The Villain's Little Cat

Chapter 180 - 180 Best Friend

180 Best Friend

Kyle looked at Kate deeply.

He wanted to lock her away, far away from the gaze of other people. That way, no one will be able to covet her.

But he couldn’t do it.

She wouldn’t be happy with his action.

Kyle took a deep breath and messed up Kate’s hair. Even though he knew that his thoughts were dark and dirty, he didn’t want to let this little cat stay away from him. He just wanted her to stay by his side forever.

“I know.”

“So…” Kate looked at Kyle carefully. She was not that sharp, but she could guess that he was not in the best mood right now. “Don’t be angry anymore?”

Kyle looked at Kate deeply and then nodded. “I’m not angry. I don’t want you to go with the others.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll return here after I finished.” Kate grinned.

.....

Kyle watched Kate smiled brightly.

Even though she was only a little kid right now, he felt that he could see her adult form behind her, smiling brightly towards him. It was the kind of light that he felt to be so warm and usually far away from him.

She had always been standing in the light with people loving her and she took care of them. He coveted her, but there were also many others who loved her. So, he couldn’t possibly just lock her away.

Those who loved her wouldn’t like it.

She wouldn’t like it either.

Even though he wanted to lock her away, he pushed down those thoughts because he didn’t want to push her away from him.

“Let’s eat dinner.”

“Ok!”

Following Kyle, Kate then ate with the others. No one talked about Kyle’s action and instead discussed about their next plan while they were still in this city and would not accept any other mission to exterminate those giant mutated animals yet.

There were indeed still many things to do.

“What are you planning to do?” Kyle asked after they had returned to their room.

Kate glanced at Kyle and tilted her head. “I don’t know, probably just helping out as the transporter. In any case, I don’t really have anything to do.”

Kyle thought to himself and nodded. He patted at Kate’s bed. “Sleep.”

“Yeah.”

Poof!

Kate turned into a cat once more and jumped to her bed. Her cat’s form was the best when she stayed in the same room as Kyle because this would prevent her from being so awkward with him.

She was definitely not used to sleep with a man in the same room.

Except when she’s a cat.

After turning around a few times, Kate finally settled on a position and laid down, ready to sleep.

Kyle watched her action and smiled faintly. He turned off the light and slept.

The next day, Kate was helping Jake, Marc, Robby, and Lotte at the underground area once more. Dylan was called out to help with other things while Kyle was as usual, busy killing so many giant mutated animals.

The communication center was already on the reconstruction process. It required a lot of metals so many people were working together to build it.

They all also wished to be able to contact their loved ones who were not staying with them.

The appearance of these giant mutated animals were simply too sudden.

Many people were still living in various cities, far away from their hometown. They were separated by their family and many didn’t even know whether their loved ones were still alive or not.

Even if there were only a limited number of people who could use electricity and communication, it was still one of the priority to be built. After all, as long as there was still hope, no one wanted to give up so easily.

In the evening, Kate was called out because there was someone who was looking for her. Just as Kate was wondering who it would be, she saw her parents were talking to Lucy, her best friend.

Kate’s eyes widened.

“Ah, there she is.” Kate’s Mother smiled. “Your friend is here to see you, Kate.”

Kate looked at Lucy and Lucy was also looking at Kate. On Lucy’s face, there were definitely the word of ‘disbelief’ written so clearly. There was no way that she would be able to believe that her best friend had somehow turned into a little kid in front of her.

Looking at Kate up and down, Lucy felt that her eyes were playing tricks with her. But even after rubbing her eyes a few times, the sight she saw was still the same little kid.

Kate watched Lucy’s reaction and also felt helpless about it.

There was nothing that she could do about it.

This form of hers was definitely hard to believe for most people. After all, even if the world had changed and these giant mutated animals, no one would think that it was possible for an adult to return to be a child.

Such thing hadn’t happened before.

Except in the stories….

*cough*

At the same time, Kate felt a bit conflicted. She didn’t actually want a lot of people to know that she had turned into a child. After all, it was still a rare thing that definitely would not occur to many people in their entire life.

Even seeing it would be difficult.

But Lucy was someone that Kate could trust. The two of them had been friends for a long time and had already experienced many things together.

This much should be fine.

“That’s… Kate?”

“Yes, she’s Kate. What’s wrong Lucy?” Kate’s Mother asked in a concerned tone.

Lucy forced a smile out. “I think… I need some time to digest this news.”

She really felt that the world was getting stranger and stranger. After those giant mutated animals appeared, she really couldn’t see things in the same way anymore. It was as if everything she knew was slowly being subverted.

But she had to accept it.

Because this is her reality now.
