Chapter 128: Transfer Station
Chapter 128: Transfer Station
Stepping through the door, Khal felt as a gentle breeze hit him on the face while fresh air filled his lungs.
The whole scene around him and the sensation felt terrifyingly real that he never felt back in Blade Mountain.
Inside Blade Mountain, he always knew that he was in a separate space that was formed through special means, yet right now that feeling could be felt nowhere.
Everything he sensed and saw around him was as though he had been teleported into a point somewhere else on Ephus.
“Woah! This is amazing!” was what left Khal’s mouth after a moment of silence.
After he stepped inside his ‘room’, the door behind him closed but in contrast to his V.I.P Key, the door remained there and didn’t vanish.
“Screech!” jumping into the air, Rubie began to fly between the trees, seemingly enjoying the feeling she was out in the ‘wild’ if one could say that.
–
Time passed in a blink of an eye and after eating dinner Khal went back to his room and fell asleep.
Surprisingly the grass was extremely soft, softer than any luxurious bed he had ever slept on hence he was able to fell asleep quite fast.
It didn’t take him even a minute te fall into a deep slumber which never happened with him!
Before he could have realized it, the next day arrived and Khal went to eat something for breakfast; his stomach was quite empty and he began to starve a bit.
Naturally, only after he took a quick shower in the small lake in its ‘room’ that appeared next to him out of nowhere.
After that, he went down and ate some eggs together with some strange-looking baked creatures representing octopuses and shrimps together with Logan.
11 a.m arrived quickly and the time for everyone to gather in the hall came.
Only when everyone was there and entered the hall did Master Adam and Madam Snow appeared and stood atop the platform.
“Well, it seems everyone is here,” said Master Adam after a moment of silence and flicked his sleeve.
Swish!
In a flash, everyone in the hall felt like the space around them twisted and soon they were inside a spacious room, filled with hundreds of tall and thick pillars.
In its middle, a huge circular platform was placed with hundreds of pipes going out of it and vanishing into the distance among the pillars.
“What is that?” this question manifested inside numerous people’s heads as never in their entire lives did they see such a thing before.
But their anxiety and suspicion were quickly answered by Madam Snow from the side the next second.
“What you can see before yourselves is a special product that the Cultivator’s Organization created through years of hard work and endeavors. It is a Transfer Station that is capable of teleporting hundreds of beings from one point to another as easily as Teleportation Arrays.”
When Madam Snow’s voice fell the whole room was filled with an uproar as this was something they never would have belived to see nor hear!
Teleportation Array was a unique pattern that could be created with the help of one’s Essence. Once created on two different points, let it be between two cities or two continents, one will be capable of teleporting the distance between the two arrays in a flash!
However, only those could use a Teleportation Array that created them hence Teleportation Arrays weren’t so popular in the Cultivation world.
However, this Teleportation Station finally solved the problem that the Teleportation Arrays had for ages!
People could travel far distances way faster and more comfortably while they could also save their power and power for future events without wasting!
This was news that will renovate not only the Southern Continent but the whole world! Hell, it could even push the human race toward fame if they succeed to bring it into the Second Relm!
While everyone was mesmerized by this amazing finding, Madam Snow stepped next to the Transfer Station and said, “Well then, onto the Thousand Life Tournament.”
“As Master Adam has already announced yesterday, the tournament will be held on a deserted area, as for where that is, I am strictly prohibited to tell.”
After her voice fell, she gestured toward the platform and continued, “Now then, all the participants here, please step onto this platform.
Every Cultivator did as Madam Snow said, and without asking questions all of them stepped onto the Transfer Station.
“Perfect. Them let us began the Thousand Life Tournament!” exclaimed Madam Snow with a bit louder voice and pushed a button on the side.
Swish!
In a flash, Khal watched as his vision turned completely dark and a few minutes later he found himself on a vast wasteland filled with nothing but sand while above him the sun was scorching with insane heat.
“Where are the others?” was the very first question that appeared inside his head, but surprisingly no one was around him.
No matter where tried to look, the only thing he was able to see was an infinite amount of sand all around him!
–
Inside Haven City and basically inside every City on the Southern Continent, every Cultivator was holding their Cultivator’s Badge in their hands, staring at a hologram that was played into the air before them through their Badge.
The hologram was separated into 251 screens, each of them holding different scenes with a single Cultivator visible on them.
Some were standing inside a deep canyon, some were before a huge volcano while others stood in the middle of a frozen wasteland!
As Cultivators all around the Southern Continent watched this sight with confusion suddenly another screen popped up with a single man in its middle.
The man looked quite young, maybe someone in his twenties while his clothing was a simple suit with a black tie hanging from his neck.
“Ladies and Gentlemen! Fellow Cultivators from the Southern Continent welcome! My name is David Kilgard and it is my pleasure to be your host in this decade’s Thousand Life Tournament!”
As his voice fell a smile formed on his face and continued spiritedly, “Maybe you all wondering why every participant seems to be in different environments instead of an arena. Well, the answer is quite simple! With a sudden change of rules, the Thousand Life Tournament will officially be a free-for-all battle among all the two hundred and fifty-one participating Cultivators!”
Immediately after he said those words, an enormous uproar broke out in all cities all around the Southern Continent.
“What? A free-for-all battle?” exclaimed Scarlett inside Jas’s room with alarm plastered over her face.
Even the other teachers from Moon Academy that were currently on her side seemed shocked too, hardly believing that something like this could truly happen.
Jas who sat inside his chair all this time raised his crossed fingers before his mouth, his face showing a slight frown as he stared at the huge hologram in the middle of the room.
“Yes, I know it arrived with great shock for all of you, but this is what the Cultivator’s Organization decided!” said David and smiled, “So then, let us see the rules and the changes!”
In a flash, a huge map emerged before everyone, revealing a huge map about an insanely huge island.
“This is the place where our participants will fight against each other to decide which one of them is the strongest! But unfortunately, because of different means, I was strictly told not to tell any information about this amazing location, hence I decided to call it the Netherworld!”
“As you can see, the Netherworld is separated into 251 areas, each section holding a unique environment. A dark forest filled with hungry Beasts, a jungle where poisonous Plant Beasts lurks, different vast wastelands where temperature can be either so hot you die from dehydration or so cold you freeze to death! The variations are numerous!”
“However, each area is about 20 miles huge, so participants can freely roam from one area to another! Naturally, only if they are strong enough to survive before getting killed by either the environment, the Beasts or other participants…”
All the spectator’s faces changed drastically upon hearing this as they realized one thing in an instant.
Right now, the participants not only needed to defend and fight against other Cultivators, but they had to fight unknown Beasts while also finding a way to survive in different environments!
This was way harder than any of the previous Thousand Life Tournaments before!
“This will be harder than I have thought,” exclaimed Jas quietly, his eyes fixed firmly on the screen that showed Khal’s figure.
