The Indifferent Young Master's Flash Marriage

Chapter 216 - You Can’t Fool Yourself

Chapter 216: You Can’t Fool Yourself

That gorgeous girl was Sheng An’ning, wasn’t she?

Su Wan saw the eyes of the people around her fixed on Sheng An’ning and heard faint exclamation.

That girl was beautiful, perhaps even more gorgeous than the celebrities on TV!

However, just a glimpse of her made one suffocate and unable to regain their senses.

As Su Wan looked at Sheng An’ning’s face from the side, which was as beautiful as a rose, there was discomfort in her heart.

Sheng An’ning was indeed pretty and she was more beautiful in person than in pictures, making one unable to move their eyes away from her. This charm didn’t only come from her delicate facial features but a kind of tranquil temperament emitted from within.

In this modern society, it was rare to find a classical beauty like Sheng An’ning.

Sheng An’ning seemed to be used to being the focus of many. She raised her head slightly and her clear eyes landed on Jiang Xuecheng. Her eyes were filled with deep admiration.

“Brother Xuecheng, you’ve come to pick me up. I’m so happy...”

Sheng An’ning’s heart and eyes were full of Jiang Xuecheng. She ignored Su Wan, who was standing beside him.

Su Wan was not pleased with Sheng An’ning casting her covetous eyes on Jiang Xuecheng.

Su Wan coughed softly and was about to say something to break this strange atmosphere.

However, Jiang Xuecheng beat her to it and started explaining to Sheng An’ning.

“It’s not I who wanted to come and pick you. It’s Wan Wan who promised my mother. To accompany her, I have no choice but to come.”

When Jiang Xuecheng’s cold and distant voice entered her ear, Sheng An’ning’s smile froze.

Sheng An’ning shifted her eyes on Su Wan. She seemed to have only just noticed the girl with long hair on her shoulders. Sheng An’ning looked at Su Wan, who had the same almond eyes and dimples as her and at that instant, complicated emotions crept into her eyes.

The day before, when Xu Ziyao contacted her, she mentioned that Jiang Xuecheng had married a girl called Su Wan.

When Sheng An’ning heard the news of Jiang Xuecheng being married, she could not accept it!

She had originally dreamt of confessing to Jiang Xuecheng when she returned to see if he liked her.

However, Jiang Xuecheng had gotten married so hastily, giving her no time.

Just when the three of them felt awkward, a rascal’s voice came from behind.

“An’ning, you’re too ungrateful. You ran straight over when you saw my brother and left all the luggage to me. I’m so tired.”

Su Wan followed the voice and saw a tall and skinny young man walking over. He was wearing a white shirt and pulling the luggage while carrying two heavy backpacks on his shoulders.

However, although he looked unkempt, it didn’t take away half of that man’s good looks.

The bright and handsome boy was undoubtedly Jiang Xuecheng’s younger brother, Jiang Haoxuan.

Jiang Haoxuan and Jiang Xuecheng looked a little alike. Blood ties were amazing. His facial contour was as deep as Jiang Xuecheng’s but his eyes appeared to be livelier.

When he smiled, there was an unbridled youth.

On Sheng An’ning’s exquisite face, a shallow smile appeared. “I seem to remember someone offering to carry my luggage just now.”

Jiang Haoxuan walked slowly toward Sheng An’ning. He shrugged helplessly and in his eyes were lots of doting.

Sheng An’ning stuck out her tongue and took a backpack from Jiang Haoxuan’s hand as she said softly, “Thank you Haoxuan.”

Jiang Haoxuan tapped Sheng An’ning’s shoulder and then looked at Jiang Xuecheng. He greeted his brother smilingly, “Brother, we’ve not seen one another for a long time.”

Seeing Jiang Xuecheng nod faintly, Jiang Haoxuan turned toward Su Wan. Suddenly, his smile froze and there was a strange look on his face.

Curved eyebrows, a pair of watery almond eyes and shallow dimples on the cheeks.

“Brother, on the way home, I kept thinking what kind of girl you would take fancy to. Hmm, I’d never expected her to look a little similar to An’ning, but I still think An’ning is better looking...”

Jiang Haoxuan commented on Su Wan openly. His unrestrained look and tone made Su Wan very uncomfortable.

Jiang Haoxuan seemed to detest her. Was it because of Sheng An’ning?

When Su Wan saw Jiang Haoxuan carrying the luggage just now, he looked like a lively and pleasant boy but his tone was impolite and he was disrespectful towards his sister-in-law.

Su Wan suppressed all kinds of conjectures in her heart. She calmly met Jiang Haoxuan’s gaze and spoke indifferently.

“You’re Haoxuan, aren’t you? I kept thinking how Xuecheng’s brother would look like too. Although you and your brother’s facial features are similar, to me, Xuecheng is a lot more handsome than you.”

Jiang Haoxuan raised his brows. He seemed to have not expected Su Wan, who looked quiet, to use his words against him.

When Jiang Xuecheng heard what Su Wan said, he smiled. It was rare to hear Su Wan praising him in front of people.

Jiang Xuecheng looked at Jiang Haoxuan and Sheng An’ning. Then, very naturally, he held Su Wan’s hand and walked out of the arrival hall with her.

“Both of you should address Wan Wan as ‘Sis-in-Law’ in the future. Mother has booked a private room at Weiyang Restaurant. We’ll go directly to the restaurant.”

When Sheng An’ning saw Jiang Xuecheng holding Su Wan’s hand, she couldn’t help biting her lips. When did Jiang Xuecheng ever treat a woman so gently?

She had admired him for many years since she was young. Why would she not know that Jiang Xuecheng didn’t like to be near people?

However now, there was a person whom Jiang Xuecheng treated differently. She had turned him into a person who had less apathy, more gentleness, and an increase of smiles which were far and few in the past.

When she captured these changes in Jiang Xuecheng, Sheng An’ning’s heart sank all of a sudden. She understood that she no longer stood a chance.

She was a smart and arrogant girl and would definitely not fool herself.

It was absolutely not because Su Wan’s charm was similar to hers that Jiang Xuecheng married Su Wan.

All these years, if Jiang Xuecheng was interested in her, why would he remain cold when she deliberately expressed her feelings?

Before Sheng An’ning went to Dong Chen Country to further her studies, she had bravely asked Jiang Xuecheng if he wanted her to stay. If he was willing, she would give up the chance to study abroad.

However, Jiang Xuecheng only advised her not to be self-willed. He did not utter a single word of consolation.

The past was connected with the current scene. Sheng An’ning’s eyes flashed and she covered up her jealousy and sadness carefully.

She ran to Su Wan with a bright smile on her face.

“Calling you ‘Sis-in-Law’ feels so old-fashioned. Why don’t I call you Wan and you call me An’ning?”
