Volume 4: Chapter 56: Because I Altered The Floor Boss

"Who should go first?" It was a question everyone wanted to know. That also caused everyone to be more on edge as they stared at one another.

"How about you?" Alfia suggested Scarlet.

"I'm fine with going last."

"That's not going to happen." Alfia smiled at Scarlet. The two stared at one another. Some students didn't understand.

"Guys, let's just pull straws and get this over with." Carolyn shook her head. There was no need to fight like this. Pulling straws was the most straightforward method. However,

"What if you cheat?!"

"How can we trust a human like you!"

Some students didn't trust Carolyn and gave her a mocking look.

"Enough!" Alfia and Scarlet shouted, fed up with the situation.

"There's not enough time for all of this." If they couldn't trust something like that, they would only go around in circles.

"We'll choose." Like that, the straws were drawn.

"We're last." Alfia drew the shortest straw.

"Tch! We were here first! How could we go last?!" One elf groaned. He was a little angry, still wanting to go first.

Alfia shook her head, "Going last is probably the safest choice."

"Huh?"

"Going first means we must fight the monster first. That also means we have to fight it at full strength." That was why Scarlet wanted to go last as well.

...

"Carolyn did a good job controlling the situation." Shire smiled as he added some points to her grade.

"Those kids really like to fight with one another. It doesn't matter whether or not who goes first." Tennol shook his head. This was something the students never thought of. The boss monster refreshed every time another person entered the room.

"But can they defeat it?" Aidiun was curious.

"I think Scarlet and Alfia have the chance."

"Nope. They don't have a chance." Cadmus commented.

"What? Why?" A foreboding premonition crossed everyone's mind.

"Because I altered the floor boss."

"..." Oh, dear god. They turned to Sohma, who was the one who was supposed to control this dragon from doing reckless things like this! But he didn't know either!

"What did you do?" Sohma's voice was shaking as he asked.

"Something." Cadmus grinned as he watched.

"...Are they going to be alright?!"

"What's Keith's group doing?" The students banded together to not let him do anything. But what was said villain doing?

...

While that happened, Keith and Gabriel beat up any monster they saw. Keith clapped his hands,

"Gabriel, catch. Have some refreshments." He handed some sweets to him.

"Thanks."

"We're getting close to the boss." They were still on the 3rd floor. It would be a bit before they head to the fourth.

"Keith, look what I found? Can you use it?" Gabriel questioned. When that was said, Keith quickly dashed over to his side.

...

"What am I watching?" Tennol shook his head. The disparity in how the groups acted was heaven and earth. Keith was so lax that it was starting to annoy him.

"Keith knows when to conserve strength?"

"That's not conserving strength. Those two are having a picnic every 5 seconds!" Shire retorted. There was a difference!

"And that's why I did it." Cadmus sighed, "That kid is too lax with everything around him." Keith was acting way too nonchalant. He needed a push/

"Sure." The others understood. However,

"How strong did you make that thing?" It was knocking down teams left and right!

...

What is going on?! Carolyn gritted her teeth as she realized she wasn't in the boss room any longer.

"You guys were defeated, so we pulled you out." An instructor explained.

"That's what the bracelet is for?" Jack huffed. There was a nurse there healing his wounds.

"Mmhmm, it's a protective charm. If it senses you suffered a deadly injury, it will pull you out."

"What was the thing we fought?!" Carolyn's expression tensed up. That boss was not normal at all!

"..." The other three didn't know what to say either.

"It broke my shield." Jack looked down at his shattered shield. It wasn't split into two pieces. It was broken into bits!

"Please head over to where the other students are." The instructor pointed to a common area. The students who entered the boss room before they did were here.

"That was a good try." Ophelia walked up to them.

Carolyn shook her head, "We couldn't do much against it. It took us out in one blow. How about you guys?"

"The same." Ophelia and Eirlys were the second group who fought with the boss. And they were sent here.
