That morning, four hours before the competition officially began, Von and the others were gathered inside their house, ready for their equipment upgrade, brimming with anticipation.
"Finally, we're getting our upgrades!" Lydia said, grinning ear to ear. "I can't wait to see what you've forged for me. Hopefully, something Gold-tier! I won't accept anything less that hides my beauty either."
As usual, Nyx was quick to retort. "Of course you'd rely on equipment because you're weak."
"Shut up," Lydia shot back, hissing.
Von chuckled, glancing at Horizon, who had been busy for days. "It looks like you've really put your heart into these upgrades, holed up in the Forge Studio for over a week."
Horizon nodded, his expression as calm as ever. "I've forged equipment for all of us. This will give us a serious advantage in the competition."
"Even me?" Silphie asked, her usual stoic demeanor cracking as she pointed at herself.
"Of course," Horizon replied with a small smile. "I found special materials in the forest to craft something perfect just for you."
Silphie's icy façade softened, a rare smile creeping onto her face as she bowed her head slightly. "Thank you."
Her smile was disarming, a warmth so radiant that even the coldest of hearts would melt.
"Ah! Silphie is too cute!" Lydia squealed, pulling Silphie into a bear hug, her arms wrapping around Silphie's slender frame, burying her against her ample chest. "Don't worry, big sister will protect you!"
"Shouldn't it be the other way around? She's a priestess, and you're just a thief," Nyx sneered from the side, sparking yet another bickering match.
The two continued to squabble, while Silphie, still caught in Lydia's embrace, silently thought, "I . . . I can't breathe."
While the chaos happening around him, Horizon remained focused, ignoring the chatter as he brought out the first piece of upgraded gear.
He turned toward Frigid, who had been silent the entire time, observing from the sidelines.
Since Frigid wasn't much of a fighter and disliked wielding weapons, the best equipment for him was something that would amplify his defense—a true fortress on the battlefield.
Horizon stepped forward, holding a large glowing set of icy-blue armor like they were nothing. "Frigid, this is for you—the [Frostrune Armor Set]."
The room quieted as everyone's eyes locked onto the shimmering gear. The chestplate appeared to be carved from a single slab of enchanted ice, frost swirling within the translucent layers.
The pauldrons resembled jagged icicles, while the helm was shaped like the maw of a Frost Wyrm, constantly exhaling a chilling mist.
As Horizon handed it over, a cold gust seemed to ripple through the room, the temperature dropping.
Frigid stared at the armor for a moment, speechless. He had never needed flashy weapons, but this—this was a masterpiece. The frosty aura surrounding the armor radiated power.
"Once you put this on, no enemy will be able to break your defenses," Horizon said, his eyes gleaming with pride. "You'll be an unstoppable ice fortress."
Frigid slowly reached out and took the armor, feeling the cold seep into his skin, yet somehow it felt comforting. It belonged to him. This was a part of him.
"Thank you," he murmured, nodding toward Horizon with gratitude.
As he equipped the armor, the frosty mist around it intensified, spreading outward in a thin, ethereal cloud that clung to Frigid's form.
He now stood tall, his entire body encased in the unyielding embrace of frost, embodying the perfect balance of elegance and destruction.
The very air around him crackled with cold energy, and his presence alone sent chills down everyone's spine.
"Wow . . . he really looks like a walking glacier," Lydia whispered, finally breaking the silence.
"More like an ice king," Von added, a grin stretching across his face.
"Now you don't look like some beggar on the street! You look like a . . . a . .
."
"Expensive popsicle," Silphie finished.
"That's right. Wait. That's not what I was going to say."
"Yeah, yeah. It looks great on him." Nyx huffed.
Horizon smiled slightly, watching Frigid become one with the armor.
With the Frostrune Armor Set equipped, Frigid was ready.

The set consists of a, frost-plated body armor, reinforced ice boots, gauntlets lined with razor-sharp ice blades, and a helm shaped like the maw of a Frost Wyrm, with cold mist constantly exhaling from its mouth.
