The Indifferent Young Master's Flash Marriage

Chapter 138 - Work Is A Small Thing

Chapter 138: Work Is A Small Thing

Among these people, there were people whose positions were lower than hers and some other whose positions were higher than hers. If not for her special relationship with Jiang Xuecheng, she was afraid they would not take the initiative to greet her.

Su Wan greeted them back gently. “Good morning.”

The minute her voice died down, Jiang Xuecheng tugged at her. “Wan Wan, let’s go.”

Jiang Xuecheng’s eyes swept across the surroundings and he did not approve of Su Wan’s discretion.

Su Wan smiled awkwardly toward her colleagues and nodded apologetically as she quickly entered the lift with Jiang Xuecheng.

Only when Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng had gone far away and they were sure that both of them could not hear their discussion that they started to whisper.

However, the management of Di Chen’s headquarters was strict and everyone was afraid that what they said would fall into the ears of the management. Hence, no one dared to comment if Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng were well-matched. They generally envied Su Wan for being able to marry into the Jiang family.

The most honorable and eligible bachelor had been snatched by Su Wan just like this. Many people’s hearts were broken!

Many envied Su Wan’s good luck.

Su Wan and Jiang Xuecheng walked into his private elevator. Su Wan looked into the mirror and saw their reflections. She let out a sigh of relief.

“Xuecheng, don’t you feel awkward being surrounded and watched by a group of people?”

Jiang Xuecheng’s cold eyes were moving and they fell on the creases between Su Wan’s brows. “It’ll be okay when you get used to it.”

The man’s deep voice entered her ears. Although she knew Jiang Xuecheng’s usual style, she was taken aback for a moment and immediately pouted. “You’re a person who ignores others. It would be best for you to enter the world of showbiz.”

This man had outstanding appearance, great abilities, and skills. If he were to make his career in showbiz, he would definitely be sought after by millions of girls.

Moreover, with such a family background, the fans would not be worried about their idol getting into trouble.

Jiang Xuecheng touched Su Wan’s hair and said, “How sure are you that I’ve never been invited to start a career in showbiz before?”

Su Wan’s face was slightly warm. She shrunk her head and said, “Don’t touch me like that in the office. It won’t be good.”

Jiang Xuecheng narrowed his dark eyes and smiled. “Do you mean I can touch you as I like when we are out of the office?”

Su Wan glared at Jiang Xuecheng, “Hey, don’t twist my words. You know I don’t...”

Before Su Wan could finish her sentence, there was a ding and the elevator arrived at the twenty-seventh floor where Jiang Xuecheng’s office was situated.

Seeing Jiang Xuecheng walking out of the lift, Su Wan followed hastily.

This was Su Wan’s first time in Jiang Xuecheng’s office. The decorations such as the cold colors and the low-profile style were all similar to his office in Long Teng International.

The whole of the twenty-seventh floor at Di Chen Group was Jiang Xuecheng’s exclusive zone. It was well-equipped and included a private kitchen, a private gym, and a private resting room.

After Jiang Xuecheng sat down on the couch, Su Wan quickly sat down opposite him and began asking him her previous questions with nosiness.

“How could the Jiang family allow you to have a career in showbiz? Tell me, who invited you into the showbiz business? The idea is too bold!”

These few years, the Jiang family had slowly withdrawn for the political world but their influence was not something to be underestimated. The one who dared to bring the young master to be a celebrity was really bold and brave.

Jiang Xuecheng took up a file on the table and his voice was as calm as water. “The Beitong celebration banquet will be held in a few days. You’ll be able to see the bold person by then.”

When Jiang Xuecheng mentioned the Beitong bid, Su Wan was stunned. Immediately, she recalled why she was here.

“Yes, do I have to attend the Beitong celebration banquet? Will I be an audience or what should I do?”

Jiang Xuecheng smiled faintly and pushed the documents in his hand to her.

“Could you, as a project writer, not attend? Take a good look at this information. Your role this time will not be as tiring as the previous charity dinner.”

Su Wan flipped through the project paper of the Beitong celebration banquet. After she browsed through a few pages, she understood her duty.

“So, I just have to speak according to the script after the emcee invites me to the stage, right?”

Jiang Xuecheng nodded faintly and added, “If you wish to have an impromptu speech, you could too. Anyway, this will be Di Chen Group’s internal event and only one media company has been invited. You can take it easy.”

Jiang Xuecheng would never tell her that the purpose he organized this event was to let everyone know Su Wan better.

Su Wan was just like a piece of jade waiting to be carved. Although she was not perfect, her victory lay in her own brilliance. What she lacked now was an opportunity to perform and express herself.

After listening to Jiang Xuecheng, Su Wan nodded. Then, she looked down to continue reading the project paper of Beitong’s celebration banquet.

Jiang Xuecheng had never seen Su Wan this serious before. She was as if fully engaged in work and completely neglected the person sitting next to her.

Suddenly, Jiang Xuecheng felt uncomfortable. “Are small matter like work more important than me in your heart?”

“Work is not a small thing.”

Su Wan did not look at Jiang Xuecheng. She merely muttered with her head down.

When Su Wan brushed him off, a sudden surge of cheekiness arose and he wrapped his arms around Su Wan’s shoulders.

Su Wan was caught off guard and fell into Jiang Xuecheng’s embrace.

Su Wan raised her head to look at him, frowning. “Hey, are you jealous of my work?”

As she spoke, she tried to push him away to continue reading the project paper. However, Jiang Xuecheng’s lips came pressing onto hers.

Su Wan widened her beautiful eyes. This was the headquarters of Di Chen Group. Could this man have the correct sense of time and place?

Jiang Xuecheng supported Su Wan’s head with one hand while his other hand seized Su Wan’s arm.

He looked at Su Wan without moving. His dark eyes showed complication which was beyond comprehension, as if his self-control would be out of control at any time when facing the little woman in front of him.

Su Wan’s ears were red and her heartbeat began to go haywire. Her voice was a little more rapid.

Just as she was thinking how to push him away, there was a knock on the door.

“Young Master, can I come in?”

It was Ah Si.

Su Wan was happy. She quickly pinched Jiang Xuecheng’s arm. He finally let go of her and his usual calm voice was now hoarse.

“Come in.”

Ah Si opened the door and looked around. He saw Su Wan in the office. Her collar was a little crumpled and her hair was a little messy.

Ah Si understood clearly what had happened but he did not show it on his face. “Young Master, Mr. Li wants to see you.”
