Chapter 369 Pet
Xu Feng was not one to do charity, especially when the charity was going to consume his wealth, time, and energy.
"What do you want?" Earthrender clenched its claw and asked solemnly. At the same time, he blamed his horrendous luck for encountering such a person.
Of all the people who could succeed, it had to be him.
However, Earthrender hated one person even more than Xu Feng, and it was the person who restricted him here. If it wasn't for the restriction, it could have easily left and nurtured its offspring by itself.
Why would he need to lower himself and ask a puny human for it otherwise?
"First of all, I love to receive materials adequately from you." Xu Feng started rambling on the condition.
The Abyssal Rift was owned by Earthrender, so any natural resources or monsters here could easily be overwhelmed or collected by him.
Thus, he would be a fool to not use Earthrender when he was making him a babysitter.
Although displeased, Earthrender agreed to the condition without much hesitation. It didn't even need any of the resources and was just overseeing them whenever new people entered the Abyssal Rift.
Naturally, watching them get killed was a good feeling.
Who told them to invade his home repeatedly and cause a lot of ruckus?
"That's it, right?" Earthrender questioned and changed the contract term slightly.
Shaking his head, Xu Feng pointed at the ceiling. "Aside from the materials, I also want this structured environment."
Instantaneously, Earthrender growled softly, its eyes glowing menacingly.
"Don't push your limit too much, man!" He warned coldly. The structured environment that he constructed required a ton of mana and runes.
Just the time it took to construct had taken him more than 30 years.
How could he possibly just give it away to him?
Meanwhile, Xu Feng remained composed, not a bit affected by his sudden surge of killing intent.
"Don't be mistaken, Earthrender." Xu Feng mused.
"The structured environment wouldn't benefit me only, but the newborn creature as well." He added, pointing at the egg that already had numerous cracks shown.
Turning around, Earthrender glanced at the egg which was about to hatch. A hint of hesitation flashed within its eyes.
'This shrewd four-eyed man is really cunning.' Earthrender cursed silently, knowing that what he said made extreme sense.
The structured environment was indeed beneficial to him, but when compared to his newborn baby, the result was clear.
After much debate internally, Earthrender returned his gaze to Xu Feng. "You must swear that my newborn baby will receive the benefits of the structured environment. Otherwise, you're going to get it from me."
"Relax, I'm not dumb to not take good care of my pet." Xu Feng rolled his eyes and said in contempt.
Since the newborn baby was going to become his companion once the contract was established, he would legit be an idiot to not have it grow.
Irritated and annoyed, Earthrender subsequently altered the contract term once again. "The structured environment would be stored in this orb once my offspring come to life. For now, it still requires the blessing and protection."
Finding the arrangement reasonable, Xu Feng nodded and proceeded to sign the contract. Find exclusive content at empire
Contrary to a signature, the contract required the cliche method, and that was blood… Sike. The so-called blood contract in the Divine World was replaced by the uniqueness of his mana instead, saving Xu Feng the trouble of requiring him to cut his finger open to drip the blood.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Such a contract was very outdated and honestly, stupid to make.
As both Xu Feng and Earthrender injected their mana into the contract willingness, the System acknowledged it and a system prompt appeared in front of him.
Aside from that, there was also a new interface on the status screen. Under the Class, there was a Pet list, and upon clicking it, the name Mini Earthrender appeared, along with its appearance in a tiny icon.
Of course, the tiny icon currently still depicts an egg, given it hadn't been born yet.

Looking at his status screen, Xu Feng was rather satisfied with the level that he got with the glitch exp. As for the free attribute points, Xu Feng didn't plan on using them yet.
It wasn't that he was trying to hoard them, but depending on the situation he might be embroiled in. He would allocate them to benefit him at that specific moment.
Typically, players would allocate them quickly to improve straightway, but that was the wrong method. If the Divine World was such a simple and straightforward game, then not a single person would have invested heavily in it.
Sometime later, Xu Feng closed the status screen and patiently waited alongside Earthrender for the egg to hatch.
"The egg's about to hatch." Earthrender suddenly murmured, its body tensed up, clearly nervous and anxious about the process.
Shortly after, the egg began to crack with a faint, rumbling sound, like distant thunder. Thin lines splintered across the rocky surface, glowing faintly with a molten orange light.
With each tiny break, warmth radiated outward, filling the air with a gentle heat. Finally, a piece of the shell fell away, revealing a tiny, dragon-like creature with scales that glimmered like polished stone.
The newborn Mini Earthrender stretched its jagged wings, releasing a soft, gravelly chirp, while its glowing eyes blinked open, flickering like embers in a dying fire.
Seeing it hatched successfully, Earthrender waved his tail around before rushing forward and warmly hugging it.
The Mini Earthrender chirped joyfully upon being hugged, its eyes however stared at Xu Feng, feeling an overwhelming sense of familiarity. Such familiarity was the effect of the contract.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng was utterly speechless and stunned on the spot. There had never been a moment where he was this shocked and alarmed.
'Fucking hell! It's a Legendary Pet?' He inwardly exclaimed.
