Fallen Fate Online

Chapter 120 Power

Martial arts were invented to increase a person's possible force through various techniques. Among two people of equal strength the one who knows some martial art would always win, that was the main goal.

However, if the opponent was too strong, the techniques were useless, and that's exactly what Alex was experiencing right now.

Though he didn't want to, his arms were slowly moving away from Zayne's neck, releasing him from captivity.

Crackle.

Zayne squeezed Alex's arms with his might, then he stepped forward and threw Alex over himself, collapsing him to the ground.

Alex's face twisted in pain, but he came to his senses quickly and bounced back, doing a somersault. Each of his movements was swift and fluid.

"Fuck... I didn't see that coming..." Alex muttered, kneading his hands, "There's no way even a martial artist can beat a bear, right?"

Whoooooooooosh.

Alex waved his hands behind his back as two short daggers with sharp rounded blades appeared in his hands.

"However, humanity can adapt to anything. If techniques don't work against a bear, then something else is needed, like a weapon, isn't it?" Alex smirked as he stepped forward.

"Oh... I thought this was going to be a simple sparring match, but it looks like the stakes are going up." Zayne sighed before getting into a fighting stance.

"I saw your fight against those two, I think their names are Andre and Tina, right?" Alex smirked, walking forward confidently.

Zayne nodded, "Yeah, and you're my third opponent in a row to use blades. I guess I can already call myself an expert at dealing with opponents like that."

"Well, I'm a lot stronger than they are, not even considering the stats from Fallen Fate." Alex narrowed his eyes with a sly smirk.

"Agh... Unfortunately for you, you're wrong about something." Zayne shook his head.

"Hmm?" Alex tilted his head in confusion.

Whoooooooooooooooooosh.

Zayne's silhouette blurred, in a heartbeat appearing right in front of Alex. Alex's pupils narrowed as he swung his blades quickly, but Zayne was already behind him.

"You're a long way from his level." Zayne said coldly as he turned sharply, knocking Alex down with a kick.

Alex didn't have time to react and lost his balance, then, Zayne's leg slammed into his stomach, throwing him a few feet away.

"That's enough, isn't it?" Zayne said calmly, keeping his hands in his pockets.

"Shit... That hurt." Alex spat a clot of blood, shook off the dust, and returned his blades to their places, "Yeah, I can't beat you, at least not now, but who were you talking about?"

"About Apostle. You have great skills, but he... Damn, you have no idea what he did to me and my team. It was just a beating." Zayne spoke with a deep look in which Alex saw all the feelings Zayne had experienced during that fight.

Alex nodded, picked up his jacket, and headed for the exit, "Good luck. We'll contact you when we need you. I hope Galahan wasn't wrong about you."

"I too..." Zayne whispered, exhaling cold steam passing over his shoulders and like a ghost enveloping him.

Zayne stared at the moon for a while before entering his new home. He put the key in, turned the lock, and saw a real scene from the movie. From the inside, the house was spacious, bright, and stylish, with everything he needed to live.

'Well, I think I'll still have time to take a good look around, but where is the most important thing?' Zayne pondered, looking for the capsule room until he reached the second floor.

In the middle was the capsule, as if it were the center of the universe. It was already on with the lid open, so Zayne only had to sink into it.

"Fine, it's time to move on. I urgently need to get a Class, or I won't be able to advance my level. Maybe I should have done it sooner, but something tells me that Gael's Quest will get me where I need to be." Zayne muttered, closing his eyes and returning to the world he was already used to.

Whoooooooooooooooosh.

Zayne appeared in the same place, in the woods near Red Feather City. It was night, and the normal people were asleep, but it was a perfect time for predators acting under a cloak of darkness.

Just as Zayne appeared, red eyes appeared from the bushes, as well as sharp fangs capable of tearing even the densest flesh apart.

Gradually several silhouettes surrounded Zayne, the wolves circling him slowly, choosing the right moment to attack.

[You got the Quest!]

[Wolf Pack Attack.

You were attacked by wolves lurking in the forest. Kill them or escape to survive, otherwise, the wolves will tear you apart! They are hungry and won't spare you in any way if you stand still!]

"Hah, don't be silly." Zayne shook his head with a bitter smile and stepped forward, "I don't know why, but I'm pretty sure these puppies won't do anything to me. Compared to HIM, they're nothing."

Zayne stepped forward, straight to one of the wolves. The beast roared furiously, about to pounce on Zayne, but at the very last moment, the wolf stepped aside, seeing Zayne off. The wolves were hungry, but even in such a situation, they could not go against their instincts, telling them they had no chance to win.

[Quest Completed!]

[You got 150 EXP!]

'Damn, I really should hurry. While everyone else is getting stronger, I'm just standing still. Until I get Class, then all the experience I've gained will just go to waste...'' Zayne inwardly muttered as his gaze grew serious.

Zayne didn't wait until morning or notify anyone that he had left Red Feather City, as he wanted to focus entirely on his goal.

'There are too many things going on in this city... Every day is full of events, so now I need to go back to a quieter place for a while.' Zayne looked into the distance, at the small village where his journey had begun.
