Chapter 13: There’s Someone More Handsome than the Security Captain!

Neither Bai Zhou nor Li Yonggang realized that such a simple matter had sparked such absurd speculation in the mind of the security guard.

If Li Yonggang had heard this, the anger he had just suppressed might have flared up again:

“What do you mean, I’m following his orders?!”

“I just think his suggestion made sense since I’m here to apologize!”

“Why do I have to listen to him? He’s just one of my dad’s subordinates!!”

Of course, such a scene wouldn’t happen. The security guard wouldn’t dare voice his thoughts to Li Yonggang.

However, upon hearing Li Yonggang’s words, the guard was left with some confusion: “Apologize?”

“Yeah!” Li Yonggang casually nodded and said, “I know that because of my past actions, I’ve caused a lot of trouble for your President Mu. So, this time, I’m here specifically to apologize. And as for the guys behind me, they’ll stay outside and won’t come in. Don’t worry.”

“Wha … what?” Li Yonggang’s words left the guard completely dumbfounded. Was this really the same Li Yonggang standing in front of him? Had Li Yonggang been eaten by some kind of monster?! Had he turned over a new leaf? And done a full 180 at that?! What kind of joke was this?

If it weren’t for the overwhelming presence of the dozen underlings standing behind him, the guard might have blurted out a curse in disbelief.

“Could it be … because of that man?”

Once again, the security guard’s gaze shifted to Bai Zhou.

This time, he wasn’t wrong.  Li Yonggang’s decision to come and apologize was entirely thanks to Bai Zhou, the master trickster!

At this moment, the sound of footsteps echoed from Mu Hai Group’s plaza. A group of men in gray security uniforms, each holding a baton, ran toward them.

Leading the group was none other than the security captain, the original male lead of the novel, Chu Yun, his handsome face contorted in anger.

Just as Chu Yun arrived on the scene, on the 25th floor of the 30-story Mu Hai Group building, an urgent knock came at the door of an office.

Inside, Mu Qingqing, her flawless face adorned with light makeup, sat at her desk reviewing documents.

When she heard the knock, she looked up and said: “Come in.”

Her secretary quickly pushed open the door, speaking as soon as she entered: “President Mu, it’s bad news! Young Master Li Yonggang is here again!”

“What?”

Hearing her secretary’s words, Mu Qingqing’s brows furrowed instantly, her eyes filled with irritation.

“Kick them out! Tell him if he doesn’t leave, I’ll call the police!”

The secretary nodded but added hesitantly: “Chu Yun has already gone over with the security team, but …”

“But what?” Mu Qingqing asked, her curiosity piqued by the secretary’s hesitation.

“But … Young Master Li is wearing a very … um … strange suit today, and he’s holding a bouquet of flowers. He hasn’t barged in like usual; he’s negotiating with the security guard.”

“Hmm?” Mu Qingqing’s eyes flashed with surprise at the description.

A strange suit, holding a bouquet? And instead of forcing his way in, he’s negotiating with the guard?  

“Has Li Yonggang turned over a new leaf?”

Even Mu Qingqing couldn’t help but wonder.

But she quickly shook her head and said: “Even if he comes here on his knees, throw him out!”

“Got it!”

As Mu Qingqing’s secretary, she knew how much her boss detested Li Yonggang.

As she left the office, she muttered under her breath: “But … there was a really handsome guy among the men Young Master Li brought today!”

“Wait!” For some reason, Mu Qingqing suddenly called the secretary back.

The secretary, puzzled, looked back at her boss.

Mu Qingqing asked, “You said one of the men Li Yonggang brought … was handsome?”

“Uh …” The secretary blushed with embarrassment and stammered, “There was … one guy who was really handsome, and honestly, I think he’s even a little more handsome than our security captain, Chu Yun.”

Indeed, Chu Yun, as the original male lead, had quite the looks. Could there really be someone more handsome than the male lead?

Who could it be?  

A thoughtful look flashed in Mu Qingqing’s eyes: “Could it be him?”

The image of the man who had taken off his jacket to cover her flashed through Mu Qingqing’s mind.

Without even realizing it, she glanced at the corner of her office, where a black suit jacket was hanging on a rack.

She had it cleaned and brought back, a quiet reminder of that moment.

“Let them in.”

“What?!”

The secretary looked at Mu Qingqing in shock, unable to believe her ears.

“I said, let them in.”

“Ah! Oh! Okay … okay, I’ll do it right away!”

Although the secretary was full of confusion, she didn’t dare ask any questions! She hurried out, her mind still spinning.

As soon as she stepped outside, she overheard her colleagues gossiping: “Hey! Did you see? Young Master Li brought his men here again. He must be looking for President Mu!”

“Yeah, I saw! I also saw Captain Chu Yun heading over with the security team!”

“I saw too! It looks like they’re about to fight!”

“…”

“What?!”

The secretary’s face turned pale with shock!
