Treasures and Snatchers: Level Three (part 23)

The monster was not ready to give up this time. And the hunter cannot throw the chaser in the danger, he was trying hard to capture or distract but to no avail. They heard the cooing and understood that Qiao was ready with his trap.

"I will run in front so that monster chase behind," the hunter voiced, he knew the monster has set him as target and he would definitely follow him to kill yet because of his feasible level he could run faster to reach the trap in time.

"We will be following too." Quipu and Linwin chose to follow from both sides. Inside their heart, they could feel how frightened they were. Strong grit was necessary to overcome this fear, running along a big monster was not easy, it could just simply trample without knowing by slightly moving around.

In the middle of the night, the strong monster was running to capture the hunter creating strong impact in the surrounding, most of the monsters which were habitual with night howling or reckless wandering turned silent.

They could feel the wrathe of the powerful monster, only the humans were gutsy to come in its way and hunt. "Get ready." hunter shouted to warn the man who was here to pull the trap. Qiao held the edges strongly.

The man kicked on the ground and jumped to avoid the trap and then voiced, "Now"

The monster could not immediately react with the bigger body and lots of iron nails pricked, before it could retreat Qiao pulled the edges and the temporary trap appeared, for brief time monster was under their control. "Put the attack at same time and follow." he voiced and Quipu hurried.

The one using the strong weapon was not strong and a single attack won't bring enough damage to the monster, now that it was trapped, it would use it's ultimate strength to break the trap and if it happened then it would not bring any benefit of setting trap.

Both attack would give considerably enough damage that the monster won't be able to break with ease. "I am ready." Quipu answered alert. Without wasting any moment, they leapt for straight attack, the hunter pointed where both attacks should land accurately. This was part of mission and the hunter was also experienced.

He knew the vital parts of the monster. Both stabbed the weapons at the same time and the monster groaned piercing the heart of the night. Quipu hurriedly handed weapon to Linwin while the hunter was observing the monster how much damage this monster bore with this attack.

It was necessary to know how accurately they have done the damage, if it sustained the injury then it would definitely kill the chasers and no further trap or distractions would be helpful. "Finally, it won't stand up, all of you can deal for more damage and experience." the hunter gave gesture and Linwin leapt to treat his present experience.

He was using the weapon as treasure and gaining as much as he could. "Your team leader is not interested? Where is he now?" the hunter was curious to see the man who appeared out of nowhere and turned the impossible into possible.

Qiao was standing there and he knew that he could simply breakthrough the peak of level three with this hunt but he remained silent. He was observing how this senior hunted and what methods and precautions were taken seriously.

He also wanted to know how he would share the spoils, keeping a card hidden was necessary if the opponent was strong. He was just helping his team, being a rogue team, all of them should be strong else the chasers and their enemies would hinder their path whenever they wished.

After dividing the experience between the attacks, it helped Quipu to breakthrough next level while Linwin reached level three, it was not bad. "I am here, I learned from this senior to remain steadfast in every situation." Qiao spoke.

"Buddy, if it was not you I might have been defeated long ago. I never met someone of this calibre, by the way which Guild you belong?" he asked out of curiosity, deciding to spend a night in the forest was no common, it was decision of guts.

"Oh I cannot relate because previously helped someone and got kicked out of my Guild now we are rogue and don't know how long we will remain rogue." Qiao snickered to remember the incident.

"I was in the middle of my defeat when you lend your help, tell me if you want anything in return?" he asked because he was happy, first he managed to complete the mission second his level did not face backlash because of betrayal and third he was saved from the label of loser leader.

"I did not help to get benefit moreover you are not strong enough to render any favor in return." Qiao plainly spoke. This hunter was not strong enough or from high town to provide information about the wicked hunter. Qiao wanted to know about his enemy, how strong he was and what methods he could use to hunt that human monster.

"Ah, I never knew that my present higher level is useless for my brother to be of any help, I greatly regret this. I will renounce my share in the spoils then, you can have it all." Saying this he cut open the skin of the monster and five spoils fell on the ground, these were emitting light, only few types of pearls emit light and hunters never give up on such spoils.

All the pearls which emit light were divided in six grades. Since the level five monster was threshold between higher grades so pearls gotten from level five monster were put in the fourth grade which was a higher grade for Middletown and all those hunters who trade these pearls.

First of all, first grade pearls were used as the good bargaining material, second grade pearls were used as illumination stone in the night, third grade pearls were said to be taken by the stronger hunters as their lifeline during their journey in the darkest places.

Fourth grade pearls were traded for weapons as well as medics. The chasers who got injured were treated with these pearls and the blood would not lose much so the Guilds usually stake high prices to get such pearls. "This means these pearls are a huge wealth in itself?" Linwin heard and asked agape.

"Guilds need these pearls as well as auction house so you can decide where you wanted to bid it. Remember these are really precious so don't get deceived by anyone." he reminded them.

"Why don't you come along and we auction them all, it would help us get rid and get wealth in return." Quipu spoke to test what he would answer. "Qiao was thinking differently, if these pearls were used as medics then he should keep at least in case he faced some unexpected situation.

"Sure, I can help with it." he answered gladly. "Quipu, save one for me, I need it." Qiao voiced and Quipu nodded, "Sure brother."

The hunter heard this nodded, there was not just collaboration of hunting in this team but they have strong trust too, it was wonderful to witness such a team. The night was slipping toward the morning, they chose a rock to sit and talk about various things. The hunter was alone so he also thought to wait for the morning.

"So you would leave Middletown soon?" Linwin asked curious. He never met someone of level six and only heard from others. "Indeed, I will leave Middletown but it was impossible without you all, I not only reached peak but made a breakthrough in the level six, I am much glad and I promise if ever we meet again I would not back down to help in whatever situation." he extended his hand gladly and make new friends today.

It was also rare that stronger hunter extended hand for brotherhood with the lower levels chasers. Linwin and Quipu looked toward where Qiao was hiding, they don't know why he decide to remain hidden but as always he must have strong reason for this.

Since they believe him, they extended hands because brother Qiao never help someone out of the blue, first he observe then decide. Qiao followed behind them when they reached the reputed auction, they were given separate place for them to wait until the pearls were sold on good price.

After the bid, the hunter handed all the spoils to both secretly and then left to tell his Guild about his completed mission so that they could grant him permission for the journey.

Qiao was praising this hunter because he remained true to his words. Finally he met someone who knows how to pay the favor with favor. Linwin and Quipu were exceptionally happy.

"Brother, should we talk to the old man about the saving of spoils?" Quipu asked. "We are going in the cottage for a talk." Qiao spoke and walked toward where they rented the cottage.