SPECIAL ABILITIES:
❶ Icebound Barrier: The Frostrune Armor generates an icy shield that absorbs incoming damage. When the shield breaks, it explodes outward, slowing and freezing nearby enemies for a short time. Cooldown: 5 minutes.
❷ Frost Aura: An aura of biting cold surrounds the wearer, reducing the movement speed and attack speed of nearby enemies by 10%. The aura also grants frost resistance to allies within a short radius.
❸ Cold Endurance: The armor enhances the wearer's stamina, allowing them to remain unaffected by freezing temperatures or ice-based attacks, while reducing stamina loss during physical exertion by 15%.
❹ Glacial Strike: The gauntlets of the Frostrune Armor can channel icy energy into a powerful strike that freezes the target solid for 2 seconds. Critical hits extend the freeze duration. Cooldown: 3 minutes.
❺ Chill of the Wyrm: The helm enhances the wearer's focus, granting the ability to summon a frost wyrm spirit for a brief time to deal a devastating ice attack, dealing AoE frost damage in a large radius.

The [Frostrune Armor Set] had a chilling, mystical effect—it granted the wearer additional ice damage to their attacks.
However, in Frigid's case, his other stats were lacking except his CONS. As a result, his ice-based attacks wouldn't carry much power.
The true value of this armor, though, wasn't in its offensive capabilities.
What made the [Frostrune Armor Set] truly formidable was its incredible defensive power. It granted a staggering 25% boost to Constitution (CONS), an enhancement that outclassed even many of the rare Gold-tier armors found in all of Eternia.
Frigid already had an impressive 500+ CONS, but with the Frostrune Armor, that increased by an additional 125.
His total CONS now soared past 625, and with his passive skills, this would make him nearly impenetrable. It would take an overwhelming force, something of truly monstrous power, to even begin to crack his defenses.
With this armor, Frigid became a living fortress, an unmovable wall of ice that could withstand attacks most would never survive.
He didn't need to strike hard—he just needed to endure. And now, nothing short of catastrophic damage would be enough to bring him down.
"Next is Silphie," Horizon said, gesturing for her to step forward.
Silphie moved with her usual calm demeanor, her face giving away little emotion, but her large, doe-like eyes gleamed with excitement.
Up until now, Silphie had been relying on a standard priestess robe—a relic that did nothing to enhance her stats. Her current staff was just as lackluster, unable to truly harness the extent of her magical potential. The market hadn't offered anything worthy of her abilities, especially considering the rarity of high-level magical gear.
But all of that was about to change.
Horizon had gathered incredibly rare materials: a branch from the legendary Apple Tree Dragon and fragments from the elusive Fey. Fey materials were nearly impossible to come by. These magical beings were reclusive and powerful, their very essence tied to ancient, untouchable magic. Only a select few could even lay eyes on them, let alone collect their remains.
With these elements combined—and a little dust from Nyx's enchanted bones—Horizon had crafted two magnificent pieces for Silphie: the [Cloak of the Moth Rider] and the [Faerie Moon Staff].
The Cloak shimmered with a soft, ethereal glow, seemingly woven from the gossamer wings of magical moths. It offered not just protection but enhanced her magical casting speed, allowing her to weave spells effortlessly. Its deep, midnight hue, speckled with silver threads, made her look like she was draped in the very essence of the night sky.
The Faerie Moon Staff, on the other hand, radiated raw, untamed magic. Its core, made from the branch of the Apple Tree Dragon, pulsed with life. Topped with a crystal that shimmered like moonlight, it amplified Silphie's healing and support spells beyond anything she had wielded before.
Now, her mere presence would rejuvenate and protect her allies, and her healing would be unmatched on the battlefield.
As Horizon handed the staff to Silphie, her usually stoic face softened into a smile.
"Thank you," she said, her voice quiet but filled with warmth.
With the Cloak of the Moth Rider and Faerie Moon Staff, Silphie had ascended to a new level. She would now be an indispensable force in the upcoming competition.
