Hearing the waves of fleeting rings of bells and fervent singing, Yang Ling, who had been sitting cross-legged on the Great Wizard Altar, quickly opened his eyes, sensing an intense threat.

Having successfully absorbed and tampered with the souls of over a hundred evil demons, his Soul Energy had reached an alarming state. Bales of black Soul Vapor had appeared deep within his brain. According to the explanation of the stele, the black Soul Vapor would liquefy when it reached a certain stage, then turn solid when taken a step further, forming the Soul Crystal. That would take him to the level of Soul Wizard. When that time comes, he could gain a preliminary understanding to high-level Wizard Mantras needed to control souls, officially stepping into the domain of Soul Wizardry.

Having developed the Soul Vapor, his perceptual ability had also increased drastically!

Even with his eyes closed, Yang Ling could clearly sense the movement around him. In the past, he could not determine if the eerie beats of the Human Skin Drum had come from the gray, hazy sky or from under the ground. Currently, he could clearly sense the minute changes that were coming from under the ground.

There was a pitch-black coffin slowly rising from a hundred meters below the ground. The coffin would move a small step upward with every beat of the Human Skin Drum, accompanied by the waves of fleeting rings of bells and fervent singing. If his guess was right, the Pharaoh of the last generation that was about to awaken was now lying within this pitch-black coffin!

Regrettably, the pitch-black coffin was made out of a material unknown to Yang Ling. It had many mysterious symbols and images carved onto it. Despite that his perceptual ability had improved by leaps and bounds, Yang Ling was unable to detect the situation within the coffin.

Just what did the Pharaoh become after having laid in the airtight coffin for thousands of years, or even tens of thousands of years? Was he a completely decomposed corpse with pus oozing out of every crevice? Was he a withered mummy completely wrapped in bandages?

Yang Ling’s scalp crawled as he tried to imagine the Pharaoh’s appearance, then thought about the zombies and mummies he had seen along the way. Ever since entering this underground tomb, other than the perverted Corpse Wizard King and the Spider King Ymort, most of the people have lost their appetites, and Yang Ling was no exception. He now had a strong understanding of what deep hunger truly was.

“Yang Ling, how are the souls of these evil demons?” Seeing Yang Ling open his eyes, Elder Brent, who had been by his side, smiled.

“Hehe, this Pharaoh is too unfriendly, only summoning over a hundred evil demons. It’s not even enough as an appetizer!” Yang Ling shook his head, then sighed as he continued, “Perhaps I’ll find a way to head to the so-called Demonic Plane, so I can explore it someday in the future!”

“If you truly wish to go, I can help you think of a way!” Looking at the unsatisfied Yang Ling, Brent smiled, then shook his head as he continued, “However, these evil demon statues are merely projections of the original body summoned by the Pharaoh. They only have one percent, or even a tenth of a percent of the main body’s strength. You best settle your affairs before heading to the Demonic Plane!”

One percent, or even a tenth of a percent?

Yang Ling shook his head bitterly, the excitement of having successfully killed off all of the evil demons disappeared. Merely a tiny projection had been able to force powerful fighters like Faern and Stuart into a fluster. Just how would the situation turn out if the main body of the evil demons had come?

“Both the evil demon wielding giant scythes and the Earth Demon that had alarming levels of Magical Energy are high-level evil demons from the Demonic Plane. They are naturally merciless and enjoyed killing. If their original bodies were truly able to descend unto this underground tomb, I fear that not one person would have been able to make it out of this place alive!” Remembering a few of his friends who had headed to the Demonic Plane without a care in order to break through the bottleneck they faced in the past, Brent’s expression became gloomy.

Even if they had been fortunate enough to pass through the Space Turbulence, how could a warrior or Spellcaster, who had just stepped into sage-level, be able to hold his own within the foreign and powerful dimension?

Passing through Space Turbulence would be hard, but holding their own in another dimension would be even harder!

The density of the Magical Elements in the other dimensions far exceeded that of the Tailun Continent. However, even the so-called City amongst the Clouds is not the paradise it was in the hearts of many. There were various dangers that far exceeded the imagination of the average person. This was also the reason why Brent continued to stay on the continent. He did not expect to have been accidentally trapped by the strange Burning Fire Restriction in the underground tomb for thousands of years.

Thump, thump, thump...

Just as Yang Ling and Elder Brent were lost in thought, the beats of the Human Skin Drum became even more hurried, causing the speed in which the black coffin was rising to accelerate. A lump of mud appeared on the sturdy floorboard, getting bigger and bigger, taller and taller. The gemstones and premium crystals adorning the floorboard scattered onto the ground. The Death Energy released from deep underground became increasingly thick. More and more decomposed skeletons appeared, all of them groveling on the ground without moving.

He had to get rid of the peons first if he intended to kill the leader!

Yang Ling had a glint in his eyes as he examined the skeletons groveling on the ground without moving, respectfully waiting for the Pharaoh to awaken. He deliberated for a moment before starting to murmur softly, once again layering on a Gravity Restriction with the help of the Great Wizard Altar. He consumed several Magical Beast Blood Orbs to replenish his Wizard Power and mental energy, then increased the gravity from five times to ten times at one go.

