Chapter 37: Father and Sister

Song Qi wore an expression of authority as he walked through the halls of the Imperial Cardinal Council. As the Secretary-General, he was a high-ranking official within the council, responsible for managing its daily operations. 

More importantly, he was a trusted confidant of Qin Ming. Many provincial governors treated Song Qi with great respect and even sought to curry favor with him.

As Song Qi approached a particular office deep within the council, his expression turned reverent, and he knocked lightly on the door.

“Come in.” A solemn and commanding voice responded from within the office. 

Even Song Qi, a man of great authority, couldn’t help but take a deep breath, straighten his appearance, and then carefully push open the door to enter.

The office was grand and imposing, spanning hundreds of square meters. 

A middle-aged man with an austere, ancient demeanor and an overwhelming aura stood by the window, hands clasped behind his back, gazing down at the Imperial Capital. His expression was indifferent, his eyes devoid of any trace of interest in the world before him.

Upon seeing this imposing figure, Song Qi respectfully lowered his head. “My lord, there is news from the young master.”

When he heard that the Arcane Source had been secured, a flash of excitement crossed Qin Ming’s eyes. 

The Arcane Source represented the culmination of the Qin family’s efforts over several generations! Years ago, they had sacrificed entire legions to cultivate this source, and now it was finally back in their hands!
