Volume 3 Chapter 42: First Class

The two walked around the academy before arriving at their classroom. There was a nameplate with their class number. When the two entered the class, there was already a good number of people there. And they stared at the two.

"They're looking at you," Carolyn chuckled. 

"Who cares,"

It wasn't surprising. With how many people stared at him, Keith got used to it. He walked over to where Gabriel was. 

"You know when the teacher is going to arrive?" Keith questioned.

"In a few minutes," There was only a few minutes before class started.  

"I see," Keith sat down. Carolyn sat down beside him. It didn't take long before someone came in. Keith and Gabriel immediately recognized who this person was. 

"Good morning, class. My name is Aidiun, and I shall be your homeroom teacher." It was the same proctor who handed Keith and Gabriel the tests.

"The beginning of the class will be general studies. You will all be learning the same thing as the other classes."

"Is there anything different compared to the other classes?" Keith raised his hand and questioned. 

Aidiun explained, "The lectures would be faster than those of the other classes. What will be different for every student is the main course you decide. That will be explained later on."

"Thank you, Professor," Keith smiled and said nothing else. 

"... You're welcome." Aidiun nodded, "Before I begin class, let's all introduce yourself." It would be weird for everyone to not know their classmate's names. 

"Who wants to go first?"

"..." There was silence. 

Keith raised his hand, "I'll go." He stood up and looked at everyone,  

"Hello, everyone. My name is Keith Freed. I like cooking and meeting new things. I hope we can all be good friends." It was a simple and calm greeting. 

"..." No one said a thing.

"Thank you, Keith." Keith sat back down. Like that, one by one, the people started to introduce themselves. But it was nothing compared to how Keith did it. They were all curt and cold. 

After everyone had greeted, Aidiun stated, "There is something I wish to tell you all. Just because you guys are in S-class, this doesn't mean you can be complacent. At any point, you can be dropped to A-class like that."

"Understood!" They understood. This was the best academy. Only the strong would be at the top.  

"Now then, let's begin class," Aidiun stated as he started to write on the board as quickly as possible. While he was doing this, the students couldn't believe how fast he was going! 

"Professor! You're going too fast!" One of the students couldn't take it. He could only copy a sentence before it was erased from the board. 

"Am I going too fast?" Aidiun questioned. Keith nodded as he raised his hand, 

"I think the second section, I need you to go slower. I'm a little confused about the problem here,"

"Student Keith, you remembered everything from the first section?" Aidiun was surprised. 

Keith nodded his head, "Mmhmm. I understand the information. But I don't understand the second part," Remembering everything was easy. But the second part was difficult to understand.

"I will explain it," Aidiun stated as he started to explain. This kept happening before the class ended. Aidiun clapped his hands together,

"This will be the usual pace of our lecture." Aidiun wasn't planning to change his speed. 

"Eh?" The students were shocked by his words. If Aidiun was going this quick, how were they supposed to copy it down? Aidiun ignored their look as they left the classroom. 

Carolyn grabbed her head, "What am I going to do?!"

"Hmm?"

"I could only copy down one page of notes!" Carolyn was one of the students who was shocked by the speed.

"I could only copy two," Gabriel sighed. He could only get bits and chunks of it.

"Really? I thought his lessons were easy to understand," Keith tilted his head. The two stared at him weirdly.

"Here, look." Keith showed them a few pages with notes in them. Carolyn and Gabriel didn't hesitate to grab the book,

"Our god!"

"Let us copy the notes!"

Keith laughed, "Go for it."  Like that, the two looked through his notebook, copying all the notes.

Keith wasn't the only one. It seemed there were other students who didn't have trouble listening to Aidiun. There were only a handful of people who could do it. 

"Anyways, we should get ready for the next class," Keith stated as he saw a new professor walking into the room. Like that, the next class started.
