Chapter 96 The Final Floor

August's clone vanished after the successful attack.

He then proceeded to dash around Raegor, appearing behind him and landing a precise strike on his back.

Raegor snarled, spinning around and thrusting his lance at August as the effects of the gravitational force wore off.

He raised activated Arcane Shield but the lance pierced through it like paper.

August got sent flying towards the other end of the wall.

'I can't imagine how much damage that would have done if I still had the basic armor equipped,' He said internally while picking himself up.

Viora kept her healing spells active, restoring the group's health as they took turns attacking. Torin fired arrows from a distance, while Drask tried to hold Raegor's attention with heavy strikes.

Aria cast Mana Surge, boosting everyone's magical abilities. "Focus on his legs! Slow him down!"

August followed her advice, targeting Raegor's knees with Dagger Throw and Lightning Bolt.

The group scrambled to avoid the storm, but their HP bars dwindled rapidly.

"Fuck, I'll run out of HP!" Drask yelled in horror but he wasn't the only one with this issue.

Fortunately, Viora managed to use her ultimate healing spell, Divine Restoration, to keep them alive.

"Hit him with everything you've got!" Aria shouted while casting Inferno Blast. A massive ball of fire descended onto Raegor, dealing immense damage.

Raegor's HP dropped below 5,000. He staggered as his corrupted energy flickered.

"This is it!" August yelled before activating Ethereal Storm.

"That was intense," Torin voiced before collapsing onto the floor. "How the hell are we going to make it to the end of this dungeon?"

Aria smiled faintly. "One floor at a time." She turned to August. "Good work out there. That final hit was clutch."

August nodded while breathing heavily. "Let's take a moment to recover. The next floor is probably worse."

As they shared the loot and prepared to move on, the projection of Raegor's final moments replayed in their minds.

...

...

The 103rd floor was vast and ominous, with the ceiling so high it disappeared into darkness.

The air carried an invisible tension, and the faint glow of ancient runes etched into the stone floor illuminated the surroundings in a cold, bluish hue.

Six players, led by a tall warrior clad in silver armor, stepped cautiously into the open space. Their weapons were drawn, and their eyes darted around, scanning for any threats.

"Looks like we got here first," muttered Krael, the leader of the six. His heavy broadsword rested on his shoulder as he surveyed the room.

Beside him, Liana, a mage with bright orange robes and a staff adorned with a fiery crystal, nodded. "This is it. The final floor. Whatever treasure or legacy lies here, it's ours for the taking."

Behind them were the remaining members: Zeyra, a rogue with daggers glinting in her hands; Dren, a berserker who hefted an enormous axe; Felix, a ranger with a quiver full of arrows; and Vyn, a cleric clutching a glowing orb.

But their confidence faltered when they noticed a group of three standing ahead of them, waiting in front of an enormous, intricately carved door.

These three players exuded an aura of menace. Their black attire blended seamlessly with the shadowy atmosphere. Their levels were hidden, showing only a line of question marks above their heads.

Drakos, the leader of the trio, stood in the center. His blood-red armor seemed to pulsate with a faint glow, and his large, spiky sword looked as if it had been forged in hellfire. His green hair fell messily over his sharp, angular face, and his eyes gleamed with bloodlust.

To his right was Lyriss, an assassin clad in dark leather with a hood that cast a shadow over her piercing green eyes. Her twin daggers dripped with a faint black mist, a telltale sign of poison.

On his left stood Orlma, a mage in a beautiful-looking black and gold robe. Her head was adorned with a crown of silver, and her hands glowed with magical energy. Unlike the other two, her demeanor was calm and calculating.

Drakos smirked as he stepped forward. "Do you lot have the key?"n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Krael narrowed his eyes. "Key? What key?"

Drakos's smirk widened into a grin that could only be described as psychotic. "Let me make it simple. If you don't have the key, you're of no use to us. We'll just kill you and see if it drops from your corpses."

[ System Notification: Drakos initiates combat. ]

"Wait—" Orlma began, but it was too late. Drakos charged forward with his glowing crimson sword raised as he activated a skill.

[ System Notification: Drakos uses Crimson Cleave. Area Effect Damage ]

The attack swept through the group of six like a tidal wave. Felix, the ranger, and Vyn, the cleric, were caught off guard and sent flying.

[ System Notification: Vyn takes -6,800 HP. HP: 1,200/8,000. ]

"Are you insane?" Krael shouted while rushing to meet Drakos. "We outnumber you six to three!"
