Chapter 327: 272, Cross-Regional Procurement (Happy Lunar New Year's Eve!)
Chapter 327: Chapter 272, Cross-Regional Procurement (Happy Lunar New Year’s Eve!)
A level 12 Dwarf Smith.
Among various races, Dwarves indeed surpass other races in forging skills.
This is not to say that other races do not have professional high-level blacksmiths, but that Dwarves are more adept at such professions.
“Continue,” Wu Heng continued to look at the second coffin.
“Suyales, Wood Elf, 374 years old, died of assassination, level 11 Gardener.”
“Hulian, Human Race, 38 years old, died in a sea disaster, level 10 Chef.”
The second corpse was a tall figure with hands clasped in front of the chest, the face intact, no signs of decomposition, probably had not been dead for long.
Wood Elves are a type of Elf, but Wu Heng had yet to understand the specific differences between them and the Elf Race.
The third body was a human male without any distinctive features, the body had been treated and the face was unclear.
After looking over them, Wu Heng returned to his chair and said, “I’ll take these three bodies, commission a change though, I don’t need the professions of a Gardener or Chef.”
“Of course, customer,” the man still wore a smile and arranged a new commission, also saying, “Customer, you also need to settle for these three bodies with 1700 silver coins.”
Wu Heng nodded and took out the corresponding silver coins.
He had the coffin lids closed and put into the Space Ring.
The man continued, “The new commission has been filled out.”
“Hmm, post it and I’ll come back in a couple of days.”
“Of course, customer.”
After the conversation was over, Wu Heng didn’t stay longer.
He left the consortium directly.
…
After leaving the consortium,
Wu Heng continued on to the ‘Lighthouse Street’ blacksmith shop.
“Customer, you’re here early today,” the headscarf-tied owner greeted warmly.
The crossbow arrows purchased before were all from this place.
He could take the complete selection of arrows in the store.
“Hmm, business seems good today,” Wu Heng said casually as he entered the shop.
“It’s all thanks to some regulars looking out for us.”
Wu Heng did not continue the chat, his gaze sweeping over the shop’s counter.
He asked, “How much for these two crossbows?”
“Strong crossbows for 32 silver coins, and these hand crossbows for 28 silver coins,” the owner introduced.
There are three major types of crossbows: the strong crossbow, hand crossbow, and arm crossbow.
The strong crossbow is a two-handed crossbow with high power and range but equally heavy. The hand crossbow is a lighter crossbow, more convenient to operate due to its lighter weight, but with reduced power and range in comparison.
The arm crossbow is mounted on an arm guard and is commonly used for assassinations.
“How many do you have in stock?” Wu Heng asked as he walked.
The owner’s eyes narrowed and he immediately felt a surge of excitement.
The customer before him was known for buying out the stock.
Previously, the store’s stock of crossbow arrows and arrows had been completely purchased by him.
“Wait a moment, let me take a count,” the owner said immediately.
Soon, a clerk returned with the count.
He said, “12 strong crossbows, 35 hand crossbows!”
The owner looked at Wu Heng, “Customer, that’s all we have.”
“Make it cheaper, I’ll take them all.”
“I really can’t go lower on the price…”
“Pack them up, I’ll take them all,” Wu Heng said directly.
“Alright, I’ll get them ready for you now,” the owner called his clerks to prepare them while Wu Heng sat and waited for a while.
Soon, the crossbows were ready.
Wu Heng paid the corresponding silver coins and took them all.
As he left the shop, the owner followed closely, “If there’s anything the customer needs, please come again.”
Wu Heng nodded and left without delay.
…
Next, he continued on to the other few shops in the area.
He bought all the crossbows available.
In total, he had acquired over seventy strong crossbows and over a hundred hand crossbows.
After leaving the shop beneath his feet, Wu Heng did not inquire about other places selling weapons.
He hailed a carriage and headed straight towards the outskirts of the city.
Once he reached a secluded area and the carriage had left,Nôv(el)B\\jnn
he took out ‘the train conductor’s hat’ and put it on his head.
The next second, the whistle blew, and the Phantom Train appeared out of thin air, stopping right in front of him.
Wu Heng, with his two skeleton attendants, boarded the train and wrote ‘Netalee City’ in the travel ledger.
Netalee City, a port city of the Yeko Kingdom.
A few hours later,
the train arrived at the edge of a forest outside ‘Netalee City’.
After confirming the direction, he headed directly towards the city.
He entered the commercial district.
Wu Heng walked into a shop.
The owner was a middle-aged man, scolding two clerks in hushed tones.
