Chapter 647: Chapter 647 - The Bracelet from the West

A few days later, Frostedge visited Broken at the House of Slumdon to offer an apology for his sudden forced logout during their sparring match.

"I'm sorry about what happened," he said. "It wasn't fair to end the sparring that way."

Broken nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Don't worry about it. We'll spar again next time. Until then, I'll focus on training. I need to be better prepared."

"That was a great sparring session. It gave me a lot to think about," Broken added.

"I enjoyed the battle too," Frostedge replied sincerely.

As the Eternal Challenge approached, scheduled for early March, the Golden Age Company opened registrations for the highly anticipated event. To help participants prepare, they set up a private server-a separate dungeon-like space specifically designed for team-based training, such as monster raid battles.

Broken's schedule over the next several days was packed with training sessions alongside his team. Early on, the team faced a challenge in deciding who would take the leader's role and handle decision-making during the competition.

He insisted that Goldrich should step into the position, but Goldrich simply laughed and waved off the suggestion.

"Oh, come on. This old man's far too slow for that. I'd be so busy thinking that we'd lose before I even made a decision," Goldrich said with a chuckle.Nôv(el)B\\jnn

"Yeah, this old pervert only cares about women. He's not suited for the job," Melliandra chimed in.

Kingsley looked at Broken and spoke up. "Broken, I think you'd do a great job as captain. You're the natural choice."

After several rounds of debate, Broken finally spoke.

"Fine. I'll take the captain's role, but I'm going to need Goldrich to back me up as much as possible."

Goldrich grinned. "Khi khi khi. Backup's always easier than leading the charge. I think I can manage that without breaking a sweat."

The team was set, and with roles established, they turned their full attention to preparing for the upcoming Eternal Challenge.

His other concern lay with the Forest Elves.

Despite the days and weeks that had passed, Broken had yet to see any follow-up action from them.

Could it be they hadn't realized yet that Broken and Alora had managed to escape their captivity? No way.

Even so, Broken remained vigilant, preparing himself for the possibility of an emergency should the situation escalate unexpectedly.

Meanwhile, reports from guild intelligence suggested that the movements of the Shadow Wolves and the Horde of Hell had grown increasingly aggressive near the capital.

This shift in activity had prompted most members of the Vensalor Guild to relocate closer to the capital, leaving only a small handful stationed in Slumdon Town-Broken among them.

Though the town was quieter now, Broken knew the relative calm wouldn't last forever. He would need to stay sharp for whatever came next.

That day, Broken sat at the front of Beebot, perched atop the golem as it crawled steadily across the desert plains near Slumdon Town. He wasn't alone-beside him sat Ivana.

Ivana had mentioned needing materials from the monsters in the area, and he had offered to accompany her.

"I want to go to Deadbay..." Ivana said softly, leaning her head against his shoulder.

The sand stirred in clouds beneath Beebot's skittering legs, quickly left behind as the golem moved swiftly across the terrain.

"I'll go with you."

"I know you're busy... with everything."

"Yes, but Mr. Fokil is there. I need to see him too."

"Even though he always chases you off the moment you arrive?" Ivana teased.

Broken chuckled. "It doesn't matter. He's played such a big role in my life, Ivana."

"I'm sure he's proud to have an apprentice like you."

"That's not what his face usually says," Broken quipped with a grin.

Ivana laughed softly at that, lifting her head to look at him. Broken turned to meet her gaze, their eyes locking for a moment.

"There's a place I want to visit, Broken," Ivana said suddenly. "I wonder if you'd come with me sometime."

"Where do you want to go, Ivana?"

"Uhm... the West Continent?"

"The West Continent?" Broken repeated. "Why the West Continent?"

Ivana reached into her bag and pulled out a bracelet made of wooden beads. Attached to it was

a circular wooden carving.

She held it up for Broken to see, pointing to the carving.

"What is this?"

"Gia said this bracelet was on me when she found me."

It was the first time Broken had heard such a detailed piece of Ivana's past.

"And then?" he prompted gently.

"The carving on this bracelet..." Ivana turned it toward him, tracing the engraved image of a mountain.

"It's a mountain from the West Continent."

"The West Continent..." Broken murmured.

From what he knew, the West Continent was a region dominated by Beastkin kingdoms. While humans lived there, the area was largely a mix of different races, with Beastkin ruling the majority of the kingdoms.

The West Continent was also home to many players, drawn by its unique challenges and

diverse opportunities.

"Were you found in the West Continent, Ivana?"

Ivana shook her head softly. "No, but... because of this bracelet..."

"Are you trying to learn something about your origins?"

Ivana nodded.

"I'll go with you to that place."

But Ivana gently shook her head again. "Don't worry about it. I'm not in a rush. Finish

everything you need to do first, okay?"

Broken shook his head in return. "I'll go with you to that place right after the Eternal

Challenge is over."

"Eternal Challenge?" Ivana tilted her head curiously.

Broken chuckled lightly. "Sorry, it's an event that's happening in my world."

"That sounds fascinating... You'll have to tell me more about it someday," she said.

Broken nodded with a smile of his own.

But then a thought struck him-he also had a promise to keep with Hazel, or rather SexyGrill, for an expedition related to the Quest of Vensalor and the Floating Island. Fortunately, SexyGrill hadn't finalized her schedule yet, which gave him some flexibility. He realized he could easily accompany Ivana on her journey, especially with the Unseen Universe of Moonlight allowing him to return to Slumdon Town at a moment's notice.

"In three months," Broken added.

"Three months?"

"Yes. I'll go with you to that place. I'll even make a golem to help us cross the ocean," he said

with a chuckle.

"That sounds fun. Are you planning to make a golem for everything eventually, Broken?"

"Well, unfortunately, the materials are ridiculously expensive. I have to think carefully before

building any golem," Broken admitted.

"Oh? Did you think carefully before making this crawling golem?"

"No, I made that decision almost instantly," he replied with a grin.

Ivana laughed softly, as if she already knew how his mind worked.

"You're laughing at me."

"Yes," Ivana replied. "Because you're so funny."

"You laugh at the smallest things, no matter what you see. It feels like even boring stuff

becomes funny to you, Ivana."

"Yes, but no... With you, it's different. You're genuinely funny and enjoyable to be around."

"Is that supposed to be a compliment?"

"Are you still doubting the sincerity of my words, Broken?"

Broken chuckled, reaching out to ruffle her hair.

She smiled at the gesture, her eyes filled with a quiet, contented warmth.
