"Aww," A loud yawn came out of Keith's mouth. Rubbing his eyes, he got out of the tent.

"Morning, Keith." Gabriel greeted.

"Morning. Nothing happened at night, right?" The two took turns to watch the night. Keith took the first shift while Gabriel took the latter.

"No, there weren't any monsters." Gabriel yawned.

"In times like this, I wish we had more people." With more people, they could get more rest.

"Indeed."

"I'll get started on breakfast." Keith rolled up his sleeves. They couldn't continue their exploration on an empty stomach. Gabriel watched Keith cook.

He cooked up a simple beef and potato hash.

"Let's eat." Keith gestured. As they ate,

"What should our move be?" Gabriel questioned. On this floor, there wasn't any strong monster. It seemed the only one was the cow. But the rest were weak.

"We should head to the next floor." Keith decided. Since they couldn't find anything, they should head to the next one.

"We have to search for the gate then."

"No, we don't need to. I saw it when we walked down from the tunnel."

"..You did?" Gabriel was surprised.

"It was only a glimpse. But I caught it." Keith smiled.

"Then let's go!" Gabriel was excited. Like that, the two headed to the gate. As they headed through,

"Woah!" Keith quickly caught something in his hand.

"SSSS!" But the monster continued to try to bite at him.

"That's a centipede." Gabriel tilted his head.

"Can you stop analyzing and give me a hand." Keith wanted to laugh. He had the centipede's fangs in his hand. And this guy was relentless. It tried to push forward, but Keith didn't budge.

Gabriel sliced the monster in half instantly.

"That monster lurked here," Keith muttered. How many students did it take down? That monster must have spooked some of them.

Gabriel had the same thought. But then he noticed Keith doing something with the monster.

"What are you doing with it?"

"Putting it in the storage."

"I know that. But are you really going to use it for cooking?" Gabriel blinked.

"Of course!" After being curious about it, that interest soon turned to cooking. He wondered how it would taste.

"..."

"Relax. It's not something you're going to die from."

"..." Are you sure?

"Trust me. When have I ever let you guys down?"

"..." You haven't. Keith's track record was clean. But the look on your face. It was dark and cunning. Clearly, this man had bad intentions, but the decision was made. The man was going to use it in his cooking.

"Now, let's keep going!" Keith smiled.

...

"We're doing so well, guys!" Carolyn smiled as she turned to Sarah and the rest. While the Keith-Gabriel duo was going at their own pace, the same could be said with Carolyn's group.

The group had made it down to the 3rd floor.

"Mmhmm! If we continue like this, we could make it to the boss floor." Sarah quipped.

"Indeed." The others were in high spirits. Actually, there was one who wasn't.

"I'm sorry for dragging everyone down." Arlo apologized as he looked down to the ground. Sarah shook her head,

"It's fine, Arlo. And you've been doing great. The way you killed those monsters was cool."

"Yeah! Compared to how you were in the beginning, I can see the growth." Jack added. Arlo's growth as a fighter shot up. Initially, the boy didn't know how to use a sword. But he could use one efficiently now.

"Thank you." Arlo smiled.

"But we really need to do something about the food." Jack's expression stiffened. The group was having a short break.

"Deal with it. We don't have Keith." Carolyn sighed. The group was eating dried meat.

"I wish we had more sandwiches." Jack cried as he looked up at the sky.

"You ate the most." Sarah retorted. They had Keith's sandwiches for lunch yesterday. But in a blink of an eye, they had finished it all!

"You ate as much as me!" Jack fired back. As the two siblings argued, Carolyn was silent, lost in thought.

"I wonder."

"Hmm?"

"Is that why Gabriel decided to pair up with Keith?"

"Eh?" The three tilted their heads when they heard that.

"You know. We were told that we would be exploring this dungeon for a day. So did he go with Keith because he knew we would finish the sandwiches earlier?" All of them had big appetites. Especially so when it came to Keith's cooking.

"..." Now that they had time to think about it.

"It's Gabriel. He's the nice guy." Jack waved his hand. There were two nice guys in the group. That was Keith and Gabriel. But the nice guy title hit more home for Gabriel. He wouldn't do something like that.

"But Gabriel was pretty adamant about it," Arlo muttered. When they were talking about it, Gabriel did make the first move.

"..." The four went silent.

The nice guy was actually really cunning!
