The Summoner's Rebirth: Awaken, Milady

Chapter 127: The Enemy

Chapter 127: The Enemy

Aria calmed herself down, but her heartbeat was still palpitating. Even though she was mentally prepared, her body seemed to have an instantaneous reaction. It twitched at some places just by thinking about the previous incident, where she pushed her body to the maximum limits. Because she had a few fights after that, she already felt like her body tolerance level was improving with each new experience, but it was nowhere close to sustain a lot of stress.

The whirlpool grew worse by time. As she jumped upwards to get a high ground, it slowly started to transform into a water tornado and was whipping water upwards- to where she was aiming to reach safety at.

She borrowed Rallaka's powers, but the spirit was not conscious as it was still focusing on its transformation. The worst thing was that the spirit's peak seemed to happen at this time, coinciding with her fight. Aria couldn't borrow the full force of his power and could only lightly touch upon it. Just enough to create temporary platforms before it got destroyed by the water's rampage again and again.

It wasted mana, but what could she do in face of such a great wave of water splashing over her and attempting to tip her over? This was her only choice at this moment.

Alena stayed as calm  as she could as she ran checks through the dungeon boss sleeping in the body of water. She felt her System quickly respond, but she had to wait for the transfer of information to go through. Analyzing its every component and providing her with accurate information. Her heart became polluted with anxiety as she desperately shouted for the System to hurry, but of course, the process had to require time.

Aria had to move about for minutes before the child started to wake up from her focus session. She raised her head and called for Aria's attention, to which the elder noticed and replied to.

"Big sister, I have figured this dungeon out. There is a machine below the dungeon boss, the huge creature in that water. This machine is what is causing the whirlpool and water tornado. The monster is a whale, a gigantic whale covered in rocky scales. It's practically a tank, not something that could attack well. The real trouble is the machine that it is hiding below its body. As long as we destroy that thing, the water will stop fluctuating and the dungeon will be listed as resolved. There is nothing that could harm us here, but the purpose is to somehow move that whale away from the machine so we could destroy it,"

"The whale's name, is it the Rock Whale?" Aria questioned. This was the assumption that she created previously upon getting a glance at the slow moving creature.

"Yes, big sister. That is called a Rock Whale, and the System relayed to me that it should be attracted to fire. The hard cover that encases it will be burnt easily with fire, and it will not die, but fall into a petrified state. After that, we can start destroying the machine,"

Aria felt extremely grateful that she chose to borrow Alena's assistance. Although she would have figured it out nonetheless, Alena's confirmation provided assurance for her to go in without any doubts of getting hurt.

"Then... I really have no other choice than to use Igna. It's not like I'm not willing to do it, but I have to... Ahh, we can't drag this any longer, so I will just do it," Aria had a lot of internal debate going on inside herself because of this particular spirit.

There was one memorable part that she vividly remembered when it came down to this spirit. The fire spirit used to have similar conditions with her like Ilyin did with Alena. Although he did help her out of his voluntary will because Aria was able to provide him with opportunities to grow stronger in the future, it did not mean that he would unconditionally obey her.

Because Aria did not have a strong enough power to resist Igna's influence at first, she had quite a lot of problem associating herself with the spirit. Her essence at that time was filled with Dianthe's because she got extremely close to the water spirit

That was why, when a strong Fire Spirit like Igna was introduced to the party, her body encountered backlash the first time she used the spirit's power. Naturally, since she was a Summoner and not a spirit user directly, she got used to the assimilation quickly and could use the spirit's power without any restraint after a few tries.

But she remembered how it was like the first time. She experienced burning pain across all of her body. Her water essence reacted to the flame and combusted instead of getting diminished.

To counter this, there was indeed a way that she did possess right now. It was Rallaka.

'Rallaka, can you lend me your power for the time being? i have to use Igna, but my current body is too influenced by Dianthe. I used her too mu8ch, so if I change my powers to wield Igna's right now, I will definitely be in pain. I need you to cover me in the Earth element as soon as possible.' Aria communicated.

She did not expect the spirit to reply right away, but he turned out to have recovered from his focused state.

"It's perfect, actually. I have finally regained my physical form, even though a small fragment is all I can manage to channel right now. Don't worry, I will cover you fully. Give me two minutes. After that, I assure you that you can immediately switch to Igna's powers." Rallaka replied swiftly. His voice carried a tone of joy, but also seriousness.

He had been focusing on his transformation a lot lately, but it did not mean that he was unaware of what happened outside. Aria was comfortable in using Dianthe, and nothing required too much external assistance from the other spirit, so Rallaka progressed very fast in his transition. Within a set amount of time, he had successfully gained the ability to retain a fairy like form. It wasn't too grand, but it did show that his powers were steadily returning.

He was very happy and started working on Aria after catching one last glance at the battle's situation.

Aria was still jumping all over the room with her agile steps in order to avoid the powerful waves the water tornado ended up creating. She borrowed Rallaka's power to create platforms in the air, and Aria instantly felt changes within Rallaka's assistance. His powers felt smoother to process, and although it wasn't as smooth as Dianthe's, Aria was able to use it without any negative impacts unlike before Rallaka finished his job.

Aria preserved as much mana as possible for when she had to land a huge blow on the monster and the machine.

Because she was using both Rallaka and Dianthe's power at the same time, the two elements should end up balancing each other when Igna was introduced to her body. Water and Fire contradicted each other, but Fire and Earth complemented each other. Aria gulped a mouthful of saliva as she narrowly avoided a newly formed wave,  carrying Alena in her hands.

Within a short time, Rallaka was done, and Aria could feel her elements start to merge together, creating a suitable physique for Igna to enter the fray.

Aria carefully slowed down her movements as she started to channel her magic towards  the standard summoning spell. She was granted the fire spirit by the System, but unlike Dianthe and Rallaka who had an immediate connection with her, Igna needed to be channeled through the spell.

She chanted the ancient language used in her summoning spells and formed a connection with the slumbering fire spirit, who reacted to her intrusion to its space. Igna moved towards the bridge Aria extended and was able to be called out to the real world.

Feeling the spirit not show any massive negative reaction to her, Aria felt relieved as her strategy of using Rallaka seemed to have worked. Rallaka provided her a complete cover of Earth energy using his newfound polished powers, and Igna's flames were blocked from merging with the water element.

The fire spirit appeared before her. Immediately, Aria knew that she was about to work, but one thing was still left.

Alena.

If she did have to dive down, then what would happen to Alena, who she had been carrying all this time? Where wouold she stay in as she finished the quest?

Sensing Aria's hesitation as she looked at the child before her, Alena showed a troubled expression before finally calling out to the older woman.

"Big sister, please don't worry about me. I will manage. I have Ilyin by my side, so as long as you don't need her assistance, she should be able to protect me. Even if I get hurt, it's fine. As long as we come out victorious in the end.. I'm not scared, big sister. So please.. Don't worry about me and just jump in straight," Alena grasped Aria's hands and looked at her with determined eyes, pleading sincerely.