Ten times the gravity was the current limit in which he could still control the restrictions freely. It was not to say that he could not add another two layers of Gravity Restriction, but doing so would mean he could no longer control the restriction at will. If that happened, even the Magical Beast Army around the Great Wizard Altar would be severely influenced, or even be targeted indiscriminately by the restriction, much less the troops and adventurers in the plaza!

Creak!

Under the pressure of the tenfold gravity, the groveling skeletons slammed onto the ground, their bleached bones twisting with effort before crumbling. Their weak spines were shattered an inch at a time, as if they had been run over by a large truck loaded full of goods.

It’s always better to take things to the extreme, hehe!

After finishing off the peons of the Pharaoh, Yang Ling decided to go all out after looking at the alluring gemstones and premium crystals in the plaza. He targeted the area three inches below ground, then used the Object Assimilating Restriction to collect all of the objects of value, not missing a single one. Since no one could stop the awakening of the Pharaoh and the situation had already become this bad, he no longer cared if he caused an abrupt change or not.

The Object Assimilating Restriction expended a substantial amount of Wizard Power and an even greater amount of mental energy if used on a wide area. If this was a few hours ago, Yang Ling would not have dared to be this greedy. However, after successfully subjugating the souls of over a hundred evil demons and forming streaks of the black Soul Vapor, his abilities were now much more powerful than they had been back then. The speed in which he could set up his restrictions had increased.

Just like that, the incandescent gemstones and premium crystals vanished into thin air. Everyone witnessed the disappearance. The entire plaza seemed to have had the top level excavated since all of the valuable treasures vanished without a trace!

“My God, am I seeing things?”

“This... Just what is this magic?”

...

Looking at the empty plaza, then seeing Yang Ling sitting cross-legged on the Great Wizard Altar, his hand gestures changing continuously, the people gasped loudly in disbelief. They had been hard at work for the longest time, excavating the gemstones and Essence Crystals at the risk of their lives. To think that Yang Ling could collect all of the valuable treasures for himself with one move, leaving nothing behind! Comparing the two, those who could not come to terms with this might truly die of anger!

Could Yang Ling have reached divine-level long ago?

After recovering from their shock, questions filled the hearts of the people present. They did not know why the skeletons would suddenly crumble. They did not know how Yang Ling managed to collect all of the gemstones and crystals in the plaza using seemingly nothing... Other than the Divine Domain of a Divine-level Expert, they could not come up with a better explanation.

Is this a rare magic spell, or the legendary...?

The ordinary troops and adventurers were shocked, and Elder Brent by Yang Ling’s side was no exception. Through his powerful Divine Knowledge, he could sense that there were several similarities to the restrictions Yang Ling set up and the Magical Spell Formation that had trapped him for thousands of years. It was the same imperceptible ripples of energy, the same powerful might...

It was rumored that in ancient times, the density of the Magical Elements in the Tailun Continent was higher than that of several other dimensions. Many divine-level fighters from the various dimensions had come to the continent. Amongst them, there were no lack of Upper Deities that possessed the Six Great Divine Duties: Life, Order, Power, Nature, Death, and Chaos. Many of them left behind powerful descendants and mysterious magical spells. Some of them trained in unique Battle Energies; some wielded powerful magic; some could summon countless undead creatures of Magical Beasts; some were even rumored to have researched various Magical Spell Formations. Even a Divine-level Expert would find it hard to escape if they accidentally stepped into a Magical Spell Formation set up by them!

After millennia, the Tailun Continent was no longer as popular as it was in the past. Most of the families had moved to another dimension. However, there was still the possibility that an ancient family was hiding somewhere off the beaten path, avoiding the world as they trained.

After sensing the ripples of energy in the air, then looking at Yang Ling’s rare black hair and beige skin, Elder Brent felt more certain of his guess. Other than the rumored ancient families that had come from another dimension, he could not think of a reason as to how Yang Ling would have such mysterious talents and powerful abilities at such a young age.

Thump, thump, thump...

Perhaps it had sensed that all of the gemstones and crystals buried within the tomb had been excavated, or perhaps it had sensed that the servants groveling on the ground had been totally obliterated. For whatever reason, the beats of the Human Skin Drum became more hurried. Faintly, there were waves of low roars as the pitch-black coffin rose even quicker. Ash flew into the air following a rumble. The black coffin instantly appeared before the eyes of the people present, covered in mysterious symbols. Its black color made it look exceptionally evil. Despite that the troops and adventurers normally were gutsy, their legs trembled as they felt their scalps turn numb, cold sweats dripping down their faces.

“Over ten thousand years, over ten thousand years... Who’s the one who awakened the noble Mobli at the price of his blood and soul?” After a ring of black light flashed past, an elderly man enveloped entirely in black light walked out from within the coffin. His appearance was partially obscured. He held a dark green staff about half the height of a human on his left hand, and a hoop-like object carved full of images and patterns on his right.

Teleportation Portal.

Seeing the hoop in the hands of the Pharaoh of the last generation by the name of Mobli, Elder Faern, Stuart, and the rest had a glint in their eyes, shouting in alarm. Even Elder Brent who was standing by Yang Ling’s side trembled, involuntarily conjuring ten constantly rotating mini Wind Daggers on each of his fingertips.
