As soon as the pink-colored fog appeared, Rezen immediately covered his nose with one hand. He was also about to retrieve a purifying potion from his farm when his eyes constricted in surprise

At first, he thought that the fog was poisonous. Although he can guarantee that no poison with strength at the peak of the Junior Rank can kill him but what if this poison reaches the standard of the Senior Rank?

A scene of carnage is seen everywhere as blood, flesh, and bones are ripped into pieces. The scent in the air turned pungent

"Honey!" Treen suddenly cried out and before Rezen and any of the other students could react, the next thing that they saw was another sickening scene in a different sense

They saw the respected and powerful Headmaster of the Tryst Academy kissing Treen. It wasn't even just a simple kiss but rather a torrid one. The type of kiss that involves aggressive movement of lips and tongue. It gave them goosebumps

It was basically already known to everyone the relationship dynamics of these two but it was still something to see that personally

Fortunately, the kiss didn't take that long before the two ended it and the Headmaster buried her lover into her bosom

"You scared me! When you sent me the distress signal, I was terrified!" The Headmaster said with worry visible in her tone

Turns out that although Treen is kinda idiotic in some ways, he still knows how to preserve his life. He actually sent a distress signal to the Headmaster early on which was the correct decision

If the Headmaster didn't arrive in time who knows what would happen when the Instructors arrived? All of the students might have died already by then

"Honey, go help Instructor Feather first. She's in danger, fighting three magic beasts at the same rank as her at the same time!" Treen said out of genuine worry

Instructor Feather might not be the friendliest of them all but she is still the head Instructor of Rezen's batch. Naturally, she pays a lot of attention to them aside from teaching them a lot of things that greatly improve their progress as mages

No one wants to see Instructor Feather die especially if the reason is because she was protecting the students!

"Don't worry, it's not that easy to kill a Senior Mage. Besides, your honey is not your regular Senior Mage" the Headmaster said with a chuckle, no hesitation or shyness at all when calling herself Treen's honey

With a simple wave of the Headmaster's hand, the pink fog around suddenly solidified into a tentacle monster that resembled that of a pink octopus

In just a short period of time, the magic beasts nearby are already dead due to how aggressively they are attacking each other without care for their own safety. Only their carcasses remained and the octopus monster ignored them

The monster moved at a speed that the students didn't have any hope of achieving with their current power and it entered the gymnasium

In just a few minutes, the octopus returned to the Headmaster's side, and on its tentacles, three dead magic beasts and one heavily injured woman could be seen

The three magic beasts were none other than the foxes at the Senior Rank while the human was Instructor Feather

"I-In just a few minutes..."

"The magic beasts that we cannot even hope to injure died just like that..."

"No wonder that the Headmaster was able to create a second-rate academy!"

These are the thoughts inside everyone's head as they watch the octopus approach them

"H-Headmaster... w-we have to investigate this case. I-I don't know how the magic beasts s-suddenly appeared a-aside from the fact t-that they came out f-from that gate t-that you sealed..." Instructor Feather said with the last bit of strength she had left before he lost consciousness

How did the magic beasts appear here... that is the biggest question that must be answered. What if the magic beasts don't have to attack the walls anymore before they can wreak havoc on the City of Hope? Just thinking about it is terrifying enough!

"H-Headmaster, h-how about our classmates? W-where are they now?" Theon mustered the courage to ask and everyone saw and heard the Headmaster sigh

"Aside from you guys here, only one other person survived. This is the Academy's negligence, I will make sure to compensate their loved ones" the Headmaster answered and the students were shocked to the extreme

Dead? Just like that, the people that they spent months with is dead? Even if they are not particularly close with each other it was still heartbreaking to know that their classmates died. If not for Rezen's warning thanks to his acute sense of danger they might have suffered the same fate

"Damn these magic beasts! How dare they! I will kill them all!" Porenz with the biggest temper of them all said angrily and she even angrily stomped her feet on the ground causing them to crack

"This matter is serious and I must investigate it personally. If I also cannot find the source, I will report it to the Guardian immediately. For now, all of you are exhausted, go back into your rooms to rest" the Headmaster said in more of an order

This is not the time or place for these students who are merely at the middle stage of the Junior Rank to be in

Still, the Headmaster waited until the other Instructors and Assistant Instructors arrived before he let them go. Since magic beasts already appeared out of nowhere once, who can say that it will not happen again?

On the gate, pink chains can be seen wrapped on it and the chains are preventing any magic beasts from coming out of it

"I-I have never seen such a thing. Just what kind of magic is this?" One of the Instructors muttered as she could not figure out whatever this scarlet gate was

She didn't have even a small idea of what it was and the same was true for most of the professors

"Normally, I would close off this place to study such a mysterious thing but since it enables magic beasts to come inside the city without any warning, I have to report this immediately to the Guardian" the Headmaster said after seeing that none of them have any clue on what this scarlet gate is

If not for the fact that the sudden appearance of magic beasts would put the City in danger and risk, the Headmaster wouldn't immediately conclude that they could not discover what this thing was

It's just that they cannot risk the entire city just for the sake of a gate that they seemed as a treasure trove of mysterious knowledge

"Send a letter to the Guardian and the Council immediately and there should be at least two Senior Mages on standby to guard this gate. I already sealed it with my magic but who knows if it can destroy the seal?" The Headmaster ordered and they were about to take some more measures when the scarlet gate suddenly trembled before its outline became smoky until it dissipated just like smoke

"It vanished just like that?" The Senior Mages thought in their heads. They still wanted to study this mysterious gate but it didn't even last long. It hasn't even been 30 minutes since this scarlet gate appeared and it already vanished as if it didn't even appear in the first place!
