Fallen Fate Online

Chapter 117 Three Blades

Regardless of who it was, the crew or the audience, everyone saw a silhouette behind Zayne. Only Jill could see it clearly, while to the others it seemed to be some kind of special effect.

However, there was one other person among them who saw a black wolf behind Zayne, and that was Galahan. Initially, he had been worried about which way Jill was headed, but now, looking at his phone screen, he had a mad grin on his face.

'Hahaha, I never imagined it would come to this. It was a dangerous question, I wanted to avoid the subject, but it looks like Jill couldn't help herself.' Galahan chuckled inwardly, watching the comments, 'These idiots think it's special effects... Well, that's fine, let it stay that way.'

Step. Step. Step.

Galahan put the phone in his pocket and headed for the operator.

"Mr. Galahan...?" The man muttered in confusion.

Galahan smirked, "I think it's time to end. The interview was short, but it couldn't have come at a better moment."

Crackle.

Galahan pressed the button as the live broadcast stopped. Galahan had slightly different plans, but he knew how to take advantage of the situation.

"That's it, that's enough. You can all rest now." Galahan waved as he approached Zayne.

Zayne glanced at him with an ice-cold look that made Galahan flinch, but unlike Jill, he was not frozen with fear.

"Calm down. It's all over now, and if it's important to you, this question wasn't part of the plan, consider it our mistake." Galahan shrugged with a nonchalant look.

Zayne turned to Jill, who was now afraid to make any sound, and took a deep breath. He stood up and stepped aside with a wave of his hand, "In that case, I'll be going. Send me the bill for the table, I'll take care of it."

Galahan patted Jill on the shoulder and followed Zayne. He put his arm around him, and leaned over and said, "Hey, I understand that you're annoyed, but do you really have to leave right away? Let's go to my house, to the top of the skyscraper. I'm sure you'll enjoy the view much more than here."

Galahan headed for the elevator while Zayne watched his receding back. Zayne looked around, took a deep breath, and followed Galahan. He didn't know why, but he felt something important was about to happen upstairs.

Crackle.

The elevator doors closed as they headed upward, leaving the crew, who were just now beginning to recover from the shock.

"Damn... I didn't think this guy was that strong...? He's definitely a common player?" Someone muttered with a dazed expression.

"I'm not sure, but that was impressive... Jill, are you okay? Do you look scared?" The man said, scratching the back of his head.

Jill nodded slowly, "I'm fine... I think I need to avoid questions like that next time... I guess all the top players in Fallen Fate Online are real psychos."

...

Crackle.

The elevator stopped when they reached the 101st floor, the 102nd and 103rd floors were the last, and they all belonged to Galahan personally.

"Damn... How much did it all cost?" Zayne muttered looking around. A few seconds was enough to notice the rare paintings, various museum pieces, and other valuable items.

"Heh, you better not know about that, I don't want you to have a heart attack from those numbers." Galahan smirked, "Anyway, I brought you here because I wanted to show you something. Follow me."

They ascended to the third floor, which overlooked the entire city, even most of the other skyscrapers were now down and above cloud level. Zayne couldn't imagine such a thing being possible in the real world.

One of the rooms was different because it was Galahan's personal collection of weapons. On the stands and in the glass vaults were everything from daggers and short swords to long spears and massive axes that seemed to be used by warriors from the Middle Ages.

"Are you a fan of ancient weapons? Honestly, I didn't expect that from you at all." Zayne asked, looking at the huge sword in the center of the hall.

Galahan waved his hand, "Well, I'm just a collector. All these weapons are real. I mean, once upon a time, that sword or that spear over there, belonged to some warrior. However, one thing is a favorite of mine."

Galahan stepped aside and walked over to a stand that held three blades with azure hilts and black blades.

He took one blade and muttered, "It was very difficult to get them, they belonged to a king from the southern lands, many hundreds of years ago, and somehow preserved in near-perfect condition. Getting them was almost as hard as getting everything else together."

"Surely you must have given a hell of a lot of money for them, but...is that really why you brought me here? You just wanted to show off your collection?" Zayne tilted his head in confusion since he expected something more from a man as powerful as Galahan.

Galahan twirled the blade in his hand and with a slight nod said, "Yeah, but I had another purpose. I wanted you to experience my arsenal for yourself."

"Hmm? What does that mean?" Zayne didn't understand, then his pupils narrowed at the sheen of the metal, while the dagger was heading toward him at tremendous speed.

Crackle.

Instinctively, Zayne grabbed the blade by the hilt, stopping it at the last moment. The blade tip was right in front of his eye.

"What was that?" Zayne asked as he stared at Galahan with an ice-cold look, "If you want to fight, I assure you, you will lose and I don't care if you are the owner of the Platinum Post."

Galahan smirked, "Yeah, it's obvious. I don't stand a chance against you. You were able to defeat Apostle, so to you, I am no stronger than an ordinary knight. By the way, didn't it confuse you that an average guy could stop a blade thrown with such force?"

Zayne's eyes went wide as he realized what was going on, "Wait... Do you know..."

"Hahaha, of course, I know! As you said, I'm the owner of the Platinum Post! Do you really think a man with so many sources of information could not know about what's going on with our world?" Galahan exclaimed with an excited expression.

Zayne gulped, only then did he realize how stupid he was being. Even when he was in the park, someone could have secretly filmed him, it didn't happen, but that didn't mean the other top players weren't caught.

Galahan folded his arms behind his back and walked over to the window that gave him a view of the mountains in the distance. He took a deep breath and said, "However, that doesn't mean I only found out about it because of my position. You know, it's pretty weird when you come to the gym after a few days of playing Fallen Fate and start lifting weights that were hard for you before."

Galahan continued, "Anyway, this process is unstoppable, and more and more people will notice it every day. Right now there aren't many of us, and we're keeping it a secret, but soon there will be those who want to talk about it, it's just inevitable."

Zayne silently put the dagger down and stood next to Galahan. He stared calmly at the mountains, while various thoughts raced through his mind.

It was the beginning of a new world, and everyone had to decide what to do and which path to take.
