I Want To Have A Yandere

Chapter 40: Emotional Energy

Chapter 40: Emotional Energy

Pain.

This was the only thing Kaden felt as his eyes started to flutter open revealing a dark room, 'Where am I?' Kaden thought to himself as he groaned and tried to sit himself up.

He was currently lying on the ground and when he tried to sit up, extreme pain attacked his body in all areas, making him groan in pain once more. He was wondering why his body was in such extreme pain but decided to get up first. He then took his hands below him and used all his strength to push himself up. Despite the lingering pain he still sat up and took in his surroundings. The room looked quite familiar but he couldn't quite put his finger on it until a moment later.

'Why am I still in Ashly's house?' Kaden thought confused.

The last thing he remembered was trying to close her door from the outside and then being pulled inside the apartment. Anything after that is almost like a haze that the more he thinks about the farther it gets away within his mind.

Deciding to find Ashly and ask what's happening Kaden begins trying to stand up. With extreme effort and a lot of curse words later Kaden was fully standing in the dark room and started looking around for Ashly. He obviously knew he had been injured in some way as he felt his body had been run over by a truck which even made him limp but his main objective was understanding what happened.

After searching more in the living room and kitchen he saw no sign of Ashly and decided to check the last place in the apartment, the bedroom. As he made his way to the bedroom Kaden felt a little uncomfortable considering the situation and the fact that he hadn't heard a single thing from Ashly yet and now there were huge pain waves all over his body and he had no clue why any of this had happened.

Kaden opened the door to Ashly's room and inside there she was sitting on the edge of her bed staring into nothingness, "Hey Ashly! Are you there?" Kaden called out to here seeing the state she was in.

The only response Kaden got from his call was her turning her head towards him with a serious expression on her face before saying the first sentence she had said so far, "Do you remember anything?" She asked slowly.

Kaden then thought for a moment before answering, "The last thing I remember was you dragging me in your apartment. What happened?" Kaden asked with his curiosity overpowering the pain felt all over his body.

Ashly then sighed in apparent relief before speaking once more and getting off the bed, "I'm sorry to tell you but that was part of my class. The pain you're feeling right now is also a side effect." She said starting to explain.

Kaden couldn't completely understand why or how her class would be able to make him not only forget things but also make his body feel such pain, "What do you mean part of your class? What did you do to me?" He asked starting to get a little defensive.

Ashly seeing this could only sigh once more but this time in tiredness, "It was not my intention for this to happen to you. The problem lies with my new class. When I use any ability associated with my new class it uses what's called emotional energy. This energy is something that I get from other people and the energy that is cultivated and gathered from others depends on the vampire's inner mind. With me the emotion I need to function is pain. When someone around me or near me is in pain no matter how small or insignificant energy is then made based on how painful it was and sent to me." Ashly continued.

Kaden could kind of understand what this was getting at now but he still wasn't full clear on what had happened, "So if you were the one that caused this pain to me why did you do it. You could have gone somewhere else maybe a fighting club or something along those lines to try and get pain energy from those places. Also that still doesn't explain how my memory has changed." Kaden said with lingering questions.

With this question, Ashly went quiet for a moment before she answered. It seemed she needed to find the answer herself, "That was the original plan for the most part but after the exam I had used all the emotional energy in my body and there was nothing left in the tank. After that my class started giving me all sorts of warning signs about how something was going to happen if I didn't hurry up and get some of the energy. I also realized that while this was going on my anger management got lower and lower making me easily angered and quick to violence within my mind. I didn't want to hurt someone random so I decided to go home and hopefully sleep it off and it would fix itself by the morning. I now know just how stupid that was because the second you knocked on that door it was like something took over me. Something that had a hunger and insatiable thirst to give pain and the only thing that was within my grasp to let that thirst be quenched was you."

She then paused for a moment slightly regretful before continuing on, "I then did what the beast inside me was urging me to do. I inflicted the pain that it desired and refilled my emotional energy. At the end of it all, however, I unlocked a new ability in my class to remove the memories of those that I give pain to so that they won't be mentally affected by it after. I'm sorry I did this to you but it was out of my control. The only thing I could do is remove the memories you had of it." She finished with a regretful expression on her face that Kaden didn't expect in fact he thought she might relish in the idea of everything that she had done and not care about his personal well being in the least or at least that's what he thought.
