Chapter 4089 Welcoming The Bandits
Chapter 4089 Welcoming The Bandits
"Myria!" n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Davis flew into the field and appeared in front of Myria in the blink of an eye. He looked at her with intense emotions before he wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her. Her incomparable softness and warmth blew away his worries for the past week, making him heave a huge sigh inwardly as he held her.
"…"
Myria went red, not expecting this kind of welcome at the entrance. She was extremely embarrassed since the others were looking. However, she also badly missed him, causing her to wrap her arms around his neck as she whispered.
"I'm back safely~ There was no need to worry."
"It's good that you are back safely."
Davis nodded and pulled his head back, looking at her with a gaze full of longing. His gaze naturally fell on her lips.
"Not here."
Myria sent a physical soul transmission, too shy to kiss in front of strangers.
Davis thoroughly enjoyed her innocent expression before he raised his head and scanned the newcomers.
Naturally, he had seen them while dashing here. He was pleasantly surprised, but that didn't triumph his worry and longing for Myria. Now that he looked at them, he couldn't help but chuckle.
"You guys, I thought you would've all broken through to the Empyrean Beast Stage by now. It seems like Lest Mistwalker is the only one who became an Empyrean- I mean, an Autarch."
"…"
The Dark Dragon and the Phantom Gaze Cobra stared at Davis in horror.
It had been barely two years since they separated from him, but he stepped into the Immortal Emperor Stage in the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Minor Realm, killed over forty Empyreans, went into hiding, and was now a Level Four Immortal Emperor.
They couldn't even begin to see his limit.
If they had held him in high regard during the events of the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm, then they now practically looked at him as though he was a deity.
Were Anarchic Divergents that great? Weren't they chased like dogs and slaughtered to death?
They more or less consoled their hearts with these words, but now, the gaze they had looked at him after hearing the news of him massacring those Heaven's Warriors and the realm officials changed. Their hearts shook, full of trepidation. They didn't even know how to respond to his cheerful voice.
Was he disappointed with them and was going to slaughter them with a wave of his hand?
After looking at the escaped prisoners, Davis cast his glance at Lereza, Illumina, and Vereina.
His heart shook as he could sense that Lereza and Vereina were extremely powerful. He felt gratified to have such powerful allies in his group. Other than Vereina, who might leave in the future, he could never see Lereza and Illumina leave him. They also protected Myria, so he wanted to reward them again, but what did he have that would make them happy?
"You truly have become a legend… an infamous one, if I may say…"
A jet-black-haired man clad in a black robe spoke. His countenance was superior, and his physique appeared to be quite a bit bulky. His brows were thick, and he possessed dominant and handsome features. However, his expression appeared rather complicated when he looked at Davis.
He was none other than the Variant Dark Dragon- Four-Eyed Dark Dragon.
"Boss! I have longed to meet you all this time! Is senior Nadia well?" Another man, a purple-haired youth, jumped and shot a look of excitement at Davis.
He was none other than the Phantom Gaze Cobra.
Davis looked at these two men and couldn't help but chuckle.
"Four-Eyed Dark Dragon. Didn't you want to rip my throat and drink my blood for the humiliation? You will never gain another chance. I won't be able to kill you."
"…"
The Variant Dark Dragon's brows sank. He recalled the rumors about the Covenant but smiled sheepishly, "That was just a figure of speech. I can't believe you took that seriously."
"Haha." Davis laughed lightly.
He knew this dark dragon could be shameless if he wanted. He was also a schemer since he tried to confuse or even really tame Calypsea back then when she had just become a spirit and was curious and innocent about the world.
"Well, figure of speech or not- If any of you want to assess your strength against me and know your status in this mini-realm, then this is the chance. After I let you go to roam free here, I can't be bothered to discipline you all, after all. It is best if you can keep yourselves in check. On the other hand, Nadia is well. She even gave birth to our children, three of them."
"What!?" The Phantom Gaze Cobra jumped two meters high in the sky.
A Nether Springs Death Wolf actually gave birth to a human-beast fey? Not one, but three of them? He had not even seen one or could even recall one from his memories. After all, these death wolves died out because they couldn't reproduce properly due to death energy, so how come intermixing between unrelated races can happen?
He felt that this was rarer than a realm concoction happening.
"Congratulations, Divine Emperor of Death. May they all live well long and bring you endless gratification."
The shock only lasted for a few seconds. The Phantom Gaze Cobra quickly came out of his reverie and cupped his hands.
Davis nodded. He really liked the Phantom Gaze Cobra, as he could be aggressive or passive depending on the situation. In other words, someone who knew how to survive, but because of that, it is also not good to trust him easily.
He was happy seeing them, considering he saved their lives and saw that it didn't go to waste. However, looking at them being injured, he wanted to heal and let them rest for some time.
"Threelotus, make them a temporary place to rest. It's best if there's one for each of them since they're all experts in their own right who got screwed by an Upper Realm yet are still standing, wanting to find a better life."
"Yes~" Threelotus bowed.
"Lest Mistwalker, isn't your life jade still in your power's hand? Will they not use it to track you down?"
"…"
Hearing those words, Lest Mistwalker shot a wry smile, "Yufella's karmic veil technique still works. It directly conceals my soul connection with many objects like life jade, so it has become difficult for the Mistwalker Family to find me. A year ago, they sent people to track me down, but after not finding a trace of me for so long, I guess they decided not to use so many resources."
"I see. Come with me then. I have a few things I want to ask you more about."
Davis nodded. He felt that it made sense and didn't doubt it.
"Many thanks for having me."
Lest Mistwalker cupped his hands and bowed.
He was afraid of getting thrown out or simply murdered in cold blood. After all, what did the Divine Emperor of Death need from him? Nothing.
It wouldn't have been any strange if the Divine Emperor of Death was massively pissed off from the Covenant and decided to take it on strangers. He was an Autarch, after all. He was free to be killed, unlike the magical beasts he was with.
Davis also called the Variant Dark Dragon, Phantom Gaze Cobra, Wind Phoenix, and the Illusory Sunshade Fox.
He didn't have much contact with the Illusory Sunshade Fox, but he was aware that he was a silent yet attentive magical beast fox. His illusion arts were almost on par with Illumina's before her evolution.
He sent Myria and the others away but retained Illumina.
He then heard the story of their journey from them after Illumina left them to go save her Empress.
Apparently, that was the turning point. Illumina had been a strong force that could keep things under control. Since she left, it seems that the group appeared more rowdy, often engaging in squabbles and disagreements, which lowered the efficiency of the group.
Illumina also protected Lest Mistwalker from this rowdy magical beast group, but after she left, that role fell on the Phantom Gaze Cobra and the Pelagic Serenity Turtle. The others often made it difficult to move around efficiently, seeking to kill Lest Mistwalker since he was ordering them around like they were his magical beast mounts.
"What can I do? I can create various formations, but some formations still need people to man them. Even if there is no one to man, using the formations as an advantage, we could make plenty of progress, but these magical beasts refuse to listen to me. I had a much easier time when Illumina was with us."
Lest Mistwalker complained. His face was aggrieved while the others glared at him, seemingly having their own complaints.
"I see."
Davis could tell that this man had it hard. He was just a supreme genius but was then forced to team up with prisoners who had been deemed evil. They were way more powerful than him, and it endangered his life, so he rushed his cultivation and looked rather disheveled.
