Chapter 363 - Lie Detector
363 Lie Detector.
The next Day, Ichiro went to the High School of Fighting to get his leave of absence.
After the Principal was angry with the Martial Arts Club, he couldn't get it from him, but he managed to get one from Giron, who has the power to give one as a coach.
They talked about the future, and Giron didn't seem that confident in the championship, but it was enough if they were able to defeat High School of Cold, the place where rich kids were studying.
After he was done talking with Giron, Ichiro left the school and didn't plan on returning for quite some time.
His previous Battle of Cities results already made sure that he will at least enter the second year, and the Principal can't do anything about it.
Once Ichiro returned to the Nightside Mansion, it was once again surrounded by even more reporters than yesterday.
They heard about the reappearance of Ichiro and wanted to know his thoughts about the death of Abyss.
But, he didn't say a word and managed to enter the mansion unhindered.
For the next two weeks.
He stayed in the mansion with Azura and Alena and didn't have any need to even leave the mansion.
They had enough food to survive a few months.
But, when night came.
Ichiro sneaked out and rushed towards the hospital to look at Aether.
He hoped he could cure him with Healing Potions, but just to be sure, he asked the System to examine him because he didn't have coins to buy Healing Potions.
But, if Healing Potions can heal him, he would go back to Frozen Island to try to earn any coins.
After the system finished the examinations, he received dire news.
He would need a Legendary Healing Potion to heal him.
Whatever Adamas did to him caused severe injuries that couldn't be healed ordinarily.
Ichiro had to give up for now, but he made sure to gather enough coins to heal him, but that needed time.
After that, he went back to the mansion and didn't leave anymore.
For entire November, he stayed inside training and managed to increase his stats a little bit.
So far, he has mostly improved his strength with the help of the system, but it doesn't mean he can't by himself.
No one else has systems, and they can reach Martial King and above.
Ichiro was certain that he could do it but that needs much more time.
Soon, December arrived.
The reporters were still crowding around the Nightside mansion and didn't seem to have any intention of leaving.
News about the death of Abyss didn't die; instead increased.
The Government also heard about Ichiro's survival, which caused most of the superiors to feel enraged, but they had to know what he knew.
2nd of December, the people from the Government arrived at the Nightside mansion to talk with Ichiro.
If they think he knows something, they will annihilate him.
But, if he doesn't, they will let him live, but most likely, they will change his threat level.
The government's threat levels are from F-Rank all the way to God-Rank.
Below God-Rank were SSS, SS, and S.
Below S was A, B, C, D, E, and F.
No one knew, but Abyss was the first-ever God-Rank threat in their system, but they didn't reveal it because it would cause outbursts, and a lot of hate would be targeted towards Government.
If they treated Humanity's Hope as a threat, it would be very insulting.
At 1 P.M.
The people from Government arrived.
There were, in total, five men with black suits and a deadly aura around them.
Once the reporters saw them, they stepped to the side and didn't disturb them as they entered the Nightside Mansion.
Rudely and arrogantly, they pushed the door open and entered the mansion, leaving a trail of snowy footprints behind.
They saw the dark and empty mansion, but they could feel presences coming from the other floors.
''My name is Malcolm, and I am here as representative of Government; show yourself!'' Malcolm, a man with dark black hair and a black suit with equally dark sunglasses, shouted.
He had muscular stature, his bulging muscles couldn't be hidden under the clothing, and underneath the black sunglasses, his terrifying-looking eyes could be almost seen.
He unbuttoned his sleeves, went to the living room with the other Agents, and sat down around the couch without caring if they made a mess.
Malcolm put his feet on top of the table, which made the snow on the bottom of his shoes splatter around the table.
*Creak*
Soon, footsteps appeared from the stairs, and slowly, someone was walking down the stairs.
Malcolm glanced in the direction of the stairs, and soon, a young man with black hair appeared.
He had a sweaty face with his shirt drenched in sweat, making it almost transparent.
Ichiro saw the black-suited Agent's sitting on the couch, leaving no place to sit at.
''Kurogami Ichiro, correct?'' Malcolm asked while four other Agents narrowed their eyes and increased the pressure.
They thought it would push Ichiro down to his knees, but he kept standing calmly, with no signs of pain.
Ichiro put his hand in his pocket and grabbed a napkin, which he used to wipe his sweat.
''Answer me!'' Malcolm shouted, which made the windows tremble.
''I am,'' Ichiro answered after he finished wiping his sweat.
''We have questions; please answer truthfully.'' Malcolm snapped his fingers, and a black-suited Agent next to him took a device from the bag and put it gently on the table.
''This is a lie detector; it will turn red if anyone speaks a lie in this room,'' Malcolm said and pressed a button, making the square-shaped lie detector turn shades from black to green.
Ichiro nodded and grabbed a chair from the dining room, which he dragged all the way to the living room.
He sat down on the soft cushioned chair, his exhausted body instantly relaxed.
''Where are those Nightside women?'' Malcolm asked, ''Why aren't they here?''
''They are upstairs, and wasn't this meeting about me?'' Ichiro asked a counter-question.
Malcolm glanced at the lie detector, which stayed green, meaning that he was talking the truth about their location.
''That's true; we don't need them,'' Malcolm said and locked his fingers.
Ichiro glanced at the lie detector, which stayed green.
'Maybe I can use this to my advantage…' An innocent smile appeared on his face as he started waiting for the questions.
