Chapter 373 - I'm Comiiiing!
Evelynn remembered what she had thought of in the past and she remembered thinking that it was of no importance, knowing why Aiden wanted to kill him.
"No answer?" David continued.
He would continue and continue until she was on the verge of breaking down.
'A little more, and she might just help me,' David thought, ignoring one important detail.
The thing that David ignored was that this conversation had no use whatsoever for one simple reason. David ignored that she had a Slave Contract with Aiden which made everything that he had said in this conversation completely useless.
Even if Evelynn wanted to help him, she wouldn't even be able to.
"I guess you really are a whore, not even knowing the reasons why he wants to kill me," David said as he expected her to throw into a fit of anger and this is exactly what she did.
"Who the fuck do you think you are? You don't know anything about him, alright?"
David wasn't fazed in the least as he looked into her eyes instantly.
"And you do? Do you know a single thing about him?"
This time, Evelynn truly started doubting whether what she was doing right now was the right thing.
'Why am I even helping him? Why did I even kiss him? Why do I even care about him?'
There were many doubts that were starting to appear in her mind, and the director knew that they were appearing and he wouldn't stop using those doubts.
"Do you even know where he's from? Did he tell you because he sure as hell didn't tell me…"
"Of course, I know where he's from. He told me when we first met in the entrance exam, though I had no idea about what that place even was?"
The director looked at her and smiled as he knew that it was working, she was starting to doubt Aiden's motives.
"Right? I didn't either."
"What about where his skills come from? Why is he so strong?"
"Yes, his skills come from his hometown, that's where he developed them."
The director continued smiling widely, "Right! The place that you know nothing about, how convenient?!"
The director knew that his actions were currently working more and more.
"You see, I think that Aiden isn't like us. There's something about him that we don't know, and that's what I'm trying to figure out, so Evelynn… help me do so."
Evelynn was confused. She wasn't sure what she needed to do next.
'What does he mean by special?' She thought.
She knew that she wouldn't be able to betray him, but she had to admit that she was extremely curious about Aiden's past and where he came from. That was one of the things that was on her mind most of the time.
She knew that he supposedly came from far away, however, she had never been able to see any of this. However, there was one thing that kept popping up inside her mind. The fact that there was no proof about what he said.
'He just says that he comes from far away, but there wasn't proof… He's right, there's something weird here.'
Evelynn was now agreeing with the director which meant that David's plan had worked, and he had succeeded in convincing her. But, the director would soon understand that he didn't matter…
Ignoring what was going on inside her mind, David continued to pressure her. He knew that she was the key here, or at least, he thought that she was. There was nothing assured right now.
"I'm sure you also know what I'm talking about. He's just too different, he can kill without blinking a single eyelid. It's like nothing can affect him, he never heard about Magic, and he can learn it in the blink of an eye. But most of all, he has all affinities, he's not even limited by the rest of us. There's something weird about him and I want to figure it out."
Evelynn was confused when she heard that last sentence, "He has every affinity?"
She had never known that fact and she had to admit that it was simply incredible. There was never someone who had gotten such a thing. She remembered the fact that there had been a problem when learning about his affinity.
She remembered the color which was some sort of a rainbow. At the time, she thought that there was a problem with the device, but it seemed that it was Aiden who was just so special that something like that occurred.
"Yes, he told me. He has every single one of them…" The director said before realizing something else. "See, he didn't even tell you about that. Do you really think that he cares about me?"
Evelynn looked at the director and she started to realize that maybe she wasn't important at all from Aiden's point of view.
'And here I am, helping him kill the director of the Magic Academy… Just what am I doing?'
She simply couldn't believe her actions at the moment. She had even made a contract with him, a Slave Contract.
'Fuck, why did I even do that?'
She was slowly starting to realize that maybe Aiden wasn't the person that she thought he was. Now, that the director was mentioning it, everything became extremely clear in her mind.
"What do you want me to do?" She asked the director, ignoring his past question.
Evelynn needed to do if it was something that she would even be able to do since she was currently Aiden's slave which made it impossible for her to betray him.
If Aiden was here with them right now, he would be celebrating the fact that he hadn't trusted her at all.
"You need to give me the antidote to that potion!" The director said right away as he was sure that she had something to give him.
However, he understood quickly enough that it wasn't the case at all when he saw the expression that was on Evelynn's face.
"Antidote? There's no antidote, or else, I would have drank it," she told him with a very serious look on her face.
Evelynn hadn't told him that she had signed a Slave Contract, but it would soon be the case.
'There's no antidote… Fuck, then what can I do?' He thought as he knew that it would make everything a lot more difficult.
His whole plan to get out of this situation was based on this. He was sure that there must have been something to help him get his mana back. But, it seemed that it wasn't the case whatsoever.
"Then, you need to convince him to let me live. That's the only way," David said as he knew that it would be the only opportunity that he would have to stay alive.
His life was now in Evelynn's hands and her power to convince Aiden. However, there was something that would make things very complicated, the fact that she had no idea why he was doing any of this.
She had no information whatsoever, so it would make things very complicated.
"But how you just said it yourself… I don't know anything about him."
Evelynn was slowly realizing that she had no power over Aiden and that he could basically do whatever he wanted without the slightest problem.
David lost his cool when he answered this time. He knew that this thing could go south very fast.
"You need to find something and fast, or else, I will be a dead man."
He understood that the situation was now critical and that if he didn't do anything, he would be done.
'I can't rely on her, who knows what she might do?' He thought as he knew that he couldn't trust her. He had noticed how easily manipulable she was.
As David was about to say something else to Evelynn, there were steps coming from the darkness that was only a couple of steps away from them.
'Aiden.'
David only thought of his name as he knew extremely well what was happening right now. Aiden was like a grim reaper, coming to collect someone's life.
"Everything's alright?" Aiden said out loud as all his way here he had heard that there was quite an interesting conversation between the two of them.
Aiden looked to his right and saw that Evelynn was there, almost shaking for some reason.
"Are you okay? What happened?"
Evelynn seemed to have been influenced heavily by David as she looked at him basically shaking. She thought that if she said something that wasn't Aiden's taste she would be dying right here and now.
"N-Nothing, he's over there," she muttered with some difficulty.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Aiden noticed that stress, and he tried to approach her. He tried to grab one of her arms, trying to make her feel reassured. However, he was surprised when he saw the reaction that she had.
"What's happening? Why are scared?" Aiden asked as he tried once again to touch her.
"No, don't… Don't touch me!" She shouted out of nowhere, making Aiden extremely confused.
'Just what the hell happened here?'
Aiden, however, didn't bother with her at the moment as he knew that David was currently waiting for him. He was waiting to die.
"Aiden, please don't… Don't kill him!" Evelynn shouted right away when she noticed that his focus had changed.
This time, he was even more confused.
"Answer me, what happened?" Aiden said in a calm tone.
He knew that she would have no choice but to tell him. Her contract would force the answer out of her.
As she tried to resist, a purple energy started to come from her chest. Making her scream out of pain!
"Just tell me, and all of this will stop."
