Volume 3 Chapter 12: Heading To The Hideout

"Thank you so much for saving us, Sir." The coachman walked up to Keith and thanked him. He knew if Keith didn't help, the carriage would have been in trouble.

"It's fine. How is everyone in the carriage?" Keith questioned.

The coachman stated, "They're fine. Luckily, if it wasn't for you and Sir Gabriel, we wouldn't have gotten out of this alive,"

"I did what I should," Gabriel answered calmly. He was the one who faced more than 10 bandits alone.

"I will help with tending the wounded," The coachman stated as he walked to the guards.

Handsome.

Now that Keith looked at Gabriel more closely, he looked really handsome. He had an androgynous look. His hair was light brown, and his skin was smooth and white.

"Thank you for assisting me," Gabriel smiled at Keith.

Keith waved his hand, "It was my pleasure,"

"My name is Gabriel. What about you?" Gabriel greeted as he raised his hand. Keith shook his hand,

"My name is Keith."

Strong. That was the feeling Keith got as he held his hand.

"Ho!" "Po!" Keith chuckled, "This here is Aria and Mir,"

"Cute," Gabriel smiled as he stared at the two.

...

"Sir Keith, where are you heading off to now?" After a few minutes, the coachman returned to Keith.

"I'm heading towards the royal capital," When Keith said that, the coachman bowed his head,

"I'm sorry to ask you of this, but could you protect us?!"

"Hmm?" Keith tilted his head.

"You see. Some of the guards are injured." With so many bandits attacking them, it wasn't a surprise some guards were injured in battle.

"We lack the manpower needed to protect the carriage. And we have to drag the bandits to the capital as well." They needed to bring the bandits to the royal capital to cash in the reward.

"Sir Gabriel, I need your help as well. I will pay you both. Please help us,"

"I'm okay with that," "Sure, I don't mind." The two nodded their heads. The coachman brightened,

"Thank you so much! The two of you can watch the east side. Sir Gabriel, I will let you borrow one of our horses."

"Understood," Gabriel nodded.

Keith asked the coachman, "Um, could you guys wait a bit before we set off."

"Hmm?" The coachman tilted his head when he heard that.

Keith explained, "With such a large group of bandits, their base should be around here." That was what Keith realized. Such a large group of bandits.

There was no way they would be moving their loot from place to place.

They would definitely have a base set up around here. This was something Michael taught him.

"Of course," The coachman nodded. One of the guards questioned the bandit's leader,

"Where is your base?"

The leader scoffed, "Do you think I will tell you where our location is?"  Did he think he was a fool?

"There's no need to question him," Keith raised his hand. There was no way he was going to reveal it.

"Aria, you're back," Keith smiled as he saw Aria flying back down.

"Did you find their base?"

"Ho!" Aira made a sound, saying yes.

"Good. Gabriel, do you want to come with me?"

"Sure," Gabriel nodded his head. He didn't mind going with him. But the coachman interjected,

"Will the two of you be fine going there alone?"

"It will be fine. From what I can see, the bandits should have brought their whole force to take out your carriage." There should only be stragglers there.

"Alright," The coachman nodded.

Keith and Gabriel set off, following Aria's lead.

"That cave should be the one," Keith and Gabriel were led to a cave.

"We should be careful," Keith nodded to Gabriel's words. Like that, the two of them entered the cave.

"It's too dark to see," Keith frowned. There were no lights in this cave.

"Po!" Mir made a sound.

"You can smell them?"

"Po!" Mir nodded.

"Alright, I will let you take point." Keith nodded as he followed Mir's lead. A Samui's smelling abilities were strong! The little snowball sniffed around. He looked at Keith.

Keith quickly raised his hand, stopping Gabriel from moving. There were people near here.

Mir. Keith gave Mir a sign. The little snowball knew what to do as he quickly jumped out.

"What the?"

"Who let a rodent in?"

The two bandits were staring at Mir before walking up to him, wanting to kick him away,

"No one touches Mir!" Keith knocked one of them out while the other one was done in by Gabriel.

"Good job," "You too," Keith looked down at Mir, "Mir, are there more around?"

"Bo,"

"Those were the only two." Keith nodded.

"Po!" Like that, Mir continued to sniff around, and the group followed him. And they were brought deeper into the cave. Keith and Gabriel saw it all.
