Chapter 280: Richard's Wrath
Chapter 280: Richard's Wrath
"Damn It! Damn it! Where is it." Fleet Commander Richard cursed after order the pirate to dig a third hole in the sandy floor.
Lucan turned to the others and gave them the signal. They couldn't wait any longer. They originally had decided to not attack at first. It would have been nice if the pirates had dug up treasure for them, but it looks like that won't be the case.
After receiving Lucan's signal, The group of players began to take action. The sneaky players entered stealth and crept into the cavern. Step by step they inched closer to the five pirates.
When the time was right, seven players emerged from stealth while there daggers and swords plunged into the backs of the pirates.
"Charge!" Someone yelled.
It didn't matter that they alerted the pirates, the players didn't plan on hiding anymore.
Running into the cavern, the tanks arrived first. Arrows and spells flew over their heads and into the pirates after the stealth fighters backed off. They didn't retreat though until they got in ta few good hits.
Lucan ran in with the melee fighters. He was chanting as he ran. When he finished, shadows rolled out from him in every direction and then figures made from the shadows themselves emerged from his domain.
Since his shadow prowess was enhanced while the shadow domain was activated, the warlock create a spear made of shadow that floated over his head. Once his shadow servants dove towards the pirates, the spear followed behind them and poked out at the last moment and dove in Fleet Commander Richards chest.
"No, No, No, how can this be? Where is the treasure?" Richard screamed while ignoring the players. He had set his heart and soul on finding the pirate kings treasure and yet he didn't find a thing. This journey had cost him three ships, three crews and he could only imagine how his own crew ended up. The Fleet Commander's bloodshot eyes started to shake as he lost it.
"AHHHHHH!!!!!!" Fleet Commander Richard let out a wail of despair as he lost it.
*Bang*
He pulled a black powder pistol from his coat and fire point blank at the warrior how had just run up to him.
The Willow warrior flew backwards, getting yanked off his feet and lost three-quarters of his health.
"You, you, you It's all your fault!" Fleet Commander Richard screamed while pointing towards the players as the last of his pirates was cut down. Richard pulled a dagger from his belt. "You will all pay for what you have done to my crew. BLOOD SACRIFICE!" He screamed as he plunged the dagger into his own stomach and then fell face first onto the sandy floor.
The cavern began to shake as blood pooled around the Commander who fell to the floor face first. While the players struggle to stay on their feet, sand began to swirl around Richard.
When enough sand had pilled in the center, Fleet Commander Richard's body was completely hidden. And then the sand began to move, but what emerged was no longer the fleet commander.
A slight tremble went through the ground as a ten meter tall sandy creature rose from the ground. The creature took the form of Commander Richard, despite the fact that it was five times as large as the man. It resembled a golem made of sand.
"DDDIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!" The creature moaned as one of its large fists came crashing towards the ground.
*Bang*
Sand scattered, a crater was made and two players were crushed.
One of the priest began to chant. It was still early on in the fight, so it would be a waste to try and resurrect them.
Since Lucan's domain was still active, he order his shadow servants to attack the large golem. He then dismantled his shadow spear and constructed a shadow chain. The chain was thrown out and wrapped around the golems leg, but the sand was not a solid object. It was able to part and let the chain move through its leg without slowing its progress while the golem continued to walk forward.
*Bang*
The golem threw another fist towards the floor. But this time, Tango and a warrior ran forward and went to block the blow. Both tanks were able to remain on their feet and lose only a quarter of their health. That was an amount that the healers would be able to quickly restore.
The golem huffed in anger before raising his fist again. As the fist raised higher into the air, the sand that made the ground began to rush towards it. Fleet Commander's Fist turned into a large hammer made of sand before coming down.
*BOOM*
The hammer fist crashed into the ground. Tango and the warrior didn't dare to block such a large blow and rolled out of the way at the last moment.
The melee and ranged fighters weren't just staring. They started attacking as soon as the golem came into being. But because of its sandy nature, the creature was able to only take minimal damage from physical attacks. When sliced, new sand would fill the wound, when smash, new sand would repair the cracks, when pierced by an arrow, the arrow would keep flying and exit the back while new sand filled the whole.
Each attack still did damage, but their were no critical attacks landed.
The spell casters were having a little bit of an easier time. But the golem still had a huge health pool.
The fight had been going on for twenty minutes and the bosses health was falling, but slowly.
Milocara was one of the players who noticed the boss's weakness. He got a few melee players to follow him and took action.
The sand that Fleet Commander Richard was made out of, was a damp sand since it came from deep in a cavern that was close to sea level. The cryomancer didn't know why it took him so long to think of.
He ran towards the legs of the golem while Tango and the other tanks distracted it.
With a flying kung fu kick, he struck the creatures leg while his own was wrapped in cold energy. After his kick he worked around the leg while throwing frozen punches and elbows that penetrated deep into the sand.
Running behind him were fighting and swordsman. Their axes. Hammers and swords, crashed into the frozen sand that covered the creatures legs. The frozen sand began to break off in large chunks.
Milocara circled around and struck into the voids where sandy flesh had been removed. The sand froze again instead of recovering.
Move players had noticed the martial artists strategy and were eager to help. Since the melee players were still doing damage to the original frozen parts, the range players sent a few arrows into the creatures leg. The newly frozen flesh was cracked off.
"RAHHH!!!!"
The golem let out a roar as its leg was finally separated from his body. The large creature then crashed toward the ground.
With a proper strategy and another fifteen minutes, even though a number of players were killed, the golem eventually turned gray and disappeared. The interface announced the raid had been completed. Lucan and his original party of five glance at the loot that was dropped, since none of them could make good use of it, they left the raid and headed straight for the party dungeon that had to be redone.
