Chapter 359 The Restless Night!
Following the source of the aura, Xin Yan rushed to the spot and appeared in the garden where she saw Elysia disappearing in Noah's arms.
She could not help but feel herself choking a little seeing them this close when she was standing far away from him, but what happened made her mind go blank.
Xin Yan watched as Noah's lips touched Elysia's before she disappeared. It was as if time had stilled and the same scene kept on playing in her mind.
*Shatter!*
She heard a shattering voice in her mind and snapped out of her daze. It was then that everything struck her at the same time. For a fleeting moment, she felt as if her whole world had fallen apart, leaving her alone in the ruins.
Standing there, she looked at Noah's back, feeling her chest tightening in pain and jealousy. Even though she had realized it long ago, the moment she came to know about Evelyn, being with Noah meant accepting him and having more women.
'Even though I knew it before… why… why is it so hard? Why is it so painful?' Xin Yan clenched her hands into fists, digging her nails into her palms deep enough to draw blood. Yet somehow, there were no tears in her eyes.
Even with all of the turmoil of emotions in her heart, there was only one emotion that she was feeling the most. It was intense jealousy, even though she knew it was selfish, but she wished to be the person who was standing there instead of Elysia.
"Noah…" After getting her emotions in as much control as she could, Xin Yan called out to him, noticing that he was lost in his thoughts, but she failed to control her emotions fully.
Her voice crackled and came out ominous and cold, filled with the bitter emotions in her heart. She hadn't realized it, but even her eyes were pulsing with dragon aura, releasing its pressure unknowingly.
…
Noah could not help but shiver hearing a familiar voice calling out to him. He could sense the depth of emotions in the voice just from one word. He turned around and saw Xin Yan standing there with a smile on her face.
Her eyes were crescent moon-like, while Noah's attention was caught by a few drops of glowing bluish-red blood on the ground beside her. Even though the cuts on her palm were already healed, he immediately knew that it was her blood.
As a couple of breaths of time passed, the silence between the two of them remained the same. Noah wanted to say something but could not bring himself to say anything… No… he did not know what to say at all.
Even his thousands of years of experience failed to give him a few words to say to the woman in front of him.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
It was not just her; even Xin Yan was the same. Although she had called out to him, seeing the sadness on his face, everything she thought of asking him and telling him vanished instantly. Only a single thought remained in her heart.
'Who was the reason that made him make that face?'
"What happened?" The soft tone in her voice, completely opposite to the one she just used to call out his name, made a warm smile appear on Noah's face. He let out a deep sigh and explained everything that happened between him and Elysia, leaving out the part she had already seen.
"No wonder, I could feel the laws of the world-shaking from time to time." Hearing the deep revelation, Xin Yan pondered on his words seriously.
"Is she going to be— " Before she realized it, Xin Yan asked, worried about Elysia's health, but later she stopped herself in the middle.
"She will be fine, I will not let the same thing happen twice." Xin Yan shivered seeing Noah looking at her with his warm and unwavering gaze, but his voice was completely different. It was so cold that it sent shivers down her spine.
But even then his words made her heart quiver in pain, the pain felt like mockery to her. Like someone saying that he fell in love with Elysia but he feels nothing for her.
"Come with me." Xin Yan, who had her head lowered, looked up and saw Noah's clear eyes. They were sparkling with the clear light of the moonlight. In the reflection of his eyes, she finally saw it, her eyes, vertical slits of blue splits. She saw Noah extending his open hands for her to take.
*BA-Dump!* *BA-Dump!*
Her heart trembled to see the hand; it started to beat harder and faster. She feared that Noah might hear the sound of her heart. Raising her own trembling hands, she placed it on Noah's hand.
"Where?" Noah chuckled lightly hearing her innocent words. Seeing how she was so eager to hold his hands without even knowing where he wanted to take her made him chuckle.
'What an idiot.'
With a smile on his face, Noah pulled her towards the narrow path of the garden made for walking. "We are going for a short stroll, starting tomorrow, we have a tough future ahead of us."
Sensing the tone of seriousness in his voice, Xin Yan nodded silently and followed the path he took her on. Unknown to her, there was a smile on her face and all of her negative emotions had long disappeared from her heart.
All of her attention was on the man beside her. After a silent stroll around the garden, Xin Yan found herself alone in her room leaning against the closed door, looking at the ceiling in a daze.
Lowering her head, she looked at the hand she used to hold Noah's hand and brought it closer to her beating heart and thought. 'It won't be long…'
*Thump!*
Approaching the bed, she threw herself in the sheets before shifting in them, unable to sleep. She covered her whole body in those sheets and in some time, weird giggles started to sound from underneath it. From time to time.
While Xin Yan stayed awake trying to sleep in her bed, the next day arrived before she could even succeed with that.
