During the entire day, Ye Sheng and the other students continued to practice the Bodybuilding Technique. Unfortunately, not a single one of them succeeded in mastering it.

That night, Ye Sheng returned to his room. Zhou Meiren hadn’t come back yet, so Ye Sheng was all by himself in this large space. He closed his eyes and started inspecting his dantian, Earth.

He had passed on the Bodybuilding Technique to them in the morning, and now, when he took a look, he realized that five of them had already mastered the first move: the calf-training exercise.

Ye Sheng was speechless. He just felt terribly ashamed. These Earthlings were smarter than he was.

He observed the movements, faces, and mannerisms of these five people who had mastered the technique, and he started to understand the exercise a little bit more.

Ye Sheng quietly followed their steps and began to train himself.

His calf muscles started to tremble and shake very slightly. It wasn’t visible from the outside, and it looked like nothing was moving, but beneath the skin, every single muscle was shaking.

He had gained a little bit of control now.

After some time, Ye Sheng went one step further and made his thigh shake as well. One leg had finally mastered this exercise.

With the help of the Earthlings, Ye Sheng had finally mastered the first step of the Bodybuilding Technique.

Even though evidently he wasn’t as gifted as the Earthlings, his observation skills were excellent. While he had been practicing in class earlier, he wasn’t able to observe Zi Yuantian closely, but now he could watch the Earthlings closely since they couldn’t see him anyway.

After he’d finished practicing the first move, Ye Sheng felt as if this leg seemed a lot lighter than it had before. Every time he took a step forward, his muscles were trembling.

Ye Sheng continued to practice under the moonlight without any distractions, until Zhou Meiren finally came back.

He was in a purple robe and looked very handsome. He looked at Ye Sheng and raised his eyebrows. “Working so hard? You’re even practicing at night?”

Ye Sheng didn’t reply and treated his words as merely wind blowing past his ears.

Zhou Meiren saw that Ye Sheng was ignoring him and just smiled faintly without getting angry. He said, “One of your relatives has come to look for you.”

Ye Sheng stopped his movements and straightened up slowly. He looked at Zhou Meiren, puzzled.

His relative?

Who was it?

Zhou Meiren stretched his arm out to point at someone standing beneath a Japanese pagoda tree not too far away from them.

This person was shrouded in the shadow of the tree, so Ye Sheng couldn’t see who it was. He walked over feeling confused.

Zhou Meiren stood where he was and just watched what was going on quietly.

As he got closer, Ye Sheng could see the face of the person who had come, and a name appeared in his mind.

Ye Han!

This was Lord Ye’s fourth child. His mother had passed away when he was very young, and First Madam didn’t like him either. After Hu Mei married Lord Ye, Hu Mei decided to get Ye Han on her side. When she found out that he was rather gifted in martial arts, Hu Mei continued to groom him.

Ye Sheng stopped where he stood and didn’t go any closer.

Since this was someone on Hu Mei’s team, Ye Sheng didn’t want to have anything to do with him. Besides, this Fourth Brother had never been kind to him. He had hit and scolded him in the past, and his attitude toward Ye Sheng had been wicked.

“Why, have you forgotten all your manners? Don’t you see your Fourth Brother is here?” came a shout. Ye Han walked out from under the tree since it became evident that Ye Sheng wasn’t going to go any nearer to him.

His face was icy, and he was a tall, large man. A tough and aggressive aura emanated from his body. He looked similar to Ye Sheng, but he had a wilder, rougher look. Ye Sheng had a much gentler demeanor, since he had inherited his mother’s incomparable beauty.

Ye Sheng frowned and said, “Why are you looking for me?”

Ye Han laughed coldly and replied, “You’re really an ungrateful brat. We’ve brought you up, and you won’t even greet your Fourth Brother anymore. Just because you’ve left the manor, you think you’re really something now?”

Ye Sheng’s expression turned cold now also. His face looked as if it was covered by frost. His gaze became icy, and he said, “Don’t tell me you’re so bored that you’ve come to make trouble for me late at night?”

Ye Han folded his arms and sneered disdainfully, “You’re not worth my trouble. You’re 16, but you’re only at Acquired Level Third Stage. You’re just a little better than a good-for-nothing. I don’t want to see you at all.”

“Then you can leave,” said Ye Sheng coldly.

