Rise of The Anti God

Chapter 718 Everything Has To Come To An End

Chapter 718 Everything Has To Come To An End

The Rising Sun Continent was deadly silent as the darkness and death left behind by the newborn Abominable Fiend plagued the people of the continent.

Nobody dared to venture out before making sure whatever calamity was about to take over their entire lands had really gone for sure.

However, the rumor, no…the news of Damien leading the eldritch monster out of the continent was spreading like wildfire, and the main reason was that Elor, Irene, Kale, and influential figures like them who personally knew Damien were trying to assure the people that the worst was over since Damien and his women saved them.

But by saving them, they also lost them forever since it was said that Damien and his wives had crossed the barrier…never to come back.

And what shocked them all even more was the villainous truth about the Xeton Emperor and how truly sinister and evil he was, planning to kill everybody on this continent while trying to escape on his own.

Most of them only learned about the Old World recently since the information was only available to the highest echelons passed down through generations, or at most only feeble rumors would pass around. For the majority, the Rising Sun Continent was the only world in existence.

But after learning the truth about the world beyond the barrier, most considered Damien and his wives as martyrs who sacrificed themselves to save them, especially since it was said that not even their powerful forefathers could survive the Old World.

Almost all of them hailed Damien as their savior, while those who considered him a criminal before felt guilt and regret not recognizing who he really was.

They never treated him well, and yet he saved them all. And the loss of all four heavenly beauties and geniuses plunged the people of the continent into gloom and sadness since these four were the brightest stars of the continent, and nobody could ever replace them.

The fact that each of them was a princess from the three empires and the strongest kingdom only made the people of these respective lands mourn and even recognize this day for every year to come to remember their sacrifice.

Kale Gale was looking at the horizon, wondering whether Damien and his wives were really dead. He had no doubt that the Old World would be an impossible place to survive, especially after seeing the Abominable Fiend in action, knowing that it originated from the Old World.

Just one such monster almost destroyed their entire continent on its own. It wasn't even that intelligent, and even Damien and his wives could only lead it away.

Still, he knew he couldn't rest easy as the new emperor of the Gale Empire. So many people had died, and a good part of the continent was now a wasteland where nobody could live for at least a couple of centuries.

It would be up to him and the other empires to bring back stability and peace to this continent, and the burden was no joke.

Now that he finally got a second to breathe, he took out the letter which Damien had left him before he left, telling him to open it once things settled down.

Kale was puzzled since he never struck Damien as the type to leave a farewell letter. They also weren't really close other than coming together to fight against common enemies and being a common ally through his brother, Tristen.

Thinking about it, since the time Farah betrayed him, he had formed a brotherly bond with Tristen, the last person he thought would be the one to confide in and trust.

Tristen had always fought for everything he had to the point he had no doubt Tristen might even pay assassins to kill him off until suddenly he began to help him out after Farah's betrayal. Even now, Kale had no idea who or what changed Tristen like this. He simply considered it fate.

However, his thoughts froze when he opened the letter and read its contents. The contents weren't long but what it conveyed shook Kale as he mumbled, "I-It can't be…Damien…what have you done…"

Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away, a lone person was dragging himself towards a dead lake with the surrounding lands still plagued by the deadly air. His clothes were torn and dirty, but what people would first notice would be his appearance.

Nobody could even tell if he was human in the first place since his skin color was no different than ash, and his eyes were an eerie dark blue. His nails were long and sharp, while bony protrusions were sticking out from underneath his flesh all over his body. He had lost most of his originally silky hair and what now remained were a few thin strands extending from his bony scalp.

But the sight that would terrify people the most was the dried-up blood around his mouth, on his hands, and the bloody marks on his clothes.

It would make people think as if he was some sort of bloodthirsty monster though little would they know that they were not really far from the truth.

None can ever imagine that this monster-like person was once a handsome and gentle prince of the strongest empire on the continent.

Arthur had no idea how he reached this place since the last thing he could remember was killing his own father. It was the only thing that finally gave him sort of relief from all the pain that was plaguing his mind and body.

But he knew his end was coming, especially since he could feel his life slowly slipping away from his body. He knew the price of gaining such power wouldn't be easy, but he never expected the price to be so cruel to him.

His vision was blurry, and was about to collapse near the dried up lake when suddenly he felt a slender arm preventing him from falling.

"L-Lena?" Arthur could recognize this lovely flower-like fragrance any time and immediately recognized that the woman who supported him was none other than his maid, Lena.
