Chapter 146: Hidden Abilities

Alex looked slightly worried, he was happy for Rachel but he didn't know what his true potential was. In just a short span of time, Midnight was so much more powerful than Alex and Rachel, who didn't even have powers is now at B rank and Hades says that she has the potential to be a strong person.

'Hmm, Kid Why are you so worried? Who said that she would stay an opponent to you? Hell, who said that she will reach her peak quick enough to catch up to you? From what I see here, except for that enigma of a person, Hana. Your potential for strength is a lot higher than you think. You have no idea of my origins yet, and you don't know the proper origin of strength and energy itself. All you know is that people are given it out of random. But for now, I will say, You'll reach a level where you could decide the fates of those S ranked awakened with just a thought.' Hades laughed.

Hearing Hades, Alex felt awe. He didn't know how he would reach it but He had belief in the system and in Hades. 'We really haven't thought through this entire power thing properly though Well, At least the general public doesn't know that much. My previous world just took it as you were born with powers and the history of having abilities was over a hundred years old. While here, It's still comparatively new with only around 25 years of having powers Which does put me to question, Hades Were the abilities in my world from the same source as the ones here?' Alex asked.

However, before Alex got his answer, Rachel spoke, "Well, Alex. I need to go. I have something to do. I hope we can have a chat later on. I'm sure Oliver just found someone he wants to follow as well." She laughed as Over continued to stare at Alex.

Alex nodded and spoke, "I guess till next time." HE watched as Rachel walked out of the room.

Midnight looked over at Alex and smiled, "Well, I guess I gotta run as well. I'll call a cab. Ryan wants to meet you." She pointed over to her phone and laughed. 

Hearing Midnight, Alex spoke, "I hoped we could get another round. I haven't been able to properly use my powers after coming back and want to know more about it." Alex knew that there were still many more abilities that he could try out.

Midnight also looked disappointed but she shrugged and spoke, "It's the awakened Life. Gates are at an all time high. This was my break time so we'll battle next time. For now, you're safe because you just returned but soon, you will have to work to the bone to take down these gates that just keep on coming. Higher ranked gates aren't increasing in number but the amount of lower ranked gates are very high so now, we'll also need to be involved in dealing with them. Luckily, looking at our powers, we are given the permission to take on them alone so It'll be fun battles." She smiled.

Alex nodded and walked to the door. Midnight walked out as well and looked over at Alex, "Well, bye for now." She smiled and walked into a room. Alex walked to the train and headed to the hotel.

'Kid, I'll answer your question now. They are related indeed. Every world out there is connected to the same place. The origin is something you will have to learn in the future. You'll have to deal with the reapers for now. Once you take down the leader of the Reapers, I'll share more information. Until then, you're not worthy for it. And for a scale of power, The leader reaper is a lot stronger than the ones who nearly killed you in the void. So, you'll have to be gaining strength by taking down the weaker ones.' Hades explained slowly. 

' The system now works a tiny differently than before. However, the essence is almost the same. You kill enemies, you steal their strength and gain more power. Once you reach a certain power, It seems to reward you in gaining power. And it also seems to be allowing you more opportunities to gain power You notice something weird about the gates that appear. Remember the past gates that you were involved in clearing Just think about it and tell me if you remember something important.' Hades continued.

Alex thought back to when he fought the new types of reapers coming from the evolving gate. It seemed to be a wave system like in games. Alex thought, 'It was almost like the gate was the one which was summoned by me It was more like a surviving wave from games and I remember wanting to try out my powers in battle and the gate appearing around that time I thought it was a coincidence but when you put it that way, there might be a pattern.' He was trying to put things together.

Hades laughed, 'Haha! You're at least not a complete dumb lad. That's exactly true. The powers of the system are very mysterious and some things even I can't explain. My knowledge goes as far back as I lived But this power is even older. It's as old as the universe itself. But I can tell you this, The system has the ability to call gates for you to use and gain strength. Trust in the system to gain more power. Once you have completed your meetings with those who called you earlier, I'd recommend you calling for gates to appear in a more remote area. That way, you'll have time to take it on and gain strength. The strength of reapers from the gates seems to vary but they also seem to be changeable so I'll do that. I won't go easy on you so get ready for a good hard battle once you want to take on a gate and get more powerful!'
