Valerian, The Legendary

Chapter 290 - 290 Origin Of The Legend.

290 Origin Of The Legend.

Valerian calmly asked Leana, “What did you say?”

Leana sighed and replied, “You do not understand the meaning of the word whore, I guess. You are probably too innocent, so the dragons allowed you to climb this mountain. This woman almost stole two of my most precious things.”

Valerian tilted his head and asked, “What were those two things?”

Leana replied, “She had designs on my Brother and Divi. They were kids when they met, and for some odd reason, my Brother liked her. I was completely fine with it. However, this woman never paid any attention to him. Then, one day, she came forward to introduce me to the boy I had loved since I was young.

That day, Divi told us theirs was a fateful encounter, and they felt connected. I was vexed, but Divi was happy. I tried to endure this and tried to move on with my life. But I realized that my Brother began spending much more time with her.

If she loved Divi just as she claimed, why would she follow around my Brother?”

Valerian nodded and asked, “Then what did you do? Did you watch it from the side?”

Leana shook her head and said, “I had watched it all enough and could not stand it any longer. So, I decided to show Divi her true face. So, one day, when my Brother followed her, I showed the scene to Divi. He brushed it off and said Flo was exchanging her experiences in battle skills. My Brother is a warrior, and Flo was a battle mage, a talented wench she was.”

Valerian nodded calmly and asked, ” So, what happened then? Did you manage to save anyone?”

.....

Leana nodded and said, “I tried to reason with Divi, but gradually he developed distance from me. I was upset and angry at him. He chooses that wench over me. So, I convinced my Brother to let go of her. He did not agree at first, but then Flo and Divi decided to leave the city and go on a trip. Being the prince, my Brother could not leave with them because of his obligations as a prince.”

She paused, and after gulping down a mouthful of saliva, she said, “I decided that I will not sit back to watch all this unfold. My love was stolen away. Now I did not want my Brother to be stolen too. So, I asked him to avoid her. After that, everything was fine till five years later, when the two people returned with dragons as their magical companions.

The entire continent was bustling with excitement; even those in remote contact with those two became big shots. My family and their achievements were never celebrated like that. At the same time, the two people were away. My Brother had been shedding his blood like water to unify the entire continent. He did not say anything but kept up with it. But for how long?

One day, the two decided to marry each other, and they invited us. There, at the wedding reception, Divi has crowned the best mage in this world. My Brother did not mind it. He was even happy for him. However, when the people below us started to neglect us and treated the two of them as the emperor and empress of the continent, his patience ran out.

He apologized to me and killed Divi. However, he could not relinquish his love for that wench, even when she was carrying another man’s child. He wanted to accept her. However, that wench decided to run away. My Brother was enraged. He had everything she could’ve asked for, so he poisoned her. She managed to run away, but she must have died cruelly.”

As she said the last sentence, she smiled. She did not mind the young man looking at her calmly. Valerian also did not interrupt her. Leana said, “Tell you something that must have happened to her child. I wonder if it died or not. What would he have looked like if he were to grow up? All these questions, I cannot help but wonder.”

The young man replied, “Like me.”

His voice was low, akin to a whisper. Leana asked, “What did you say?”

Valerian replied, “I said, Like me.”

The princess of the eastern continent was confused and asked, “What are you talking about, Valerian?”

Valerian gazed at her and said, “I am talking about that child you mentioned. It would look like me.”

Leana was surprised at first, and then she laughed out loud. She thought Valerian was cracking some joke. But, instead, the young man sighed and said, “You do not seem to have loved him a lot. You do not even remember his eyes.”

This remark surprised Leana, and she stopped laughing and looked at Valerian. After this remark, Leana carefully looked at the young man, and her gaze wandered around his face. The more she looked at his profile, the more surprised she became. The surprise gradually turned into shock, and she opened her eyes wide.

Valerian stood up from the ground and said, “Hello, I am Valerian Divinus Magnus, son of Divinus and Flos. Nice to meet you, Princess Leana.”

Princess Leana was shocked. She still could not believe her eyes. How can this child live? She fell into a stupor. Valerian walked closer to her, and with a smile, he said, “See, I am his son. My mother told me that my eyes are inherited from my father.”

Leana did not know how to react when Valerian was close to her. He placed his hands around her neck and looked into her eyes. He revealed no hint of hatred or vengeance in his gaze. Instead, he said, “I want to kill your Brother, but since you said he loves you very much, his heart will ache if you die. Right?”

That said, he began to squeeze her throat hard. At this moment, a lot of things changed, both inside the boy and around the boy.

...

Sophos sighed and said, “Brace yourself against the punishment of the dragon god, Young Magnus.”

The atmosphere had turned solemn. The dragons were the strongest, but someone stronger than them was stopping them from intervening.

...

Valerian felt like the partial soul inside his body was going crazy. It wanted to take over and devour his primary consciousness. However, the young man did not say anything. His eyes turned red, and as he lost sight of the scene before him, the pressure from the throne mountain was piling up on him too.

The young man held Leana by her neck without caring whether the lady was struggling or squirming in his grip. Valerian mumbled, “Why are you so excited? Do you think I am killing her because of hatred? Pathetic partial shit. You are nothing but a parasite. Since you want to take control, you might as well take it now.”

Then Valerian intentionally pushed the partial soul out to face the pressure. Since the primary consciousness was calm and awake, the full potential of the partial soul was not released. The pressure from the mountain was akin to a grinder. This grinder will refine a person and then get rid of the impurities.

Valerian’s partial soul was going through that at the moment. The pressure was gradually evaporating the partial soul. It did not have the dexterity to face a holy element’s might. However, the partial soul did not have any thoughts. It was only relying on the hateful and grudges of the source of origins.

The dragon god’s presence would not allow such existences to survive under his direct gaze. However, Valerian was not a fool to let his hatred cloud his mind. He was pissed and wanted to kill the person, but he was calm in dealing with the two matters.

His primary conscious could watch all this from the inside and patiently wait for it to end. The struggle put up by the partial soul only resulted in a tighter grip around Leana’s neck. Valerian watched her gradually lose her energy to struggle. She seemed to be a mage with excellent skills; however, this mountain barred mana.

If she had any physical skills, the war-crazed partial soul strong-armed her. After a few minutes, the partial soul was on its last leg, and Leana had lost consciousness. She was not breathing now, but Valerian could sense a shallow heartbeat.

Valerian did not take control. He began to focus on being more laid back so that the partial soul was completely dealt with. After a few minutes, the partial soul let out a roar expressing unwillingness. However, it was eventually eradicated.

Valerian was back in control of his body. His willingness to stay on the sidelines prevented him from blacking out. He looked at the neck in his grasp, and then holding the chin and the lady’s skull under him, he twisted it hard and quickly.

Leana Tyrant died. Valerian smiled and said, “Hehehe, what did you say? Whore?”

Holding the hair of the lady, he dragged her dead body above.
