Summoned and Unwanted

Chapter 579

579 The time to prepare for D-day begins

Darwin placed a cup of tea in front of Jun Ye Rim. He sat down and placed a magical contract on the desk.

“I will now read what the high council has written. Additionally, in this document, I can write what the Lionheart branch family demands upon winning the case. After that, I will personally give them this document to finalize the contract of the judgment by combat.”

Darwin looked at Vincent, Lilith, and Jun Ye Rim with a determined gaze. He continued, “I will do my best to minimize any more unfavorable conditions by demanding to be present during the whole remaining process. You can have my word.”

[That sounds reassuring. Having Darwin hinder whatever other plans they have in mind is going to be a blessing. Now I hope the fighting conditions will not be unfavorable, and we might actually need to fight against opponents we can not beat.]

-Our problem is if I lose control. Everyone will start to question what I am.-

[...] Kazumi couldn’t give Vincent a good answer for this problem. The possibility of publicly announcing the arrival of the seventh otherwordly hero was a burden they had to work with.

“Now, let me read the law the Lionheart branch family needs to follow. ” Darwin said before he started reading the contents of the magic contract.

Shortly, Vincent, Kazumi, Lilith, and Jun Ye Rim couldn’t believe how one-sided the recollection of the events was.

Jun Ye Rim was written as a woman who tempted the five students as a trap created by Vincent to injure, humiliate and tarnish the honor of the student’s families. It was written in a way to make Vincent appear as a person who hates the aristocrat faction and is openly acting as their enemy.

.....

Darwin tried to put it in the least negative way possible, but the details were clearly against them. However, as Darwin stated, only after this incident which was set to make the news worldwide, was there going to be a revision of the judgment by combat laws.

“Now, these are the participation rules.”

“The five-on-five death match will only allow five familiars from each side.”

“The representatives must be the family members of the families involved or their slaves.”

“The power level must be less than a mid-A Ranker, only one enchanted item per participant, and one potion per participant to keep the truth just.”

“Even though killing will not make the killer a criminal in the judgment by combat, any shameful display against one’s opponent such as senses torture and various undignified immoral acts will be considered criminal and executed after the judgment by combat ends.”

Darwin placed the document on the desk after finishing reading the rules.

*Sigh* “I saw you get married, and now I have to see you participate in a dangerous death match. ” Darwin looked at Lilith and continued, “Don’t worry, we will not let your father worry. We will help as much as we can.”

Darwin looked at Vincent, Lilith, and Jun Ye Rim and said with a comforting tone, “Fear not. I will complain and request surrender to be added.”

“Thank you.” Both Vincent and Lilith thanked Darwin promptly. Jun Ye Rim nodded once as thanks.

After Vincent told Darwin his victory demand to have the five students publicly apologize to Jun Ye Rim, the document on Vincent’s part was done.

Now the signature of the king, who has to sign without the ability to alter the document, was needed for the date of the judgment by combat to be announced.

“Headmaster Darwin, do you have an idea of when the fight will be held?” Vincent curiously asked to plan ahead with everyone.

“As I mentioned, it can take a week, so probably next Sunday, but I will see how much I can delay the match date. That means it is a minimum of six days until the judgment by combat begins.”

Darwin tapped on the desk and continued with a frown, “However, do not think there is no one on your side. I, Duke Lucas, Duchess Karta, and various other important people are complaining. Enough for the judgment by combat to become an ordinary way to prove a point.”

“Baron Vincent Lionheart. Baroness Lilith, Lionheart. Lady Jun Ye Rim. The three of you, your servants, and your familiars can leave the academy until the day the judgment by combat ends. I, as the headmaster of the academy, can do this much at least. I have also sent a letter for your Head Maid to send your coachman to pick you up this morning.” Darwin offered, taking Vincent, Kazumi, Lilith, and Jun Ye Rim by surprise.

“Ahem. You can take my student Maria to protect and help with the training.” After realizing it was better to have the problematic Maria help the Lionheart family instead of reaming a first-year teacher, Darwin offered that.

