I have Nine Lives

Chapter 97: Strike them down faster than lightning

Chapter 97: Strike them down faster than lightning

This was a new side of Landers that Felix hadn't seen up till now, besides being a good leader and a big brother figure he was also a very good soldier for his tribe, he would do anything that it takes to complete the mission, but he wasn't a man that would break his promises even to his enemies.

He was an honorable man!

After finishing his eulogy and filling the hole in the ground, Landers walked towards Felix and asked:

"Do you feel different after seeing what happened?"

Felix shook his head:

"Not really, I didn't really feel much when I looked at you doing that to them, maybe it was because they weren't cut open like I was but I didn't really sympathize with them..."

At this point, mental torture wouldn't really work on Felix unless it was done directly on his soul by a specialist so he didn't really relate to Miku who buckled under the mental torture that Landers inflicted on her.

Landers nodded and told him:

"Well since we got what we wanted we need to go back and meet up with the troops, they have spilled the location of the nearest village which they came from, and their defense weaknesses so we can go and conquer it if we get a true base with a good defensive capability on the continent things will become easier the further we go in."

Felix followed Landers back as he told the 100,000 Lions:

"It's nigh time to attack the first forward base of the Sparron continent defenders, I and Felix have gained the information needed to reach the base and attack its weak points, follow me!"

The lions were talking with each other before Landers came but the moment he appeared and told them what they needed to do, they immediately entered the military formation and started to march following Landers from behind.

Lindo, Manitola, and Felix took the closest place towards Landers as they followed him, after walking for around 3 hours they finally reached the village.

It was called a village but it was more of a city, the structure was very tall having big walls that protected the village, they stood around 4 meters tall and they had sharp brambles protecting the top and bottom making it hard to scale.

At the top of the walls, scouts were looking down making sure no enemies were approaching the village, there were also some scout towers behind the walls standing at 5 meters tall, archers stood at the top of the walls looking through wood binoculars to see even further than the one on the walls.

The gates that lead to the inside of the village were made from dark iron and they were pretty much impenetrable.

The scouts on the walls also had bigger hextech cannons installed at the top so they would rain down fiery death upon the invaders, the difference between these and the ones that could be held by hand wasn't size only, their strength was also a few notches higher, but they were also slower at shooting and even easier to telegraph, however, if the army was clustered together too much the gigantic balls of energy would surely damage them quite hard.

Landers was watching everything from a low vantage point that was covered by the trees and bushes, while the scouts could see far they couldn't see through objects.

Landers already scouted everything and found out that Miku didn't lie to him, everything was as she described, fortunately, they had some weaknesses over them or Landers would have had to sacrifice a lot of his troops to conquer this village.

He looked towards Felix as he mouthed:

"You know what to do."

They already went through the plan and Felix was the best for infiltration operations.

Felix nodded and disappeared as he used his stealth technique, he started to run across the empty field in front of the village's walls, no one was the wiser as they didn't see anything.

However the closer Felix got to the walls the slower he walked, he knew that they had some type of technology that could identify his general location so it was better to play it safe even though he knew where to go.

The walls had no holes nor openings but the same couldn't be said about the ground below.

Felix dug up a little dirt from the ground as a hole appeared in front of him, it was the escaping tunnel meant in emergencies but now it would be used for invasion!

Felix dropped down in the tunnel as he looked around, even though the tunnel was dark because it wasn't currently in use, he was a feline and he could see rather well in the dark.

He slowly made his way through the tunnel until he reached the end of it and climbed upwards on a ladder, then he opened up the patch of ground that covering the opening to exit to the other side.

He got out of the hole and put the ground back so there would be no accidents then he looked around.

There were no people in the room he was in, but he could feel some people behind the door.

While he didn't know where he was if he opened the door himself he would surely take their attention which wasn't good.

Felix took out a communication stone from his backpack and called Landers:

"I'm inside but the door to the outside of this house is guarded, I need a diversion for the guards to run away so I can exit the house and open the gates!"

"Roger that!"

Landers cut the connection between their communication stones as he looked at the big gates and waved his hand as he shouted:

"CHARGE!"

The moment he said charge a sea of people started to appear from the woods, the Lions attacked in formations as they shot the cannons that they took from the beach, hitting the walls or even if they were lucky, hit one of the bramble parts.

They didn't have enough time to train with them properly, after all, they were quite different compared to the ones that the Lion tribe acquisition, because the Lion tribe was considerably poorer in resources they could only get the first version of the cannons and compared with the ones that they got from the beach they were quite different, both their weight and the shooting techniques you needed to operate them differed so the army's aim wasn't that good.

The moment they appeared the archers at the top of the scout towers started to shoot poisoned arrows at them while the ones at the top of the walls started to load the big cannons, they were already charged and the loading increased their explosive power, as the cannons at the top were charging, at their muzzles particles of light appeared meaning that they would shoot soon!

Landers wasn't sure if he would be able to tank a shot just like he did on the beach, while that one didn't injure him it did melt some of his armor but the big cannons gave him a sense of pressure that made him realize that if he took a shot, while he wouldn't die he would be injured and his battle power would be lowered.

But he didn't really have to take the shot... he just needed to redirect it!

Landers took in a deep breath as the light at the top of the walls was increasing, there were 3 cannons on the walls and all of them were aimed at the big army below.

Landers cupped his hands together in front of him as his deep blue aura engulfed him, the hex energy in the air converged directly into his hands as a spark of energy started to travel among his arms towards his hands creating a small ball of energy there.

The ball of energy grew until it engulfed both of his hands and at the same moment the cannons were ready to shoot!

The moment the ball of energy couldn't grow anymore Landers pointed it under the muzzles of the cannons as he let out a mighty shout saying his technique for all to hear:

"Wind Inferno!"

The attack rapidly shot out of his palms in the form of a pale blue beam that almost looked transparent, it was wide enough to engulf all 3 of the cannons but Landers knew that it was a fruitless endeavor to enter a struggle with them, so the beam of energy wasn't aimed at the muzzle but below it!

Landers's beam of energy moved quicker than the one from the cannons as it struck directly under and made the muzzles face upward!

The moment the muzzles turned upward the cannons shot out the compressed energy they had charged up till now creating bright balls of yellow energy that discharged into the sky!

The energy exploded creating a sea of fire that started to rain down both on the walls, army, and even the houses behind the wall!

The army could deal with the fire as they easily extinguished it before it approached them but the same couldn't be said about the civilians living near the walls.

Shouts of pain could be heard as some people started to catch on fire and the guards had to get some water and douse it on them so they wouldn't burn to death.

Felix could feel the two guards who were protecting the escape tunnel run to help as he exited the house and looked around, he could see pandemonium happening around, everyone was running like headless chickens while some people caught on fire and the guards were dousing them with water.

Felix didn't wait, he was already in stealth as he slowly inched towards the gates only to find out that the buttons that were supposed to open them weren't near them!

Felix looked around and frowned a little, where could the gate controls be placed?
