Chapter 61: Barbarian Luo sad past

Chapter 61: Barbarian Luo sad past

The lively Frost Fall Academy Cafeteria returned to its former desolate state as everyone left to go on their way. Christopher and Jennifer had left together to celebrate their happy reunion with a blast and ahem, while Patricia walked with Whittaker till she split up with him in the middle of the path to go to the girl's dormitory. While Whittaker headed towards the Service Hall to exchange his royal credit points for currency and use the delivery service to send money to his family.

Service Hall is located nearby the Punishment Hall. Punishment Hall is the place where Barbarian Luo was sent to receive 30 lashes, a punishment deserving of his misbehavior.

Excitedly, Whittaker was skipping while walking on a stable path. The Royal Frost Academy was very vast, and it had dozens of places, each place had its specific purpose.

He thought, 'There are a lot of professions in the world, and Magic Chef might not be the most suitable for me. I should first learn the one that can help me make fortune at the fastest rate possible.'

Whittaker was interested in the magic chef profession, but it didn't curb his interest in money. His interest is bound to be laid on the profession that has the greatest income rate, no matter how boring or interesting other professions be.

As he was skidding, in some minutes, he reached someplace nearby the service Hall.

There he heard some people talking about Barbarian Luo, and he understood what happened to him.

"The whips used to punish him was made out of 4-star Dark Iron Cobra King Skin. A 4-star whip made out of its skin can seep into the body of a C-rank Battle master while Barbarian Luo isn't even a peak D-rank Battle master. A single whip had lead to him receiving a skin branding that can't be healed or erased by normal means." A man wearing the punishment hall badge said to the woman beside him while waving his tongue over his lips, revealing his twisted sadistic nature.

"The punishment was so cruel that Barbarian Luo has been taken to the Medic Center of the Royal Frost Fall City, as he couldn't recover otherwise. Levi, why was Headmaster so angry? I haven't seen him so angry in the past three years." Shelly asked in confusion.

Whittaker felt bad for Barbarian Luo, but this feeling lessened as he remembered that Barbarian Luo was going for his life, and he would have died or gotten hurt badly if Headmaster didn't interfere.

"I heard it's because he obstructed the path of a commoner that Headmaster personally invited to the Academy. You know how he is, he hates commoners because he lost his family in the hands of Syphinxz." Jordan replied to Shelly in place of Levi.

'Could it be that his hatred for the terrorist organization led him to hate commoner as well?' Whittaker thought. He was right on the mark. Nobles feared and hated the Syphinxz. Their fear turns into hatred, and this hatred is directed towards the only option plausible, the commoners!

Barbarian Luo has lost his family in the hand of Syphinxz, an organization made up of commoners. His suppressed hatred for that Organization was directed towards all Commoner, and Whittaker was the unlucky outlet. An outlet where he decided to burst out all his emotions upon.

"Che, he didn't shout even once when he was getting whipped, just like the day when Headmaster brought him to the Academy." Levi, the sadist said. Barbarian Luo didn't moan in pain even once, even though the whip has seeped into his skin. Such was his hard-headed personality. Everyone in the Punishment Hall was amazed by his tenacity.

When Barbarian Luo lost his family and felt lost in the snow, he trained to one day fight against the Syphinxz, but his potential was low, so was the rank of his class weapon, a soul type orb with four attributes. When hatred has clouded his soul and he was wandering aimlessly in the cold and training. He was trying to find redemption by becoming strong or salvation by death, it was Headmaster Yeon that came to save him.

Headmaster Yeon and Barbarian Luo path crossing together was a simple coincidence, yet this encounter became a fortunate blessing for him. Before going away, Headmaster has told him,

"It's a cruel world, but life is not what it seems, not at all. If you can curb some of your hatred then come to the Royal Frost Fall Academy, and I will bestow you a direction, a path that you can tread on. If hatred still clouds your eyes then forget you ever met me."

Walking for ten-day with his words in his mind, Barbarian Luo came to a decision. And his decision gave meaning to his life.

Headmaster has shown him light that's why he was eternally loyal to him, but the hatred was still suppressed in his heart. The hatred he held for Syphinxz that slaughtered the noble family of Gajin. He hated the bastards that killed his newborn son, and butchered his wife, parents, and siblings!

"Let's not talk about him, he's no fun!" Levi added as any topic that didn't contain the depression of a victim was boring to this sadist.

Silently, Whittaker walked past them. The three punishers weren't interested in a kid as children below 14 couldn't be punished harshly for their actions.

After a minute or so, he reached the service Hall. There were many machines in the service Hall. In the racks, many pamphlets explained how these things work.

Each machine had its own property and provided distinct service to a customer. The alchemists are the mastermind behind these technologies. Also, the mage king is the greatest backer of the Alchemist Association.

Whittaker already knew the way some of them work as he had read about them in books, but he was still excited because of witnessing these machines in real life.

He went to a nearby currency trading machine: For short it's CTM.
