louder whilst she even fluttered her wings wildly just to make Khal notice the problem.
But just as she did, a flash appeared from above targeting Rubie’s tiny figure on Khal’s shoulder.
“Just in your dreams!” said Khal loudly and in a flash moved.
His feet got covered with blue Essence while his skin turned crystal black. With a momentum that left a great and wide crater in the soil, Khal appeared a few meters away, while his eyes were firmly fixed on the spot where he just stood.
There, about 5 meters away from him, a leg that was as thick as a human and as long as a pole was solidly pierced into the ground while a disgusting face with hundreds of eyes were staring down at him from above, a mixture of blood and drool flowing out from its jaw like water.
“There you are,” said Khal and without hesitation raised his arm.
“Stellar Domain, Open!”
BAM!
With a great explosion, the forest vanished and what replaced it was a limitless and infinite space filled with millions of stars and thousands of galaxies!
When he first tried his new power, Khal was unable to discover how to make Rubie immune to his domain’s power, but after asking about Domain-type Talents from Logan, he got his answer.
There were numerous Domain-type Talents. Some restricted powers, some boosted them and there were even some that affected the body or mind directly. But every Domain-Type Talent had one common trait that was absolute; the power to decide who was affected and who was not!
Simply put, just a simple command from Khal could decide if the people in his domain were enemies or allies, resulting in them being affected by his Domain’s power or not.
And that is why, he concentrated on affecting only the Ghost Spider without causing harm to Rubie.
And just as he belived it, it worked perfectly!
The moment he moved his arm to the right resulting in the galaxies and stars around him rotating to the right too, the spider suddenly fell down heavily while Rubie remained on his shoulder without any sign of harm.
“It truly worked!” exclaimed Khal merrily, and swing his arm to the left, making his domain rotate toward the left too.
“SCHREEEEh!!” with painful screeching as though someone was tortured, the Ghost Spider wanted to stand up, but only in vain.
The moment it tried to push its massive physique up onto its legs, its figure began to wobble here and there akin to someone who was drunk and had no. balance at all.
“Sit back down,” said Khal with a grin and swung his arm down without any hesitation.
“SCHREEEEECHH!!!” crying out with thunder loud blood-freezing shriek, the Ghost Spider’s body collapsed ponderously, drawing out a slight tremor in Khal’s domain.
