Level Four (32)
Grab the opportunity:
After resting for more than half of the day, Qiao woke up and got out of the tent to refresh first. He could hear some noise coming form nearby and knew very well it must be from the giant humans.
If a doctor were to point that any of them was suffering from low proteins then all the normal humans might as well choke to death. But most of the times when doctors could not find out the cause of a disease after tests, they would come up with this excuse.
Qiao saw them as soon as he came out of the tent, while the other team members were still in a half-awake state or yawning.
This big team had returned not long ago and they were talking loudly over something, disagreeing probably from the sounds of it. Their loud talk was the real reason that the team sleeping in the tent woke up.
"What's you name brother?" Qiao walked forward and asked the one who had yesterday showed him the path to reach the watchtower.
"I am called Lu." the fat laced cheeks jiggled and he told his name. It was a bit epic to look at him speaking.
"I will call you Lu Da then, do you mind?" Qiao smiled and asked again. He started to look at the others and then the whole set up.
"You can little buddy." Lu Da did not mind but instead patted his chest with welcoming poster.
"I am glad, then can you tell me what is going on here?" He pointed toward all the mess. Newly broken pieces of firewood were laying like a small hill and some freshly hunted monster was cut open in many pieces, ready to be smoked and fired.
"These woods are better for using to light a fire in this snowfall since we need to cook the meat." Lu Da explained but another hunter spoke up,
"These woods are good but burn away quite fast and I am saying these are not enough. We need to get more for all the meat to be cooked properly."
"This meat is enough for two days supply, but the wood are not enough and I am saying to bring more before the evening fell"
Qiao listened attentively and nodded, indeed the wood did not seem enough compared to the availability meat. These giant hunters had a completely different routine from others. Since they level up with a complete different set of method of eating lots of meat, they would also sleep to their hearts content or wiggle around.
So the matter that had them shouting was so small, but their loud voices seemed as if they were about to destroy half of the encampment.
"Lu Da, I am also concerned that the woods are not enough, you should get more." Qiao thought and spoke.
Even if this human declined his opinion, he could simply let them decide and mind his own work.
"Alright Qiao buddy, since you look like a nice hunter, I would choose to listen your opinion else..." Lu Da commendably looked at Qiao and then glared the other hunter. He was unwilling at first because the part from where he got the woods was a little troublesome area. That eastern part of the thick forest was occupied by a specific race of monsters.
Those who could absorb the cold energy from the nature and cultivate for levelling up. Only that specific part of the forest could provide the dry woods in the entire Snow Island. He started to walk to leave the encampment and bring more woods.
Qiao hurriedly followed behind and spoke, "Lu Da, can I also come with you?" He slightly bowed to show that he had only good intentions.
The giant human immediately agreed. Apparently, he looked like a giant but from his heart he was same like normal hunters who were afraid to go alone in the forest.
"Buddy you should have rested more, just like your team." Lu Da was a little hesitant but walking silently was not his way so he spoke to start conversation.
"Oh don't mind, I could no more tolerate those flat sheets with no warm clothes to cover." Qiao shrugged. Compared to his world, here he had nothing to take care for himself and he could not bring around two quilts all the time. He would look like a polar bear among normal hunters then.
The hunters would laugh at him because they were supposed to temper their body according to the temperature.
"Aha, it is as such, I seen. Which part of the lower town do you belong to then? Maybe we belong to the same clan blood." Lu Da asked again.
"Oh about that, it is the farthest part of the lower town, hope you know about it?" Qiao could only shot a blind arrow as in his head he hoped that it won't turn out to be a bad situation for himself.
"Oh, then you are indeed my brother by blood." The giant human gladly patted his shoulders and Qiao staggered for a brief moment.
"I am sorry brother. I am really happy and shocked but why did you choose this method of levelling up?"
The farthest part of the lower town consisted of immensely poor clans and family and this was the reason that if anyone ever from there decided to become a hunter, they would first take care about their starvation which they usually face in that part of the lower town. And such most of them would level up by consuming meat of the monsters.
So Lu Da was strangely surprised at Qiao for him to be one from there and choosing the other method instead.
"Hmm, I wanted to become invulnerable in the entire world so I chose this method." Qiao scratched his head and smiled sheepishly. He could only reply as such.
"Sure, I also hope my brother becomes the strongest."
Lu Da was impressed by him because usually people like him decide to address their hunger first and this was one of the bigger challenges for them. But this brother wanted to become strongest and chose to go the hard way. It was wonderful as well as astounding.
"Then I promise to lend you a heling hand in the future if you ever need it. I would not back down." He patted his chest and sincerely promised. Qiao was equally astounded to hear this. He could now strongly believe on one thing, if there were selfish hunters then there were sincere ones too, keeping the balance.
