Taming my Monster Girl Harem from Scratch

Chapter 362 Brightening the Dark Nights

Chapter 362 Brightening the Dark Nights

"... This quantity really isn't something I can handle in a day."

I did my best, of course, but by the time the date was about to change, I had only finished roughly three-fourths of the pile. After all, the other guys entering and adding more documents didn't really help.

I only managed to return home when the sun was already about to rise. I had no time to sleep at all.

After I took a shower to refresh myself and ate dinner and breakfast together, I was ready to head out for another day in the office.

"Sir Will, wait!"

Just as I was about to jump into the portal I opened, I heard Minerva's voice calling from behind. Of course, Hekate stood right beside her.

Right, I did leave them yesterday since they weren't in the state to accompany me, but I did ask for the two to come and help me with my tasks.

"Are you two ready?"

I asked just to confirm, and the two of them nodded their heads before walking to my sides. Seeing the excited and nervous looks on their faces, I entered the portal.

"So this is Master's office..."

Hekate muttered in a soft voice, gawking around the splendid room. Her eyes were sparkling with interest, as if it were her first time inside a castle.

"Amazing, right? But there's something more amazing than that. Look in front of you."

"...?"

Hekate followed my words and stared forward, looking at the tall pile of documents on top of my table. Her shoulders shook a little, seeing the absurd amount there was.

"That... is that all Master's workload?"

I nodded my head, smiling wryly.

"Yep, it is. And from now on, it'll be our workload."

With two hands on board, I hope this absurd workload will become at least a little bit more reasonable. After I took two more desks and chairs from my [Spatial Storage], Minerva and Hekate sat down after taking a handful of documents for them.

Of course, I trust their judgment will be as good as mine. However, just in case, I warned them to ask me first before approving or rejecting applications they're not sure of.

"So King Will has accepted our offer?"

In a certain kingdom's waiting room, two figures were talking to each other. One was a lean man with blue hair and a confident smile, while the other was a woman of ripe age, with rabbit ears flopping down her head.

"It's President now, not King, but yes, he did. So, what now? Are you going to back out, or will you continue with your offer without change?"

The man with blue hair, Zeshion, asked with a grin.

A lot of time had already passed after he got Will's agreement, but he only talked to Queen Thalia of the Cleaver Kingdom now. It wasn't some high-level political move, but rather just because he's too busy to even spare time to visit another kingdom.

"Of course, we'll proceed with the arrangement."

Queen Thalia nodded her head before clapping her hands loudly once.

"Someone, call Princess Hazel here."

Soon, the sound of hurried clanking steps echoed outside the room. Zeshion and Queen Thalia didn't utter a single word while they waited, only partaking in the prepared tea and biscuits on the small table between them.

A few minutes later, various footsteps approached the room. Two of them that sounded metallic, as if wearing full-body armor, stopped a short distance away from the door. Only the soft, dainty echoing steps approached and knocked on the door.

"Mother, this is Hazel."

A soft voice, as refreshing as the morning chorus of birds, echoed from beyond the door.

"Enter."

After the short word from Queen Thalia, the door opened to reveal a beautiful girl. She stood roughly 1.5 meters tall, a little short considering her age, but anyone looking at her would feel it was reasonable. The vector of her growth was seemingly pointed at a different place, after all.

Her gestures were refined enough that you wouldn't think she was barely 12 years old. Even Zeshion, who has lived quite a while, hasn't seen a girl of her age able to replicate what she was displaying.

"Mother, have you called for me?"

She curtsied at the door as soon as she noticed Zeshion's presence. Even though they're from a different kingdom, the God Tamers were famous enough to be recognized at a glance.

"Hazel, my dear. The deal was accepted. In a few days, we'll visit King, or rather, President Will, and meet him."

Princess Hazel's eyebrows twitched, but as if hiding it from the two before her, she bowed gracefully.

"As you command. I'm prepared to accomplish my duty, Queen Thalia."

After that, Queen Thalia, Princess Haze, and God Zeshion continued their discussion. Arranging the lodgings for their visit, preparing guards, and even a proper venue to reveal the engagement between Will and Hazel. There was a lot to discuss.

By the time they finished arranging everything, the sun had already set. Zeshion immediately left, opening a crack in space and vanishing without a trace.

Three days—that's the time that Will had to prepare to receive the delegates of the Cleaver Kingdom.

After their meeting, Princess Hazel returned to her room, her steps heavy and her face crumpled. As soon as she closed the door of her room, she ran to her bed and buried her face on her pillow, crying her eyes out.

As a princess, she was prepared to sacrifice herself for the sake of the kingdom. However, as a human being, she still had feelings too.

An arranged marriage with a person she hasn't even met before, not out of love but out of duty. The burden of carrying the entire nation's fate on her shoulders. The pressure and expectations from those around her, combined with her young age, made it an arduous task.

Now, with no eyes on her, she could only grieve as much as she could.