After thanking Darwin multiple times, the three left the headmaster’s office. They pulled out their student cards and teleported back to their island.

In the headmaster’s office was a man with a large headache. Darwin placed his elbows on the desk and rubbed his temple. He looked at the document he had to hand over personally and said to himself.

“Those Blackhearts really want to take the Lionheart family down as a show of might by using their connections and other families to appear at the forefront of their agenda.”

“Having one of their sons die, get his property taken by the wife, get his wife taken by a commoner, and that same person who became a noble because of the marriage with the widow ended up making another of their sons consistently paranoid and unable to feel safe made Vincent their number one target.”

*Sigh* Darwin shook his head. “Vincent is bringing a storm or change. For the better or, the worse, I hope, her highness. Princess Anna will not be negatively impacted for showing Vincent favor and sponsoring him. The situation can become worse if she loses more favor because of Vincent’s current situation and is forced to marry a scumbag to keep her royal authority.”

*Team Ten Island*

Vincent, Lilith, and Jun Ye Rim arrived on the island. As they expected, they were surrounded by everyone.

“Vincent. Leave the explanation to me. Go and have a chat with Jun ye Rim while we prepare to depart.” Said Lilith with the courage to start taking the lead of the Lionheart family.

“I will leave the explanation to you then. It is nice to see you this determined Lilith.” Vincent said before grabbing Jun Ye Rim’s hand and pulling her to an empty place.

A couple of steps later, Vincent stopped. He looked back and saw an elf acting as if she had been kidnapped. Her cheek was red, and her eyes kept averting her gaze. She looked both nervous and flustered.

“Sorry!” Vincent let go of Jun Ye Rim’s hand. “I just wanted to ask you to come with us...”

“Okay.” Jun Ye Rim said, interrupting Vincent from further explaining the benefits of going with them.

[Good choice.]

“Humph!” Jun Ye Rim crossed her arms and tried to act tough. “It’s only because you need to feel better by being near you. But it’s not like I want to be near you are anything like that. I just don’t want you to lose because you kept thinking of me. Well... not that you should constantly think of me. That feels disgusting.”

Vincent and Kazumi both laughed. They felt better after a good laugh, while Jun Ye Rim blushed even further after feeling they weren’t taking her seriously.

[Jun Ye Rim. How about you marry Vincent while you are living with us?] Kazumi teased.

“It will be her choice Kazumi. I already proposed with the marriage of convenience, but I don’t which to force her choice.” Vincent chuckled and scratched his head. “Then again, hearing the name Mirey Lionheart is pleasant to the ear, hehe.”

Jun Ye Rim gasped to hear Mirey Lionheart. She turned around as she couldn’t look at Vincent anymore. “Go away. I will have to join you later before you leave.”

“Okay. We will be waiting for you.” Said Vincent while holding himself from giggling.

[Want me to stay too...]

“I need some alone time. Go away and leave me alone.” Jun Ye Rim said with her arms crossed.

Vincent and Kazumi understood it was better to let Jun Ye Rim have some time to herself.

Vincent left Jun Ye Rim alone and went to the others. There he met and talked with Nick and Clair to clarify what Lilith had told them.

“I will send a letter to my parents to find the strongest slave they can find to help. I am sure my parents can find the right person to help my friend and his family in this time of need. ” Offered Nick.

“My mother is already looking for information to buy one of the top ten gladiators. Please leave the recruitment of powerful people to our families.” Clair said. She showed how the Reddawn family was already working on acquiring a gladiator for Vincent’s team.

“Thank you. Your support will not be forgotten...”

“My friend, please don’t say something like that!” Nick interrupted. “We will see each other after the judgment by combat ends! This isn’t a farewell. This is only a week break, and you will return after it ends.”

“Yes, Vincent. You already told us how we have to participate in the grand alliance tournament after her highness, the princess, sponsored you. Don’t forget to return safe and sound.” Clair continued with a tear welling in her eye.

[These two are heartwarming. There are true friends, and we are fortunate to have their support, even if we are in a tight spot.]

[Huh? Jun Ye Rim is approaching slowly while acting strange.]
