Chapter 85 - Mother And Daughter Settles Their Differences.
Lady Chen then stopped looking at Chen Lihua.
A waiter knocked on the door and introduced himself as a waiter, so he was granted permission to enter by Lady Chen.
After entering, he greeted them and asked them they type of tea they would like to order. Lady Chen ordered first, "I would have Chamomile tea".
Madam Liu ordered second, "I would have Rose tea".
Seeing that the Elders had finished ordering, Chen Lihua decided to place her order, "I would have peppermint tea".
"No!". Lady Chen said Madam Liu loudly said in unison.
Chen Lihua was looking at them obviously confused as she didn't know the reason for their sudden disagreement. But she had to find out anyways, so she asked.
"Peppermint tea is a nice tea, it's beneficial to reduce stress and anxiety, and it also treats insomnia, so what's wrong with my order?".
Lady Chen sent the waiter away after telling him to get lemon balm tea for Chen Lihua before answering the latter.
"Although peppermint tea is an aromatic tea that reduces stress and releases you from anxiety, it's also has a side effect".
Then Lady Chen took a deep breath before continuing, "Peppermint tea is not good for pregnant women as it causes miscarriage".
Chen Lihua felt like fainting when she heard her mother talk about pregnancy. She felt so lucky that the waiter wasn't in the room right now, otherwise she wouldn't know where to put her face as she would be too embarrassed at that time.
So, Chen Lihua bowed her head and said in a low voice, "But am not pregnant, How can you talk about pregnancy when we didn't even do anything".
The 'we' Chen Lihua was referring to was she (Chen Lihua) and Liu Longwei.
Madam Liu and Lady Chen exchanged glances immediately, then they focused their gaze on Chen Lihua.
Chen Lihua was forced into a corner by their gaze, so she lowered her head to avoid their gaze.
Madam Liu then opened her mouth and said with a smile, "That's not a problem at all as you two barely know each other well enough to get into bed immediately. So, take your time".
Chen Lihua lowered her head more in embarrassment.
Lady Chen was the only clear minded person out the three at the moment, as she felt that the topic had deviated from the original track.
So she said, "Am not saying that you're pregnant. Even though you're not pregnant, you shouldn't take this tea to avoid future trouble".
Chen Lihua raised her head immediately, "Mum!, am not planning to have kids immediately so, the tea won't affect me. And besides, the tea only affects pregnant women not those that aren't pregnant. It won't be harmful to my health if I take it once in a while".
Lady Chen was almost fuming mad now, "I just finished advicing you and you're still telling me that you will take the tea once in a while?. Are you sure you're OK?".
Madam Liu saw that the situation was about to get out of hand, so she said to Chen Lihua, "Lihua you have to listen to your mother as she cares a lot about you. There are other nerve calming teas you can take instead of peppermint tea. But if you like peppermint tea so much....".
Madam Liu took a pause as she looked at Lady Chen who was staring at her as if, if she said something contrary, she would remove her eyeballs from her eye sockets.
So, she looked at Chen Lihua and hurriedly changed her speech, "You can enjoy it as much as you want after giving birth. The lemon balm tea your mother ordered for you is really nice, you should try it and see".
After listening to her mother-in-law, she found out that both women (including her mother) cared a lot about her, so she put on a smile and said in agreement, "Since you care so much about me, I will definitely listen to your advice".
Chen Lihua said looking at both women who were sitting opposite and directly facing her.
Madam Liu smiled hearing that she had agreed, while Lady Chen threw her face to another angle and said in jealousy, "I can't even be proud that I have a daughter. I just adviced and she refused to listen. But once her mother-in-law adviced her, she agreed immediately without refuting".
Madam Liu smiled proudly before saying to her, "Hasn't Lihua already agreed that she won't drink the peppermint tea, Why are you bickering, can't you be happy for once".
