She Belongs To The Devil

Chapter 673 The Dinner

Kenneth and the Royals from Wyverndale were sitting at the dining table. They were waiting for King Walter and Queen Florence to arrive.

"By the way," Zach leaned to his left and asked Kenneth in a whisper, "Doesn't your cousin Grace live here?"

Kenneth's eyes automatically fell on Ramon. He was glad that Ramon didn't hear Zach. He then leaned towards Zach and answered, "No, she doesn't live here. But she might visit the castle soon if she learns about my arrival."

Zach pointed his brows at Ramon and asked Kenneth, "Can't we meet her even if she doesn't come here on her own. Considering how he doesn't take any interest in finding a bride already, I really worry that Ray will also end up like Uncle Raphael."

Kenneth unsuspectingly covered his mouth with his hand so that he wouldn't burst into laughter. And he nodded as if to agree with what Zach had just said.

After a while, the guards announced the arrival of the monarchs. "His Majesty, the King, and Her Majesty, the Queen will be entering the hall."

The Princes and Princesses got up from their respective seats. Everyone else who was in the room also stood in an attentive position.

And when the monarchs walked inside the hall, everyone respectfully bowed again.

The King and the Queen had changed into their lighter clothes.

The King took his designated chair that was at the head of the table. The Queen also settled down on her designated chair that was right opposite to Kenneth's and on the right side of Ariel.

And when the King and the Queen took their seats, the others also sat back down in their respective chairs.

The maids began serving the dinner.

"Our son didn't properly introduce his guests earlier. I guess all of you were tired from the journey." The King glanced at Kenneth and said in a rather stern voice, "So he forgot the formalities."

"Ah! It skipped my mind, Your Majesty." Kenneth pressed his lips together and turned his gaze down.

The Royals from Wyverndale were now confused if they were to introduce themselves one by one, or if they were supposed to leave it be.

Ariel gave a questioning glance to Kenneth. However, he already looked lost.

Thankfully, the Queen came to their rescue. "Kenneth has told us a lot about all of you. So let me see if I can get your names right."

She then looked at everyone and tried to guess their names. First, she glanced at Zach and said, "You look like you are the youngest one. So you must be Prince Zachariah."

Zach gave a bright smile and gave a nod. "That's correct, Your Majesty."

Queen Florence gave a sweet smile and turned to her side. "And you must be Princess Ariel. You are even more beautiful than how Kenneth had described you to be."

Ariel gave a shy smile to the Queen. "You're also very lovely and kind, Your Majesty."

Kenneth raised his gaze and looked at his mother and Ariel. A smile was automatically painted on his lips when he saw both of them smiling."

King Walter also decided to join the fun and said, "And you two must be the twins, Prince Ramon and Princess Niylah."n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Yes, Your Majesty," the twins replied simultaneously.

King Walter curiously leaned forward. And then he asked them, "I had heard that your father is the Alpha of the werewolves of Wyverndale. Is that true?"

Niylah timidly looked down at the table while Ramon confidently looked at the King and gave the answer, "Yes, Your Majesty. Our father is the Alpha. And our mother is also a werewolf."

And the King asked Ramon again, "I think I heard that one of you was also a werewolf. Is that you?"

Everyone's eyes were on Ramon when the King asked that question.

Ramon gave a polite smile and said, "No. It's actually my sister."

"Ah!" King Walter gave a nod.

The maids had already finished serving the food on everyone's plates. So the King then asked everyone, "Alright. Why don't we talk more while we eat?"

"Thank you for the meal!" the guests spoke simultaneously.

Everyone lifted their forks and knives after the King lifted his.

And while using his set of cutlery, King Walter glanced at the guests and asked, "I hope that all of you had a comfortable journey. Did you encounter any problem?"

Ariel smiled and replied with a polite voice, "We had a wonderful and memorable journey, thanks to the Crown Prince."

The King nodded and then turned his gaze to look at his son's face. And he asked with a serious look on his face, "I hope that he didn't get himself into troubles while he was in Wyverndale."

Kenneth gave a hollow smile and looked down at his plate to avoid his father's piercing gaze.

The Queen had a little frown line between her brows when her husband asked that question.

Ariel could see the tension in the air between the father and the son. She glanced at the King and defended her friend, "You can rest assured, Your Majesty. Crown Prince Kenneth is not the type of man to cause trouble, that also in a foreign Kingdom. My parents are really fond of him. And so are my cousins and everyone else."

King Walter turned to look at Ariel. The corners of his lips curved up a little. And he said in a softer tone, "That's a relief to hear. You know how our son is a special one. I'm his father so I naturally worry about him."

Kenneth aggressively cut the piece of boar meat on his plate and spoke while his eyes were fixated on the meat, "You don't need to worry about me when I am in Wyverndale, father. Most of the people there are like me, so I am not treated like a special case there."

King Walter chuckled at that remark from his son. He chewed and swallowed the food in his mouth. And he nonchalantly said, "Okay, I take it back. Let me rephrase what I said earlier. I worry that some harm might befall the people who happen to cross your path at the wrong time."

Kenneth slammed his hands on the table in frustration and turned to look at his father. And he said in a rather harsh tone, "Father, please! It was one incident! And it happened years ago. So please, stop repeating it time and again, and definitely don't repeat it in front of my friends!"

The mood of the dinner turned gloomy in a matter of a few seconds. Zach, Ramon, and Niylah quietly stuffed their mouth without caring what they were actually eating.

Ariel looked concerned. She could tell that this wasn't some playful bickering like how she always had with her father. This looked much more serious.

The Queen let out a quiet sigh. She was unhappy that the King was ruining the mood of the dinner which was supposed to be a joyous one.

She looked at her husband and suggestively asked, "Why don't we get to know more about our guests? You can always talk with our son later."

Though she asked that, the air was already tense. And there was complete silence in the room except for the sounds of the cutleries clanking against the plates.

Niylah's voice suddenly tore apart that silence. "Your Majesty, you need to understand that our first transformation is not in our control."
