Rise Of The Hoarder

Chapter 253 Evil (Pt 1)

“N-no… please. Oh, God! Please!” Charles begged as he saw the monster draw nearer to his wife.

Despite his feeble and powerless attempts to try stopping the monster that incessantly approached her, he couldn’t move a muscle. The control I had over him would not allow Charles to leave his kneeling posture.

“Jeremy! You bastard! Why are you doing this?!” He growled, showing hate in his eyes as hot tears streamed down his cheeks.

Tasha, the poor man’s lover, couldn’t say much in her stunned state.

I could hear her struggling voice attempting to whisper something to him, but his enraged screams doused the woman’s words.

“Why, eh…? I paused and placed my fingers on my chin, as though contemplating the matter.

At this point, the Hobgoblin Champion grabbed Tasha’s body, easily lifting her up since she offered no resistance whatsoever.

Blood dripped from her body and Charles’ eyes lit up further in rage and pain.

“… Well, there’s no particular reason… I mean, you wouldn’t get it anyway.” I concluded..

Charles appeared dazed by my response, completely caught off-guard.

Maybe he was expecting something like revenge or a fit of deep-seated anger concerning him or Tasha—perhaps even blaming his inability to protect Ana.

Unfortunately for him, my motivation was none of those mundane things. While it indeed pissed me off that he was alive in Ana’s stead, my annoyance wouldn’t warrant his or Tasha’s death if they were still useful.

‘Ultimately, I suppose I want them to die to harvest more (G) Karma Points, but…’

Yes, there was also one other thing.

“If I was to pick something, though, it would be that you crossed me…” My voice trailed as the monster brought Tasha closer to its mouth, spreading it wide open to accommodate the woman.

I saw her last expression. It was of pure horror. Her nose crinkled, most likely as a result of the pungent stench that was coming from the Hobgoblin’s mouth, and her eyes brought out excess tears—both from the pain she was experiencing, and the fear of what would come.

“I… I-I…” Her voice quivered and words couldn’t come out.

All of Charles’ attention shifted to his wife, stretching his hand meaninglessly to reach out for her as the beast finally closed its jaws, chomping her head off.

“Nooooo!!!” The Camp Leader screamed as Tasha’s headless body dangled in the arm of the Hobgoblin Champion. More blood dripped on the ground, making slight splatters all across the room.

“Tashaaaa!!!” Charles screamed.

The Hobgoblin Champion ignored Charles’ screams and kept eating the other parts of the woman’s body, stripping her naked before devouring her raw flesh.

The way the monster chomped off her breasts, as well as all other parts of her body, made me feel a little sorry for her corpse. Red juiced flowed out and the monster proceeded to lick it off before greedily enjoying more and more of her flesh and bones—until there was none left!

“Wow, you’re a greedy little pig, aren’t you?” I closed my eyes and laughed in surprise.

Was it due to my order that it ate the woman completely? I only told the Demon to kill her, though…

Charles’ shrieks caused me to open my eyes and as soon as I did so, the sight of the Demon reaching out from the kneeling mine registered in my brain.

“Hey, you’re being too greedy now!” My voice rang out in slight annoyance as I sent a blade to lope off its head in an instant.

>SWUIIIISHHH<

The monster’s head was cleanly separated from its body and fell to the ground, sending blood spurting out in an instant. Now nothing but a corpse, the Demon fell to the floor in a heavy thud and slowly turned to dust—flesh and all.

“A-ahhh… Ahhhh… Arghhhh!!!” Charles screamed even more, most likely mentally shaken by the trauma of death that he had been exposed to in merely a few minutes.

“Shut up,” I ordered.

Immediately, his loud voice quieted down, and while his phase exhibited horror, no sound escaped his lips to tell of it.

“Things could have gone down differently, Charles. It’s too bad you made me your enemy back then when you forcefully demanded the return of your wife. It would have been better if you remained a loyal chess piece.”

Well, it was uncertain if I would have spared him regardless, but seeing as my heart was large enough to accommodate Lara, I certainly wasn’t a completely indiscriminate killer.

Charles appeared to want to say something, so I allowed him to speak.

“P-please, at least save my daughter! Even if you kill me, even if you destroy the Camp! Please! Don’t kill my little girl! I beg you! You can have everything else! I’ll show you where the storehouse is. All the harvested hoods are yours. Just pleaseee!!!”

I watched as Charles rambled on and on, keeping quiet throughout. It would be a shame to interrupt him while he begged.

“P-please! I did everything for her! I just… I just want her to live. P-please!”

I had to hand it over to Charles, he kept surprising me at every turn. I knew he cared about his family, but not to this extent. He must have also realized that I planned on decimating the whole Camp seeing as I could kill Tasha mercilessly without remorse.

“You’re making an honorable request, but you seem to be overlooking one thing. Even after killing your wife, and most likely deciding on killing you, don’t you get it? Why would I save your child?”

It all boiled down to one thing.

‘What can I gain?’

“She—She… is a very… a very powerful Gifted!” Charles finally spat out after what seemed like a grueling internal session within himself.

“Oh?”

“Yes! Her Gift is extremely rare and—”

“I don’t care.” I flatly declined whatever the man was about to suggest.

“Eh?!” Charles gave a dumbfounded expression.

“That’s right. There’s absolutely no value in whatever you’re trying to suggest. Your negotiation has failed!”

And so, with nothing else to gain, the man could only watch as I steadily approach him—quivering uncontrollably in unexplainable despair.