“Before leaving, I want you to kneel down and let me beat you up,” said Ye Han. He said these words very flippantly, as if he were just asking Ye Sheng to have a meal or drinks with him.

This was clearly intended to show his disregard for Ye Sheng.

“Is your head damaged or something?” snorted Ye Sheng. “You are no different from me. We are both children who are unloved by the family. Don’t think that you’re very high and mighty. You are my Fourth Brother only because we are biologically related, but you’re extremely disgusting to me.”

“Excellent, I think the same way about you. I’m very disgusted to have a piece of trash as a younger brother. If Second Madam hadn’t told me to teach you a good lesson, I wouldn’t have cared about you at all,” said Ye Han with a threatening smile.

Ye Sheng got it now. So Hu Mei was the one behind this.

“Oh, my, I nearly forgot. You’ve always been Hu Mei’s little doggie who barks any time she calls. If she throws you a bone, you become beside yourself with joy,” said Ye Sheng sarcastically.

“Are you asking to get killed!” A murderous look flashed in Ye Han’s eyes as his fury rose.

“Did I say something wrong?” Ye Sheng snorted. “Everybody in Ye Manor knows that Hu Mei is the one who has given you the confidence to be so arrogant. You wish you could just kneel on the floor and lick Hu Mei’s shoes every day. There’s even a rumor within the household that you have a crush on her too. You’re the child of a maid, but you’ve fallen in love with your own father’s second wife. Is that why Hu Mei chased you out of Ye Manor?”

This was an old memory that had suddenly appeared in Ye Sheng’s mind.

At the time of this incident, Eldest Sister hadn’t married the emperor yet, and Ye Han was still living in Ye Manor. He followed Hu Mei around all the time, and since Hu Mei was both extremely charming and alluring, she was well able to capture lots of men’s hearts. On top of that, she had lent the young Ye Han a helping hand, so Ye Han loved following Hu Mei around all the time and was actually more reliant on her than Ye Qing was.

But Ye Han was still quite young then and didn’t know how to hide his own emotions at all. The older folks in the manor noticed his behavior and felt that it was a bad sign. If they let this go on, a scandal could arise in the household.

So eventually Ye Han was chased out of the manor by Hu Mei. He was given some of Lord Ye’s property to own and manage, so that he could live independently.

After Ye Han left, the rumors in the manor died down. Ye Sheng couldn’t remember if anyone had ever said anything more about this incident. If he hadn’t seen Ye Han today, he wouldn’t even have remembered who he was.

Ye Han’s expression got terrifyingly dark. He glared at Ye Sheng with fire spewing from his eyes. “How dare you insult Second Madam! It looks like I’m going to have to use my authority as your older brother to teach this ill-disciplined younger brother of mine a lesson.”

PAK!

A slap came Ye Sheng’s way. Ye Han was extremely quick and was way faster than Li Ying had been earlier in the day. Ye Han was at Acquired Level Seventh Stage, so even Ye Sheng had trouble dodging this slap.

Ye Han’s expression was icy and his eyes were spewing fire as he glared extremely aggressively at Ye Sheng. He couldn’t wait to chop Ye Sheng into pieces.

“Add on the strength of 30 people,” Ye Sheng gave a low shout as his body retreated at high speed, so he managed to avoid this slap.

“I haven’t seen you in a few years, and a good-for-nothing like you has actually gotten this capable?” asked Ye Han in surprise.

“It’s only been a few years. I’m quite surprised that you’re here at Jixia Academy. Don’t tell me that hussy Hu Mei helped you get in here? Looks like you two are still secretly in contact, huh? You’re such a tough, aggressive guy, I guess she can’t bear to let you go.” Ye Sheng provoked Ye Han right back.

“You’re asking to die!” Ye Han flew into a rage and gave a low shout. He charged toward Ye Sheng like a rhinoceros and was ready to smash himself into him.

DONG! DONG! DONG!

The ground was shaking, and the soil flew off in all directions.

Ye Sheng brought one arm down with the added strength of 30 people to strike Ye Han. It caused a muffled sound to echo all around him. Ye Sheng’s wrist felt numb, and he quickly retreated after that hit.

Ye Han’s body shuddered as his advancing steps were blocked, and he stopped dead. His back was red and swollen from Ye Sheng’s hit.

“You could actually block my attack?” Ye Han stared at Ye Sheng in great shock.