Seeing Wu Heng enter, he switched back to a friendly demeanor, “What does the customer need? We offer both retail and trade.”
Wu Heng circled around the shop and looked up at the strong crossbows hanging above.
“How much is this crossbow?” Wu Heng asked.
“30 silver coins. This type of strong crossbow is our export version, moderately weighted and stable in performance. It’s very popular among all races,” the proprietor introduced.
“And the hand crossbow?”
“25 silver coins for the hand crossbow.”
“What are the requirements for export, and roughly how much would it cost?”
“For orders over 200 units, the strong crossbow is priced at 28 silver coins, and the hand crossbow at 20 silver coins.”
The prices were considerably cheaper than Gold and Silver Island.
Wu Heng took a strong crossbow from the counter, checked it over, and said directly, “I’ll take 500 strong crossbows, and I’ll take them now.”
He had bought some hand crossbows on Gold and Silver Island already.
He wasn’t sure yet if they would be popular in the shelters, so he would decide later whether to continue purchasing them.
The proprietor’s face lit up at the direct order.
But then he shook his head immediately and said, “Customer, we don’t have that many in stock. For export, we need to plan and prepare the goods in advance.”
“What a hassle!” Wu Heng muttered, then continued to ask, “So how many do you have in your store?”
The proprietor flipped through the record book on the table.
“We can deliver 120 strong crossbows to you. If you are placing an order, we can write up an export contract for you, and give you these at the export price,” the proprietor said.
120 crossbows were about right.
The various shelters were unlikely to purchase in large quantities anyway.
“If I place an order, how long will it take to deliver?” Wu Heng continued to ask.
“It will take about ten days.”
“Fine, let’s sign a contract then. I’ll send someone to pick them up when they’re ready.”
The proprietor immediately instructed someone to prepare the contract and offered tea and conversation to Wu Heng in the meantime.
Wu Heng signed the purchase contract, paid the deposit, and received the 120 prepared strong crossbows.
Without lingering, he walked straight out of the shop.
…
Standing on the road, he looked around and then headed directly to the opposite armor store.
The female owner of the store saw Wu Heng coming over and the weapon shop proprietor seeing him out.
Her expression immediately froze.
She adjusted her loose clothes and promptly got up to greet him at the door.
“Customer, what do you need?”
“I’m here to look at armor,” Wu Heng said as he entered the store.
The female proprietor followed him with a smile.
There were more varieties of armor than weapons. After looking around, Wu Heng pointed at a set of leather armor and asked, “How much for this kind?”
The armor was leather overall, but with metal plates attached to the arms, shoulders, and chest area.
It wasn’t too heavy and could protect against zombie bites.
“One set for 35 silver coins; for export, we can do 32 silver coins.”
“How many do you have in your warehouse?”
“There are over 50 sets in the warehouse.”
“Write me an order for 500 sets, include these 50, I’ll take them now.”
The eyes of the female proprietor brightened, and joy spread across her face, “I’ll go get the order form.”
When she came back, she bowed and handed over the order.
The dipping neckline revealed a large expanse of fair skin.
Wu Heng glanced at it, then looked up at the female proprietor, who was smiling, “Customer, please take care of our business in the future.”
“Sure, let’s sit down and talk,” Wu Heng nodded.
The armor order was signed, and he had the armor ready.
Wu Heng put them into his Space Ring, stood up, and left.
He left the city and found a quiet spot to board the train back to Gold and Silver Island.
…
He returned to his residence.
The sky was nearing dusk.
Traveling from Gold and Silver Island to Netalee City by boat took five days.
Even with the Phantom Train, it still took five hours.
Mini and Andre Willow hadn’t returned yet.
Wu Heng quickly sorted his things and passed through the boundary door to the Zombie World.
Descending the stairs, Li Yahong was directing the shelter, moving scavenged supplies to the designated warehouse.
“You’ve collected quite a bit of daily necessities,” Li Yahong said as he came over when he saw him.
The shops in Lundham City were closed.
Li Yahong was still collecting various daily necessities.
“Wait a few more days, and I’ll take them then.”
“Yes! The warehouse is getting a bit full.”
The shelter’s supplies kept growing, and they had started expanding the warehouse beyond the passenger terminal.
“Let’s go to the warehouse,” Wu Heng said.
The two went to the warehouse, and Wu Heng took out three coffins.
Upon opening the coffin lids, the corpses inside were exposed.
Wu Heng glanced at it and directly cast “Bone Manipulation Skill” on the Dwarf.
The flesh fell off, revealing the gleaming white skeleton, which sat up from the coffin.
“Skeleton Blacksmith (Level 12)”
