Chapter 272 - The Royal Procession
Brione smiled at Gavin's words. Her face turned crimson red at those words. She was aware that Gavin was trying to lighten up the mood since she was nervous. Yet, he also meant those words.
Gavin was back to his bubbly, friendly, and approachable character, so it was easy for the citizens of country B to like and love him. He was also a down-to-earth ruler, very humble.
"And yes, let's create a big family with lots of children!" Brione replied with a wink
Her reply earned a burst of amused laughter from guests inside the chapel and the viewers watching the ceremony live from their television.
Gavin also winked at her. The witnesses could not help but inwardly squeal at the adorable interaction of their King and Queen.
The archbishop had to clear his throat in order to get their attention, trying to continue the wedding ceremony.
It was now Gavin's turn for his vow, so he looked intently and lovingly to his wife as he started, "My Queen, since you have done your part, now… allow me to say my solemn promise to you."
Gavin's face was glowing in happiness, his eyes filled with adoration for Brione.
"I swear to love you for the rest of my life. I will do my best to make you happy. If I am your everything, then I am willing to give you all myself… my everything… I am all yours. Always remember that you are not only my Wife, but you are my LIFE."
"Being the King of this country is not easy, but as long as I have you as my Queen, I can do everything. So put your trust in me, my Love. I promise that I will serve you well as I also serve this country. Before I become a great King, I should be a good husband to you and a good father of our children first. Rest assured that I will protect you and our family."
When Gavin was done with his vow, a round of applause was heard inside the cathedral. The guests started clapping their hands and cheering for the couple with eyes filled with pride.
At that certain moment, Brione and Gavin got the blessings of everyone, including the citizens of Country B. They were amazed to witness the profound love their King and Queen had for each other. They were all wishing them a happy married life.
After exchanging vows, Gavin and Brione put the rings on each other's fingers. Then the archbishop pronounced them as husband and wife.
Of course, everyone was waiting for the last part, the sweetest part of the wedding ceremony… the Groom kissing the Bride in front of everyone.
They heard everyone cheering for them while saying, "You may now kiss the bride!"
"Our King, kiss our Queen! Seal your promises with a passionate kiss!"
Even Noah and King Lucas joined the crowd, telling the husband and wife to kiss each other.
Of course, Gavin would do that even if they would never ask him. He would love to kiss Brione, his Queen, in front of everyone and in front of the whole world. This was his most favorite part in the wedding ceremony, aside from exchanging vows.
Without further ado, Gavin lifted Brione's veil in order to claim her lips. He grabbed her chin and leaned over as he gave her a long deep passionate kiss.
They just made the witnesses squeal in joy as the venue was filled with their overloading love and sweetness. Everyone congratulated the royal couple.
The royal wedding ceremony ended. Brione and Gavin walked the aisle with their entangled hands as they left the cathedral. At the entrance, they were greeted by the falling petals. Those petals came from the helicopter above them.
The smile on their faces never left as the newlywed entered the royal carriage. The King and Queen would have a royal procession from the cathedral going back to the Derhan Palace where the wedding reception would be held.
The royal guards escorted the royal carriage. This royal procession was also a tradition wherein the ordinary citizens would have the chance to see the newlywed royal couple and congratulate them.
Many ordinary citizens were lining up on the road, waiting for their King and Queen to pass by. Some people were holding banners, expressing their best wishes to their King and Queen.
Some brought bouquets of flowers, although they couldn't give it to Brione and Gavin personally, waving those bouquets for them to see was enough for them.
Brione and Gavin felt overwhelmed seeing those ordinary citizens sharing their joy with them. They felt so touched by the love and support they were receiving from citizens.
As a simple gesture of thanks, Brione and Gavin stood in the royal carriage while greeting everyone with a bright smile as they waved their hands to everyone.
Gavin noticed that Brione looked tired, but she remained standing. He told her to rest and sit down for a while, but Brione refused his offer. She insisted on seeing and greeting the people who waited for them on that road.
Gavin could only sigh in defeat. Though he was worried about Brione, he had no choice but to let her do what she wanted. Besides, she was the Queen of the country, and she wanted to connect more to the ordinary citizens who were showing them their support.
The royal procession lasted for almost an hour before they reached the palace. The other guests had already arrived at the palace. Unlike Gavin and Brione, they didn't join the royal procession. After leaving the Cathedral, the guests proceeded right away to the Derhan Palace.
Gavin and Brione felt relieved. Finally, they arrived at the palace. They had to admit that the royal wedding ceremony and traditions were very tiring and very different from the other weddings. But despite that, it was all worth it. They enjoyed it.
Everyone was waiting for them inside the palace hall. Gavin guided Brione as they descended from the royal carriage. Again, they were escorted by the royal guards toward the venue.
The Royal couple just entered the palace hall when suddenly Brione suddenly felt dizzy. They were about to go to the center stage when Brione collapsed and fainted in front of everyone.
"Brione!!" Gavin called her out in horror.. Fortunately, he was fast enough to react, catching Brione in his arms.
