Chapter 21: Goodness, This Woman is Flirting with Me!

This woman glanced from afar at the Mercedes S600L parked by the roadside. She seemed to recognize the license plate starting with “LT” and started walking toward the car.

As she approached, Bai Zhou’s eyes lit up. This woman had an exceptionally high level of beauty. Her deep brown wavy hair bounced behind her with each step. Her flawless figure was accentuated by a finely tailored qipao, and the high slit almost reached her hips.

The fair skin peeking through under the sunlight dazzled Bai Zhou to the point where he felt like he couldn’t even keep his eyes open.

Bai Zhou noted that, although this woman’s “official” age was said to be 30, she looked more like she was in her mid-twenties.

It made Bai Zhou silently marvel, “Li Tai, that old man, really knows how to enjoy life!”

To be honest, this was the first time Bai Zhou had formed a mental image of this woman, Ye Qiantong.

There wasn’t much about her in the original novel. The most memorable part was when Li Tai, before being forced to commit suicide by the original protagonist Chu Yun, shot Ye Qiantong dead.

That was it. But now, seeing Ye Qiantong in person, Bai Zhou wanted to point a finger at Li Tai’s nose and curse, “You’re a beast, Li Tai!”

As Ye Qiantong reached the car door, she stopped, standing there as if waiting for something.

Bai Zhou had no idea what she was waiting for and remained seated in the driver’s seat, making no move. The two of them stayed like that, frozen in place. After a while, Ye Qiantong seemed to grow impatient. She walked to the passenger side and tapped on the window.

Bai Zhou rolled the window down and asked, “Sister-in-law? What’s wrong? Why aren’t you getting in the car?”

Oh boy! You’re seriously asking me why I’m not getting in the car?  

Ye Qiantong’s tone was far from pleasant as she replied, “Get out and open the door! How did Li Tai teach you?!”

“Oh!! Right, right!! I forgot!” Bai Zhou smacked his forehead.

He really had forgotten. A rich lady from a powerful family wasn’t going to get used to opening her own car door.

Of course, Bai Zhou wasn’t yet accustomed to serving others. However … since Bai Zhou still needed to “exploit the power he had,” there were some things he had to do.

He opened the door and got out of the car.

Ye Qiantong wanted to see who this thoughtless underling was. But as soon as she looked up at Bai Zhou, she froze slightly, a glint of light clearly flashing in her eyes.

Bai Zhou was wearing a white shirt, paired with black casual trousers. Because it was a bit hot outside, Bai Zhou had left the top two buttons of his shirt undone, revealing the faint outline of his collarbones.

As Bai Zhou approached, the gleam in Ye Qiantong’s eyes grew even brighter.  Her previous irritation about Bai Zhou not opening the door for her evaporated completely!

Bai Zhou, of course, didn’t notice this. He walked to the back and opened the rear door: “Sister-in-law, please get in.”

But Ye Qiantong replied, “I want to sit in the front.”

Bai Zhou didn’t think much of it.

If the boss tells you to do something, you do it, right?

So, he stepped forward and opened the passenger door. Ye Qiantong slowly bent down and slid into the seat. Her movements were deliberate, as if every action had to be executed perfectly.

The tight qipao accentuated Ye Qiantong’s allure, making Bai Zhou click his tongue in admiration: “What a stunning woman!”

And when Ye Qiantong saw Bai Zhou’s reaction, she smiled slightly, her crimson lips curving in satisfaction.

Clearly, she had achieved her goal.

Bai Zhou shut the door and got back into the driver’s seat. Just as he was about to start the car, Ye Qiantong spoke up from the passenger seat: “Buckle my seatbelt for me.”

“Hmm?” Bai Zhou’s pupils trembled slightly at her request!

This was definitely strange—very strange!

First, someone of her status should be sitting in the back seat, no doubt about it. Second, when did a car with an “LT” plate ever need to follow regular road safety rules like seatbelts? And lastly, why did she want me to buckle her seatbelt?!  

Bai Zhou turned slightly and saw the playful, suggestive smile on Ye Qiantong’s face as she looked at him.

“Wow! This woman is flirting with me!”

No doubt about it, Bai Zhou, who had virtual wives like Rem and Saber, immediately understood what was happening. His “sister-in-law” was definitely up to something.

Is Li Tai not enough for you? Does he know what you’re doing right now?  

Ye Qiantong blinked at him, signaling that she was still waiting for him to buckle her seatbelt.

Slowly, Bai Zhou moved. He leaned over from the driver’s seat, coming closer to Ye Qiantong. Then, he reached out … and pulled the passenger seatbelt over.

Bai Zhou could feel Ye Qiantong’s breath, and to make things worse, Ye Qiantong started speaking, her voice soft, with a teasing, breathy tone: “Are you new here?”

That light, airy voice, accompanied by the warm breath brushing against Bai Zhou’s ear, tickled him.

Goodness!  

Although Bai Zhou wasn’t the type to be easily swayed by women, he was still a man!!

It took all of Bai Zhou’s self-control to hold back!

Without responding, he buckled her seatbelt and returned to his seat. Then, he pulled out the symbolic dagger that represented Li Tai’s authority and said, “The boss handed me this dagger last night.”
