Pokémon Court

Chapter 34 *Title Hidden*

Chapter 34 *Title Hidden*

“Dragon Rush…?!”

As the name of this move escaped his lips, Terrance suddenly felt his mouth go dry… Has it finally comprehended it?

At this moment…

The tiny Swablu had transformed into a blue-purple streak of light, exuding a terrifying aura. The rustling of the grass, stirred by the surging airflow, could be heard faintly. Yet, even so, this scene seemed frozen in Terrance’s eyes…

“Bang~”

With a deafening rumbling sound, a massive dust cloud rose, instantly snapping Terrance back to reality.

Swablu…

Terrance hurriedly ran forward, searching for Swablu.

But when he clearly saw the situation before him, Terrance gasped and wore an expression of disbelief.

“Did… Swablu do this?”

Seviper, struck by the Dragon Rush, was sent crashing into a small pit, covered in wounds, its gaze unfocused. This time, it had truly lost the ability to stand once again!

This power…

As Terrance was amazed by the destructive power of Dragon Rush, he certainly didn’t forget that Swablu was born not long ago!

Perhaps this move isn’t the most powerful, but for a little fellow who’s less than a month old… It’s simply an unimaginably heavy-hitting move!

Master Victor’s premonition seems to have come true!

Watching Seviper fall into a small pit, suddenly, Terrance remembered that he still had something important to do. It wasn’t the time to daydream!

“Swablu—”

Swablu attacked Seviper with such tremendous force, so how is Swablu?!

Terrance anxiously called out to Swablu again.

Lingering near the pit, Terrance leaped over Seviper and, disregarding the pain in his body and hands, continued to dig the small mound with his bare hands.

“Swoosh~~ Swoosh~”

When he pushed aside the mound, he saw Swablu plunged headfirst into the mound under the enormous force of momentum. Seeing the unconscious Swablu, Terrance quickly retrieved his backpack and searched for any emergency medicine…

Although Dragon Rush has great power, for the current Swablu, it’s just as harmful as Take Down is to its body, the extent of which is immeasurable.

Slowly feeding Swablu the pulp juice of Oran Berry, Terrance also took out Potions, Vitamins and other medicines.

Although Swablu awakened the Dragon Rush that he had been waiting for long, Terrance now couldn’t find joy in it. For a Trainer stranded in the wilderness, injuries that impede mobility are the most fatal.

Just like the Swablu in front of him.

Even after using various emergency medicines, there was still no sign of improvement.

Terrance’s heart sank.

“Being a Trainer is not as simple as I imagined.”

In Pokémon battles, if all uncontrollable factors are not fully considered, it’s solely the Trainer’s fault.

“The overexertion is too severe, and it’s difficult to recover in a short time with just medicines…”

Shh~ Shh~ Shh~

Shh~ Shh~ Shh~

And at this moment, a familiar sound came from the bushes, making Terrance’s already sinking heart tense up again.

Slowly turning his head, Terrance saw another Seviper crawling towards them with an aggressive and unfriendly gaze. This immediately calmed him down and sharpened his focus.

…….

…….

“Did it come here attracted by the noise…”

In the bushes, Seviper’s sharp tail swung with a deadly threat, causing Terrance’s pupils to contract. He quickly picked up Swablu.

Now that Swablu had lost consciousness and another Seviper was approaching, it was undoubtedly a death sentence for Terrance. He had been in the Mt. Chimney forest for a month, and not a single day had been as dangerous as today.

Swablu’s condition was highly unstable at the moment. If it suffered further damage, the situation would undoubtedly worsen… Thinking of this, Terrance’s mood became bitter.

Escape was the only option Terrance could think of now.

As for Seviper… who was pursuing relentlessly with a fierce gaze. Being a hunter, it seemed to become even more excited on seeing Terrance escaping.

Touching his pocket, Terrance opened a small bottle with one hand, but seeing the small amount of residue left, his expression  darkened and he immediately threw it on the ground.

“It’s okay… in that direction… there’s a trap I dug in advance.”

It was a trap made by Terrance that could only be triggered by pulling a lever located on a tree trunk a little distance away. Given Terrance and Seviper’s speed, there was a slim chance it could be used. However, upon arrival, Terrance saw that the trap had already been destroyed by other Pokémon, and his heart sank to the bottom.

The ample preparations he had originally made became incredibly useless in the unpredictable wilderness where anything could happen.

He came to challenge Seviper with full confidence but was met with a series of misfortunes that left him disheartened.

Flap~~

In a moment of carelessness, Terrance was tripped by a vine and fell down. In order to protect Swablu, he bore the brunt of all the damage, twisting his foot in the process.

As the time for their journey was drawing to a close, and Swablu had also comprehended its ultimate move Dragon Rush, marking a perfect start to their growth. However, this situation has left him speechless.

“I thought becoming a Breeder and a Trainer would be a breeze for me…”

“It seems I still need more training. A competent Trainer wouldn’t be at a loss in a situation like this.”

Regretfully, Terrance tapped Swablu’s forehead, attempting to awaken it for a brief moment, giving it a chance to fly away, even if…..it could only do so on its own.

At least as a human, Terrance wouldn’t end up in too tragic a state under Seviper’s attack.

Unfortunately… Swablu still showed no sign of waking up.

With its red eyes glaring at Terrance, Seviper had already opened its mouth, revealing sharp fangs and assuming an attacking posture.

Taking a deep breath… Terrance’s hand searched the ground and he grabbed a nearby rock…

Preparing for a final resistance.

Gripping the stone tightly… Terrance narrowed his eyes and smiled at Seviper. “Come on, let me try my hand at battling a Pokémon.”

Perhaps there are truly talented humans who can suppress some Pokémon based on their physique and special abilities, but that certainly wasn’t the case for Terrance, who was burdened with a young boy’s body.

Nevertheless, at this point, he had no other choice. A Trainer personally engaging in a duel with a Pokémon may sound ridiculous, but how many Trainers haven’t experienced it? It is an indispensable step in gradually transforming from a rookie.

Only through firsthand experience can a Trainer comprehend the uncertainty of nature. Humans and Pokémon in the wild face the possibility of anything happening. Even if several Seviper were to appear again right now, Terrance couldn’t complain. He wasn’t a god, and not everything would develop as smoothly as he had hoped. It was an inherent rule of the nature.

For nature, a Trainer is still very insignificant. If one doesn’t understand this and does not always hold a sense of awe toward nature, they can never become a top-tier Trainer. Waving the sharp stone in his hand, Terrance propped himself up, gazing at the approaching Seviper.

Regardless of which Trainer is it, they must have had moments of being dejected and depressed in the wilderness…

Terrance was already prepared to give it his all, even at great cost, to drive away Seviper. However, at that moment—a resounding, melodious, and soul-cleansing calm voice reached his ears, almost making Terrance believe he had stepped into heaven.

The familiar voice triggered countless memories in Terrance’s mind, and finally, a glimmer of hope appeared in his eyes and a name surged into Terrance’s heart.
